The selection of Mediterranean appetizers is very good. Haven't tried their hummus, next time. The wine is mediocre, go for cocktails instead. Service could have been faster but it was a busy night.

Food was good and reliable but not amazing - I've had a better version of hummus, shakshuka elsewhere

We dined here on a Saturday night, a group of about 12, and we had a great night. Service was great from start to finish, very attentive and friendly staff, even brought my boyfriend a surprise dessert with candle and a tequila shot for his birthday. Food was very tasty, traditional Israeli, with a bit of a twist, a large variety of hummus and tahini platters, I especially enjoyed the eggplant tahini. The restaurant is very cute, included lamps made from sieves, forks and spoons. Overall, it was perfect for a fun night out with friends, only warning, it is pretty loud on a Saturday night, not the place for a quiet dinner.

I went with 3 other people, and we got a bunch of things to share. Everything was delicious! The cocktails are also very good. The fava hummus was great, and the eggplant tahini was sooo good. I loved that the pita was grilled.

Came in for a last minute party of 10 booking on a Friday night. I made the reservation about 15 minutes prior to walking in and was almost certain to thy would still make us wait an hour, but I was pleasantly greeted by the host and he even recalled what I wrote in he comment in the reservation.

Food was excellent with a good choice of shareable appetizers, a very fairly priced wine menu, and good entree choices as well. We had a great dinner and I'd be happy to return there again another time.

Really tasty food, especially the apps and skewers. The Tuna entree was overcooked big time though. Portions are pretty small so make sure to order apps and sides. Service was great, really nice people although they were a bit slow. The table sitting next to us was really upset about that.

We had a really nice evening at Candela. The staff was courteous and attentive. The food was fresh and delicious, the menu had something for everyone. The music in the background was energetic and added interest but did not interfere with conversation. Just the right combination of a nice comfortable neighborhood spot with good food and service.

ruin good food & fun bar with awful music: live, loud, sinfully butchering 70's euro sounds! we could not pay fast enough.

The waiter was great, seated us, gave us some time to look at the menu, then took our order and brought us bread while we waited. The food took a while, but we didn't mind too much amidst the conversation. However, the food was not at all as expected. We all ordered the eggs benedict-- some the Norwegian, but what we got weren't poached eggs, they were hardboiled eggs cooked without shells on. The yolks were not runny as one would expect eggs benedict to be, they were completely hardened.

To be fair, our waitress was a trainee, but she had no veteran supervising her, and kept wandering away in the middle of taking drink and food orders. Food took over 30 min to come, and was really lackluster once it did. I have enjoyed this restaurant in the past, so I was sad to see the diminished quality of the food and service. The host/lead waiter (not sure which) was lovely, but that did not make up for the issues. They sent a free drink at the end of dinner, which was well intentioned, but it was some gross chocolate liquour. Would rather they had just lessened the bill or asked what we wanted as a desert or drink. Sorry to say I won't be back.

We've been there before. Although my husband doesn't love the Cuban side, I have enjoyed all my Cuban and Italian meals. We took relatives from Puerto Rico on Saturday who seemed to enjoy their Cuban steak dishes. Drinks are good, as is music and service. The maitre d's are extremely welcoming which makes a big difference.

Had an amazing experience at Candela Candela. The food was absolutely delicious! I came here with a few good friends of mine and we enjoyed every bite. From our bruschetta to Candela Ravioli to the Ceviche Caliente everything was worth a try. The flavors all blended together so well and the drinks were an amazing way to top off a great meal! The mojitos are to die for and I will definitely be returning soon!

We had a wonderful time at this little gem. We had Caprese Di Buffalo and the Cuban Platter for two for our appetizers. These appetizers were a great start to our meals. I had the Chicken Perugina as my entrée and enjoyed every bite. Also the Mojitos are excellent!!

My friends and I , four people, stopped by Candela for pre game dinner on Sunday afternoon and were thrilled by the opportunity to try to both Cuban and Italian food under one roof, especially that all our tastes differ.
And we were very pleased we chose this place. The atmosphere is very cosy and home, the waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable About the menu. The room was full and we still got enough attention and excellent service. We shared 4 appetizers and 4 entrees and a bottle of wine. food came on time and was simply delicious.empanadas, tuna tartar, camarones al ajillo, lamb chops and ceviche caliente were my favorite. We will be back for more. I heard they make great cocktails so I can't wait.

My friends and I went for New Year's Eve and the food was average. My friends had the lamb chops and they both said that they were dry. I had the filet and it was average. Maybe just an off night because it was NYE? The drinks were outstanding and wish you could rate on that.

I threw together at the last minute an impromptu dinner for my birthday. I was kind of on the fence about the place as I already have fave Cuban places (one in Harlem and another in Brooklyn). The service was decent as was the food. I decided to give them the extra star because they were quite accommodating to my 10-person group. The two checks weren't separated properly, the mojito I had was decent at best, but at least it was in a place where my friends and I could find decent parking. In the future, I don't think I will return for dinner, but maybe lunch is an option.

Candela Candela was wonderful! We had a group of 10 people, a family reunion of sorts celebrating some holiday cheer, and quality time together, and Matthew and the rest of the staff of Candela Candela made our experience that much better. The food was phenomenal, Matthew took great care of us - a truly great experience all around.
