We accept reservations three months to the calendar day & always keep some tables available for walk-ins for up to 4 guests. As a neighborhood restaurant, we know you don't always want to plan ahead! In keeping with this ethos, our limited bar seating is always first come first serve. If you'd like to make a reservation & cannot find one online, please give us a call at the restaurant!

    Best experience ever. We got seated a little early for our reservation which was awesome! Cameron took great care of us! Explained the menu in detail, gave wonderful suggestions, and overall great service. Thank you Cameron! My boyfriend and I had no complaints whatsoever. Food was phenomenal and the wine selection was perfect. Cant wait to come back!

    Our food took over an hour and a half to come. They apologized but we weren’t given a discount or anything to try to make up for it. The food was tasty though, and ambiance was nice! But definitely colored the overall experience.

    small portions but high price. food is mediocre at best. there’s a lot of really good pasta places in austin. automatic 20% gratuity even if service isn’t good. 3% automatic credit card surcharge.

    Jane, I'm so sorry that you didn't enjoy and that we weren't able to do anything to make it better. We can always replace a dish if there's something not to your liking for any reason. As to the charges, we do make sure to post those on the menus and the website and receipts so there are no surprises. The service charge goes to the whole staff to make sure everyone makes atleast $17/hr and the CC charge goes directly to the processor and was implemented in March when those charges were raised. We want our guests to know exactly where any price increases go. If you have any other questions on that, please let me know. I'm happy to further explain why we do what we do.     It's a cool spot to try once. I wouldn't go back. The meatballs and carbonara are both phenomenal, but that's it. Service is friendly... but hurried and inadequate. I'm trying to relax here. I would just order those two dishes to-go or eat them outside, which is really nice. We tried a whole lot of food though and nothing (besides the meatballs or carbonara) was anything to write home about.

    Shannon, I'm sorry that you had an underwhelming dinner. We are always able to replace or remake a dish that isn't to your liking or you think hasn't been executed properly. It should be part of our job to figure out when that's the case and I'm sorry that didn't happen. The weather is finally getting nicer and we'd love for you to sit on the patio with the meatballs and a cocktail. Give something else a try and, if you don't like it, let us know, we'll find something else for you to try.     I thought all the dishes were overly salted. The server made poor wine recommendations that did not match the flavor profile I asked for, and even resulted in getting the wrong glass of wine. The noise level was extremely high.

    Parpadelle were hard and undercooked. The menu doesn't specify that the pasta dishes are "primo piatto" sized. Service is friendly. 20 percent service charge is added, whether you like it or not. Usual Austin place: more image than substance

    Robert, I'm really sorry to hear that because it's exactly what we try not to be. You should see everything you spend reflected in the housemade, sustainably sourced plates and knowledgeable service and not a lot of superfluous glitz. If you return, please let us know when something's not to your liking because we can always replace any dish. The hospitality charge is shared with our entire staff so everyone is guaranteed a living wage and we make sure it's all over the menus and website so no one is surprised.     Food good but not as good as rated. Waiter was terrible. Can’t blame the restaurant for that. Overall didn’t get a good vibe and the ambiance did not line up with the price or the hype. If I lived in Mueller it could well be a local dive of mine. However, there are way better places to take your significant other for their birthday.

    Severine, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your evening. While we don't claim to be a traditional Italian-American or Regional Italian restaurant, about half the menu is pasta or risotto. The server should have been able to point those dishes out and definitely should have called over one of our managers or bartenders to talk wine. We'll make sure to address that.     Service was out of this world. Wine recommendation was on point. The dishes that were good were SO delicious, flavorful, and OMG-inducing—dishes I will absolutely go back for. Two dishes we ordered (half the meal) were bland and boring, which made me wonder how they came out of the same kitchen. They weren’t bland in comparison—I would’ve thought this no matter where I was, making it even weirder to get them here.

    The food and service are always top notch and make for a very pleasant and enjoyable experience! Every dish is unique and feels intentional in terms of the ingredients being selected and techniques being used to execute.     1st time having dinner at L'Oca D'Oro and highly recommend! We tried several of the appetizers and a couple entrees, and we enjoyed all of them. The rosemary sourdough focaccia was delicious, highly recommend the meatballs, beets, & bucatini

    The food was very good, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I want to restate that the service was top notch through our entire meal. That alone would make it tempting to come back for a second try. The desert and bread were absolutely “wow”, the appetizers were excellent, and the pasta dishes were good and fresh, although did not have the same “wow” factor for us. So very good overall, but why it did not get a 5 star rating in our humble opinion: We must admit, the value and atmosphere relative to the price left a bit to be desired. As an example, we were told the portions were shareable when we ordered, although they seemed very normal & standard portions in our opinion and experience. Although delicious, the bread alone was $20 (didn’t realize it was an extra $10 when we were asked by a waitress and agreed to more bread). The bill for 2 people (bread, 2 apps, 2 entrees, good but not high end glasses of wine, and desert) was $240. I am happy to pay that price, but with that price our expectations go up equally. As an example, the restaurant inside is pleasant but not a “wow” atmosphere by any stretch. I respect that they take care of their staff but that is definitely passed through to the customer. As an example, it’s one thing to include 20% gratuity but we noticed the mark-up on wine seemed exceptionally high, even for the fine dining establishment they are. In summation, very good Italian food that is fresh, with even better service. However, you are paying top tier steakhouse prices for smaller portions and lesser atmosphere you would likely get otherwise. In our humble opinion, this is a great place to go once to try, especially if you live in the area and want to avoid downtown traffic. Perhaps you are price-insensitive, prefer a more simple, yet pleasant atmosphere, and don’t mind the smaller portions. After that, it is totally up to you if the value is there over the other fine dining options available to you.
