Visited Allora this morning for breakfast and the service was mediocre, dirty utensils, server very pushy and not welcoming at all. This was my first time there and frankly there are hundreds of other places I’d rather go on my next trip.
Meatballs with grits is the best,,
Mussels no flavor and overpriced for this serving,,
The food was wonderful, but what really set Allora apart was the service. Jaraspun was our waitress and she offered great recommendations that did not disappoint. My wife could not decide on a wine, so without even asking she brought her a tasting to help her decide.
The staff was very polite; that was probably the best thing about the restaurant! It was early in the morning so there wasn't really any guest eating. I thought the service was a bit slow, and the food wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to rave about.
I'll try coming for Brunch to see if the food quality is better. We ordered the FRITTATA which wasn't good at all, the Chicken and Biscuit which was okay, and the french toast which was good but a little over cooked in some areas.
The food and service was amazing. We had an amazing meal at a affordable price for the atmosphere and quality.
Somehow we had one of the worst experiences service wise that I have had in Atlanta, even though the restaurant was empty on a Friday night - which I guess I know why. Waitress was completely inattentive, appetizers came out with the food, and the sangria was horrific. The appetizer of meatballs was great, but our main dishes had pasta that was severely over cooked and a lack of flavor.
We used our dining reward on this restaurant and feel like it was completely wasted.
Allora has the most beautiful round bar, but unfortunately, that is the best thing about it. We were so excited to eat there after reading the wonderful reviews, but it just wasn't a pleasurable experience.
SERVICE: Our server was new, so thankfully the restaurant was not busy as each item ordered took longer than expected to be delivered, while we could seeing it sitting under the heat lamps waiting to be distributed. Our water, soft drinks and cocktails were all dropped off with no beverage napkins or coasters, so condensation was all over the table and dripped on our clothes.
FOOD: We ordered the margherita pizza and corn chowder as appetizers. The pizza was served cold, despite us being seated just across from the kitchen, and only two other seated tables in the restaurant. The chowder was only warm and lacked flavor. Sweet Corn Chowder is supposed to be delicate, but instead of delicate; we received bland. Moving to cocktails, I ordered the sangria assuming it was be freshly made. Instead it tasted like a bottled, overly sweet, spoiled Lambrusco. Next we ordered the Shrimp Campanelli and the Pasta Carbonara . The campanelli was under cooked and sticky and the sauce extremely bitter. I did have to send the campanelli back and they were lovely to remove it from our bill. The cabonara was missing the egg yolk, yet it was the one item that did have great flavor. Lastly, we had the olive oil cake with vanilla ice cream and hazelnut frosting along with the strawberry bread pudding and strawberry ice cream. The strawberry ice cream was a standout here. It was creamy and delicious with large chucks of strawberry. The olive oil cake dessert was deconstructed with the nutella sitting underneath the ice cream off to the side of the cake. It definitely would have been better had the cake itself been frosted with nutella.
Our waiter was fabulous!
The service was just very slow and not knowledgeable and kind of like they were not interested.
Incredible food, awesome staff
I think my server was new, so there were a few mistakes. We had a bottle of spring water, she began filling my wife's Glass with tap water. She also gave us someone else's passbook. You could definitely see she was trying hard! So, that was not a big deal. Food was just ok. Nothing special
Very poor service. Manager or owner walks in and helps himself to food in kitchen and seats at bar area to eat. This is while staff is short handed or pretending to be short handed. We did not get food or drinks for a long time and food was cold.
Just sucks !!!
We live nearby and just got around to trying this place. The menu looked good, but the place never seems to be very busy, so we weren't sure what to expect. We went on a Friday night and the place was pretty empty except for a few other tables and some people at the bar. We had our pick of tables in the section we were seated in.
They brought us some foccacia with olive oil to dip to start which was good and tasted fresh. We ordered the kale salad and fried Brussels sprouts as appetizers. I LOVED the salad. It had this very tangy dressing and pickled onions were the perfect compliment to it. The Brussels sprouts were also really good. The portion was enormous and they weren't greasy at all. They tasted like they had some kind of dressing on them too which gave a little acidity that I really liked. They were also garnished with hazelnuts which was nice.
We had half portions of the rigatoni bolognese and the short rib pappardelle. All the pasta is made fresh in house and the texture of both pastas were amazing. The bolognese sauce was really good, but a little salty. Luckily there was some fresh ricotta dolloped in the middle to balance it out. The short rib pappardelle actually really exceeded my expectations. The meat was very tender and flavorful and there were tons of mushrooms, spinach and parsnips too which gave nice texture and flavor contrast to the dish. The only thing that was weird (but not necessarily a bad thing) is that the pappardelle was super thick. Literally as wide as a lasagna noodle. Still tasty, but made it a little awkward to eat.
Finally, we had a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was really good. The crust was crispy and had a nice char on it. The pepperoni was a bit greasy, but not more than you'd expect from any pepperoni. It also had a kick!
Overall I thought it was a great meal with great service.
Absolutely delicious! Have been a few times for business lunches and highly recommend it. Clean plates all around!!
The food was delicious! We shared the fried Brussels sprouts appetizer and they were wonderful. I enjoyed my short rib papperdelle and my friends were happy with their meals too. There were people at the bar and people at a few other tables, but overall it was quiet at the restaurant. Our server was pleasant and attentive. My only complaint was that I noticed an odor in the restaurant - somewhat sewage-like - and it seemed like they were trying to cover it up with air freshener. It bothered me for the first 10 minutes we were there, but then I got used to it.
Food was excellent! Didn't expect much because of its location inside a hotel. Really impressed. The menu was fresh and local. Food and service were outstanding.
Went for brunch with a group of girlfriends and the food was amazing! I highly recommend the quiche. I will say we were not impressed with the service, the restaurant was empty but our waitress was not very attentive and we had to ask for the receipt/ to go boxes multiple times. I loved the atmosphere though and will be back!
Wonderful food! Great service!
Wine was Great! No wait for table... very attentive staff!
Food was terrific and Dan, our server, was very attentive and provided great recommendations. This is best kept secret in Atlantic station.
3 set of people in the place and it takes over 10 mins for service. Never will go back unless its free!
We had an amazing experience at Allora! Dan was one of the best servers we have ever had - he provided suggestions, gave us a lot of attention and we had a great conversation with him. We will definitely be back again for dinner and look forward to trying brunch as well.
The food was very good! And the space and atmosphere fun and relaxing. The problem was the service. While kind, the servers were not very knowledge about the food or wine menu, the timing of the arrival of the courses was off and the service was slow. We had to ask for our check after more than half an hour after finishing our meal and the restaurant was not busy.
Need to work on the service. I know it was a busy night but we ate most of our meal without silverware and couldn't track the guy down.
First time in since remodel. It was sooo good. Great wine list. Everyone was so nice. Service was excellent
Meh...Went for brunch because we were stuck at Atlantic Station for a couple hours. Menu was extremely limited. I was brought luke-warm coffee. Food was OK. Service was OK . I certainly wouldn’t make any effort to return.
The crab meat bruschetta was a nice take on traditional. It wasn’t phenomenal, but was refreshing nonetheless. The margherita pizza was great— fresh, authentic, and flavorful.
Exceptional food. Absolutely loved the homemade pasta dishes. Reminded us of restaurants in Rome. Straightforward, top quality ingredients. Simple but elegant preparation. Pasta cooked to perfection. We’ll be back!
Our server, Dan, was awesome. However, the restaurant did not have adequate serves staffed so Dan became overwhelmed quickly. The place was freezing inside with temps in the 20s. We ate with our coats on. The food was decent but my pasta was dry as a bone and the veg lasagna was all eggplant instead of squash and zucchini. Would go back because of Dan's great service in spite of management giving him too many tables to wait on, but won't go back because of the food, ambiance and lack of comfortability.
Great food and service. I highly recommend the rigatoni! The pasta is homemade and delicious!
Christmas brunch was very good and our server Dan was very pleasant and funny. He crafted a personalized drink fit for the occasion.
We had Christmas Eve reservations and were hoping for a lovely dinner. We were very disappointed! The atmosphere was cold and the hostess, who doubled as our server, seemed very disinterested in us and never asked my husband for his drink order. The menu was extremely limited, (we later learned that we were given the lunch menu!) and they do not have a children's menu. They would accommodate the children with a pasta dish at $12.95. We had two drinks and ended up leaving for a restaurant with a more extensive menu.
We weren't impressed by Allora. The roasted artichoke was tough and chewy - hard to swallow. The chicken plate wasn't bad but wasn't amazing either. It claimed to have lemon and rosemary jus but I couldn't detect any. My date's fish plate was similarly good-but-nothing-special and not terrifically flavorful. Neither plate was worth the price paid.
It was a Christmas date for an ASO show so we were both disappointed. Fortunately, the Symphony was wonderful. We'll return to the ASO but not to Allora. Overpriced & under-flavored.
It was great, however, even though we were allowed to make a 4:00 reservation, they weren't technically serving dinner at that time. They accommodated us, but an obvious update is needed to the reservations to sync them with their hours.
My husband and I were very excited to try this restaurant but left feeling dissapointed by the food and service. The food was fine but nothing we didn’t feel we could have made ourselves at home which is why I consider it to be overpriced. Most of the tables were empty at 8:00 PM on a Friday so we only found it a little odd that the host was also our waiter. We ordered Bruschetta and received Burrata and the entrees arrived before the staff swapped the appetizer out. The restaurant was out of two different types of wines I selected from the menu. Towards the end, the waiter/host brought the wrong entrees out to us, which I find it hard to mess up an order when there were so few tables occupied. Once we received our check, no items had been comped for their mistakes and no apologies were made. Unfortunately I do not see us going back to Allora.
Four of my girlfriends and I have an annual holiday dinner each year and this was our first time having it at Allora. We will definitely be returning. The service was excellent. All of our meals were served hot and to order. The presentation was excellent. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night, or, any occasion. We all recommend highly.
While she was extremely sweet, it was apparent that our server was very inexperienced. There were 8 people in our party for an after work happy hour of drinks and appetizers and she seemed very overwhelmed. She had difficulty bringing out more than 2 drinks at a time, the bottle of wine we ordered came after the food arrived and although she provided a taste to the person ordering the wine, she forgot to fill his glass after pouring a glass for the others. Overall the experience was fine and we'd definitely go back. However, I would recommend to management to be sure and properly train the staff before putting them in from of patrons.
I made a reservation for 6 people but they had it noted for 4 people, but we were seated fairly quickly after making the adjustment. Server must have been new and therefore service was extremely slow. They do not offer any bread or snacks and our meals were extremely slow to come out so we were starving. They do not have many vegetarian options, and do no make accommodations. We ordered a bottle of wine and one of us ordered the porcini ravioli dish but then 15 minutes after placing those orders we were notified they had ran out of those two items. When asking how large the pizza portions were, the server said they were "large" but they were most definitely personal pans. Nothing was taken off our bill for our many inconveniences. Overall, was pretty disappointed with this meal and restaurant.
The food was amazing and our waiter was very attentive and experienced.
Great food, wonderful service! The bruschetta was incredible; as were our entrées (branzino and flank steak). Daniel took excellent care of us. We'll be back the next time we're at Atlantic Station.
