Wonderful meal and incredible place to celebrate a birthday.
A+ experience all the way around. I made the reservation leading up to a vacation. Glad I did, the entire evening ended up being booked even though it was a Monday night.
We were seated immediately and the server took care of us promptly, never leaving us wondering when he would come back but also not hovering. Service was super professional and enhanced the experience.
We both ordered the Mar y Tierra which is a surf and turf featuring hanger steak and shrimp. Presentation was top notch and flavor was even better. For dessert we had the Queso Helado, basically a Peruvian ice cream. Coffee came in the form of a French press and was excellent.
As a side note. I’d noted on the reservation that this was our anniversary dinner. It was acknowledged by our server and we were even given a small, delicious treat. Very thoughtful.
Can’t wait to come back here again. It was an experience worth repeating.
Everything was fantastic. From the service to the food and every detail in between. I took a friend here who was in visiting from another state and he was blown away by everything. We loved our meals and appetizers. We will definitely be back to do the chefs tasting menu.
Excellent Customer Service and Fantastic Dinner. Always enjoy dining at the Llama!
Creative cuisine, a great representation of Peru's finest.
My wife and I are fans of Peruvian Cuisine, so we decided to try this restaurant as soon as we learned about it. Don't let first impressions fool you. It’s a small place, with minimum social distancing, but we never felt uncomfortable. And the food was absolutely outstanding!!
I started with a Cusqueña, my favorite Peruvian beer, served extra cold along with a frozen mug. First in a long time that I've got a frozen mug in a restaurant!
For appetizers we had the Pulpo, and Causa Trio. All the appetizers were made with fresh ingredients and perfectly paired with some sauces that were delicious. Fantastic! The shrimp causa was the best!
For the main course, my wife had the Arroz con Pollo (which was a Cornish hen served over a bed of perfectly cooked rice). She found it delicious but didn’t like having to debone the Cornish hen. I had the Mar y Tierra, made with good-sized fresh shrimp (at least 5) along with 4 tender pieces of filet over a bed of tagliatelle. Absolutely fantastic!!
To close, we had the Passion Fruit Tres Leches. It not only has possibly the most original and beautiful presentation I've ever seen for a tres leches, but it also was very very good.
All in all, a great experience and fantastic service by Rodek. Definitely will return on our next trip to St. Augustine. Enjoy!
This is our favorite restaurant in Saint Augustine. Upscale, fantastic all-around experience. Never disappoints.
A wonderful experience! The service was top notch and the food was amazing. We had the ceviche Lima as well as the anticuchos as appetizers and both were phenomenal, we especially loved the sauce that accompanied the anticuchos. My wife and I tried the Paiche and Mar Y Tierra as entrees and both were equally great. The Paiche was new and adventurous to both of us, but was a great dish with all of its flavors. The surf and turf was also amazing, the steak cooked perfectly. We’d read a lot of really good reviews, but our experienced every one of them! Looking forward to dining here again sometime!
The food was absolutely delicious. The service was top notch! Our water glasses never got halfway empty before the server was atop of it.
The server explained the foods in great detailed of the seasons and flavor. Suggested an amazing wine with dinner
We were not rushed. We dined for two hours with no issues but left with much praise of service, creative menu and good value.
Easily the best spot for Peruvian food in the entire country. If you can go, GO
Absolutely amazing flavors. As good as some of the much more expensive Peruvian Ceviche establishments in Miami. If you are in the mood for something other than the same ole same ole give it a try.
Food was excellent!
It was great to get away from the packed downtown area and enjoy a quaint space with extremely quality food. You can taste the culinary teams passion with every bite! Will be back.
Absolutely The Best in STA!
We had visited Llama in the past and were so impressed, that we wanted to try the Chef's Tasting Menu on this occasion since it was our anniversary. WOW!
We were told to set aside at least 3 hours, and it was absolutely the best dinner experience we have had in a very, very long time. We were never waiting, it was just fun and a true tasting experience. The Chef takes great pride in explaining each dish, and each was a work of art and food mastery. This guy needs to be nominated for a James Beard award, and I am going to look into that. Everything was truly amazing, and the way everything was presented was exceptional.
This is not your typical pretentious establishment, but the food and service far exceeded any we have visited. The waiter/sommelier was friendly and knowledgeable. The wines were perfectly paired with our 13 courses. Yes, 13 courses! They have a 7 course as well, but the 13 was an experience and trip to Peru!
Yes, the meal costs more than your typical 3-4 course meal, but what would you expect? It was so well worth it! We went in at 5 and left at 9, and loved it! A True Gem in STA!
The first time my fiancée and I visited St. Augustine, we didn’t get the chance to eat at Llama. So when our friend invited us to his wedding, which was in the same area, we knew we had to come a day early and have dinner here. I had never had Peruvian cuisine before this and wow, have I been missing out. The ceviche was delectable—I particularly liked the pieces of sweet potato and giant corn. My fiancé got the Mas y Terra as her entree and, I am not exaggerating when I say this, it was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten. Make sure to ask for a side of their rocoto pepper hot sauce! The desserts were equally impressive and visually stunning. We particularly enjoyed the Queso Helado. This place is an absolute treat and I’d recommend it to anyone.
Excellent food and service.
Llama is my favorite restaurant for a special date night! Everythingis amazing, food, service and Playlist make the experience oe to never forget :)
Likely one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my lifetime. Authentic, exquisite, unforgettable. I look forward to trying more in the near future.
Undoubtedly, one of the best restaurants I have been to. Food, presentation, service was top notch.
We were not disappointed! Everything about this adorable restaurant was 💯💯. Honestly from the minute we stepped in the door, the service was impeccable, timely not hovering (which I hate) the food was a roll eyes heavenly. Keep up the good work we will be back (from CT) BTW the MAR Y TIERRA
Was Spectacular and I believe it's my favorite😋
We arrived an hour late for our reservation due to a traffic stoppage.
WORTH THE WAIT.
This is Michelin-level food and presentation; it is obvious that great, great thought went into every choice. This is South American cuisine done at an exceptionally high level, the kind of restaurant where a tiny bowl of eucalyptus leaves is lit next to an entree to provide smoky ambiance; where a custard is topped with a delicate tower of spun sugar; where I had to stop the waiter from taking away a bowl of ceviche because the last acidic, spicy spoonful HAD to be eaten.
Five Big Stars.
Amazing the whole experience from beginning to end. The service was far better then some 5 star restaurants. It had an at home feeling with class. Even the other customers were friendly and kind
Llama was wonderful. I loved the choreography of the two main servers. (The best restaurants work like this.) The decor was cool, and the food was awesome. If you like mushrooms, try the mushroom ceviche. Do make reservations—they have limited table space. Not to be missed.
We were lucky to snag a reservation at this 28-seat restaurant. The food and service were both remarkable. I even got my husband to give the beef heart appetizer a try. He loved it and is still talking about it. His surf and turf entree, and my fish entree, were both terrific. The helado for dessert was OUT OF THIS WORLD good...best ice cream we have ever had. Overall, hats off to Llama!!
Very authentic feel, great food; small portions though ... drinks are great !
What an unbelievable restaurant! Cannot recommend it more. It is a small place however, so reservations are best.
We had a wonderful meal this evening at the Llama. I ordered the Paiche which was an amazing fish dish. It included a sauce and several small sides which were all delicious dipped in the sauce. It was served on a stone which was also very interesting. My husband ordered the surf and turf equivalent which was hangar steak and shrimp on pasta. It was also delicious, and just enough food to feel satisfied.
We will absolutely return and highly recommend.
Cornish hen was good but on the dry side. It was saved by the great sauce.
The food and service were superb. I will definitely go back.
Wonderful meal, great service, charming ambiance. Wish we were local to visit every week!
2nd Annual Birthday dinner for my husband. He adores the ceviche there. Scallop appetizer was THE BEST. Both dinners were delicious. Service is always excellent. Quiet little gem of a restaurant.
It was our very first time enjoying Peruvian cuisine. We simply loved it. Llama made us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend!
Great food. Great service. Loved the beef hearts. Nice ambience.
Loved it and our waiter was super. Had a couple of ceviche and the octopus to start and the surf and turf and 'risotto' for entrees. All very tasty.
Food was delicious! We ordered Anticucho, Arroz con pollo & Tierra y Mar wow! Will be back soon. Service was awesome
One of the better meals I’ve had in a while. Maybe even one of the better experience I’ve had. Super fresh and clean dishes. Great atmosphere and overall vibe. A small location with its own authentic and local feel. Would visit this restaurant multiple times over and can’t wait to come back to St Augustine to try it again! Plates were both visually pleasing while be complex and simple at the same time. If you are looking for an experience this is the place to go!
Tried this based on recent news, and I wish I would have tried it much much sooner! Absolutely amazing little neighborhood place, and the staff was as great as the food. Totally interesting options and all with the uniqueness of Peru itself. The ceviche was absolutely wonderful, fresh and authentic! I had the quinotto which changed my opinion of quinoa! Basically risotto made with quinoa with shrimp, mussels and prawns. It was wonderful and one of my new favorites!
The place is small but quaint. The crowd was all respectful of wearing masks until at table, and this made us happy. The staff is exceptional and attentive.
Can’t wait to go back again, very soon.
