Today was my friend and I first time dining and all I can say is the food was amazing and the service was excellent. LizzyJ was very professional and very friendly. I really recommend this restaurant and will be back
It’s always a great and pleasant experience! Fresh food and great service is delivered each time I’m here! Love the ambiance !
What an absolutely wonderful spot. I live I the area and had been meaning to try. So glad I finally did. We also got to meet Lizzy herself and she is a gem! Amazing food and service. Will be back.
The food was good and people were friendly. However, we were pressured to leave a little over an hour in because someone was waiting for our table. The restaurant is very small, so I completely understand why this is now that I've visited, but it wouldn't be my choice for brunch as a result. Also, the food took a little while to come out, so it felt very rushed at the end - we were still eating when the host brought the check and let us know someone was waiting. So, I recommend this restaurant for a quick breakfast if you're in the area and don't plan to sit and linger too long.
Great food, and the service matched! I will certainly be back
I understand that these are hard times for restaurants, i do. And everyone is under pressure. But when we got there and was seated after calling to make a reservation and was told i had to do it on Open table, with a Cancellation fee of $25. And after sitting down, I was told that they only had 2 items on the menu. (Not even the biscuits that i has been craving.) I just wished i had been informed before having to make the reservation that the menu was so limited.
You could tell the waiter was doing his best, but he was very stressed and i didn’t want to make his day any worse.
After all of that.... i think i could have made something better at home without the frustration.
Wonderful food. Kind & comfortable atmosphere. They come to ask additional questions about any dietary restrictions after you place your order to ensure you fully understand what goes into their dishes. The grits were my favorite. Service was excellent! I luv their upbeat attitudes, the welcoming vibe and the openness of the everyone who works there. Lastly, I could not believe this gem cranks out a plethora of tasty menu items from a succulent sweet potato waffle and as I was told and AGREE, the best grits in town! I’ll definitely go back!
Friendly service, great food, small, cozy spot! You'll love it!
The Catfish and Grits are AMAZING!
The food and the service was great. Also, the owner is very nice and welcoming.
It was so delicious and affordable. I will definitely be back for the shrimp and grits
Great place, wonderful people watch out for BYOB charge. I brought a $3 bottle of martinelli’s and BYOB was like $9 prettt disappointing.
The greatest experience I've had at an establishment in forever. The food, ambiance, and attention to our needs were all beyond exceptional.
We made a reservation, and upon arrival, they had a table ready for us. The order process was seamless with use of the QR code.
The food was PHENOMENAL. The grits were a combination of perfect temperature and consistency; which is a rarity at restaurants. The chicken, actually, let me reiterate, THE CHICKEN, was soo good it had to be ordered twice in the same sitting. We were also clued into an off menu item, which were salmon croquettes. WOW, an actual party of flavor on the palette.
The personal touch that put the entire experience over the top, was the acknowledgement of our anniversary. They played one of my wife's favorite songs, and the song selections thereafter were great!
If you haven't already made a reservation at this point, just go ahead and do so now.
Also, make sure to try the Jus Peachy tea!!
Food was great! Waiter was amazing!
A really great place. I highly recommend for brunch/lunch.
It was pretty good I had the lamb chops they were tender and seasoned really well. Also, the breakfast bowl was delicious. However, the caramel walnut apple French toast was disappointing. I expected the apples to be cooked down they weren't. After I got passed the uncooked apples I bit into the french toast it had a weird after taste reminiscent of mold maybe it was licorice flavor.
Lizzy J Cafe will always be the first option for food!!
My experience was outstanding. The owner Lizzie was persona and very friendly. The chief was also very nice and most of all the food was delicious, hot and it didn’t take all day to receive your order. I took my brother Charles here for his birthday and we had a remarkably good time. The restaurant is quaint and charming. However, the clientele were warm and friendly. Lizzy is a must you should put on your restaurant list to visit.
The food is really good, and the staff are very attentive to your needs. The only thing I didn't like is that a lot of items I would've wanted were sold out for the day and it was only noon. Besides that, everything was great and I would visit again but earlier in the day to guarantee I can taste everything I would want to try. I also highly recommend making a reservation due to the dining area having limited space.
Food was wonderful! Syrup for waffles had a sweet kick to it, perfect with the chicken. Catfish dish was also great. Grits were perfect, perfect texture. Nice space, not too loud, cute space.
Excellent food! I had the catfish with cheddar grits and hot chili oil. Nice prompt service as well.
Such delicious food. Go early so you can get access to the full menu. The red velvet waffles and chicken. Delicious 🤤
What a gem! The food is freshly prepared and cared for, making it so unbelievably delicious. Catfish and grits, red velvet waffle and chicken—yes and more yes!! So, so divine. Reservations highly recommended.
Great food; can't wait to go back. And it's BYOB!
Absolutely pleasant. Food was outstanding as usual. Customer service was top notch, food was very timely and fresh.
I had a wonderful time A1 customer service! My girls and I decided to come and support this wonderful woman after meeting her at another event! The food was excellent the ambiance was wonderful those red velvet waffles are the truth, the lamb chops were on point my daughter an sister loved the shrimp and grits!! Definitely making our way back again!!!! Thank you Lizzy J for great comfort and soulful food!!
Granted this was a pop up and things are going to be heck but it took over an hour for drinks. My guest enjoyed the blackened catfish, the salmon croquette was essentially grill burned tasting, as was the steak. The steak (which I had) was not seasoned, with salt or anything, the potatoes were ok but were sparse but looked like they were the tiny cubed frozen ones you get from the grocery store. The best thing we all agreed on were the lemon ricotta pancakes and compote. When drinks did come they were very tasty.
Made a reservation for 11:15, said 15 minutes grace period or else $25 per person charge, fine. Got there at 11:20 and was asked to wait for 5-10 minutes. Do I get a discount after that..? Looked at menu, they were "out of stock" of most items. When questioned, the waiter said there was a 400 catering gig and they were closing two earlier at 1pm because of it. Take your pick, cater, or have a restaurant, or, better yet, improve your supply chain so that you can do both rather than open another location in gold coast! Stay away, not run sustainably!
We had a horrible experience!!! I don’t appreciate the fact that we sat for at least 2 1/2 hours before the kitchen realized that the first 8 tables to arrive hadn’t received their food. The only way I found this out is because I spoke to Lizzy herself, prior to that, no one said anything they just kept saying the food was coming. Our waitress provided excellent service with what she had to work with. Not to mention my reservation was at 10:45 again, I was told by Lizzy that the 1st 8 tables orders never made to the kitchen and they we out of French toast. We received our food at about 12:40 after at least 3 tables of people had actually left because we were not given an explanation as to what was going on. I ordered the kitchen and waffles, I made it extremely clear that I have medical conditions and could not eat ANYTHING spicy but, why did I receive spicy syrup which eventually made me sick!!!!! I had to ask for a manager twice, Lizzy eventually came over.
I would never make a scene or even argue with her, I appreciate her coming over to finally provide an explanation. I love to support BOB. Lizzy as well as the manager that eventually came as well asked what they could do, they should have been telling me how they would accommodate me and my family for our time and patience not to mention the food wasn’t the best. They offered a drink but I don’t drink! At some point I received the second order of food and it was over cooked, just rushed. I asked them could they adjust my bill they didn’t even offer to do that, they removed my meal. I am never looking for something for nothing but I feel be they could have done better with the first 6 that hung in there because 2 or 3 tables left! I didn’t wanna post this because I am still going to support us and I don’t to taint someone else’s experience I just won’t attempt to support Lizzy again. We left the restaurant after 1 pm after waiting another 30 minutes for our bill. -Andrea
Most of the options normally being offered were all sold out even though we were the first ones there. Still we had amazing food though with great service.
Unfortunately we left after waiting over an hour w/o receiving any food. Our reservation was for 10am, so I'm uncertain how the kitchen was behind at the beginning of this event.
The food was wonderful as always. The staff was friendly and professional. The restaurant decor was nice and comfortable.
Food was fresh, hot, and delicious as always! 10 out of 10
We had an amazing time! A friend of ours referred us to the restaurant and the dining experience was one to remember.
Overall it’s just not much of an experience. Ordering through an app you are the one taking your tables order or passing the phone around. Any dishes that seemed interesting were out of stock on a Saturday morning. The dishes we did order were just okay, kind of greasy and really soupy grits. The teas were so sweet they aren’t drinkable. I wanted to like it but there could really be some improvements.
Lizzy J is amazing! I've done pick-up orders and now eat in and it's been great Everytime. They have some of the best syrups for their waffle dishes, too. Highly, highly recommend. Their prices are so good for how fantastic the food is!
Great experience...service was outstanding and food options were great.
Food and service was great. Lizzy J even stopped by to chat and take pictures of us
The service was TOP NOTCH! I mistakenly made a reservation for the wrong day, but my party was accommodated almost immediately. The owner, Jamie, came over to our table repeatedly to ensure that we were taken care of. The food! Sweet Lawd hammercy! I’ll be dreaming about it! I will recommend this establishment to EVERYONE THAT I KNOW. My friends and I have already made reservations for a day party on October 3rd. So excited to come back!
