Lizzie's Cafe & Bistro 142nd St.
Lizzie’s is a great place to relax and dine. Family run restaurant and the food is delicious. Great shabby chic decor. Cathy, Neil and Matt are personable and welcoming. It is like going to a friends house for dinner. We go there every time we are at the beach.
This was my second time here and I was disappointed. My rib Eye was overcooked. The waiter did ask if I wanted to send it back, but I am Leary about sending food back. My friends dinner was good. However, it was my birthday and no one acknowledged it, even though I said it was a birthday when I booked, so I was a little disappointed.
Small place with little ambience but the waitress Kathy was excellent and made for an enjoyable meal with very good food. The tab is well prepared and if you have crab cakes expect the tab to run $100-$125 .
This is a family restaurant that really works hard to make your experience a great one. Great service, atmosphere, and food!
Another great meal! This time, breakfast. Had Maryland eggs Benedict. Lots of crab! Ask to have it on Challah bread. Fantastic! Look forward to next meal there.
Thank you for the review, Joe! And thank you for all your business! You've been a huge support to us this year! Hope to see you again soon! Make sure to check our schedule and hours as they'll be changing soon for the off-season. Always best to check with the website! Sincerely, Matt
Our experience was great! Cathie welcomed us as if this were her home and made us comfortable. Matt was very knowledgeable and gave us great advice on wine and food. The bread was delicious, accompanied with an order of lobster Mac and cheese. This was followed by specials of the evening , the Bronzino and Rib eye steak, which we shared. Both were very good, and we especially enjoyed the flavorful way the Bronzino was prepared. We had a very nice Pinot Noir recommended by Matt that took full advantage of their half off First bottle Saturdays. At the end we had espresso, and tea and the double chocolate chip cookie sundae. Throughout dinner Matt and Cathie shared tidbits of information about their family’s restaurant. We would enjoy seeing more information about the family and how Lizzie’s came to be on their website. This is a great find for dinner and we will return next time we are in Ocean City, if not before for breakfast! We may stop by for the lobster roll that we’ve heard so much of.
Lynn, thank you for taking the time to write a review! We enjoyed having you and your husband! Please dine with us again! Sincerely, Matt
Matt and Cathie are amazing! Their food is awesome! Great service and simply a great treasure in OC!
Thank you, Pattie! This means a lot to us! We hope to see you again! Sincerely, Matt
Excellent. Great food and wonderful wait staff. Very enjoyable.
Thank you, Karen! Your review means a lot to us! Have a great day! Sincerely, Matt
Over all the years I’ve travelled to Fenwick Island I just found this place about 3 years ago. I highly recommend this place. Never had anything bad. Everything is delicious. Great people. Thanks Lizzie’s!
Yes, that's great to hear! Thank you for your rating & review! Hope to see you next time! Sincerely, Matt
As always everything was excellent. You definitely get what you paid for. No matter what meal the food is just delicious. The service is impeccable. I feel like family when I dine at Lizzie’s. I love telling friends and acquaintances about dining there. Keep up the great work. ❤️❤️👋👋
Food was uneven- crab soup was average- slightly overpriced for amount received- crab cakes were excellent- possibly best in Ocean City- Filet Bernaise was poor- beef tasted as if it were previously frozen- bernaise sauce was good but not enough for the dish- the loose crabmeat with the dish was plentiful but dry- price for the filet dish was high & not worth it - cute place- good ambiance but came away disappointed
Thank you for your critique. We're going to talk with the team and work on everything mentioned here. Hope to see you in the future for another visit. Sincerely, Matt
What a great surprise and dinner experience! Excellent food, service and a great time meeting the owner. If you are in north OC please don’t drive by one of the best dinners that I have had anywhere!
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. A nice escape from the usual beach crowd for a quite dinner.
Our dinner at Lizzie’s was wonderful. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the crab imperial. Both were great, and we love that they come with expertly-made baked potatoes. The staff is lovely, and even the background music is good. Lizzie’s has become a must-have dinner reservation whenever we’re in Ocean City.
Service excellent...Food was delicious....hot....and fresh...One of the Best places to eat in Ocean city if you want a first class chef and made to order....all prepared specically for you.....also very clean...
Lovely family owned restaurant. A true personal touch to the entire experience. Meant for couples or small groups. Food was freshly prepared to our requests. Barrata was delicious. Desserts look fabulous.
We went for dinner , had delicious crab cake platter with veggie and baked potato!! Also, had the lobster Connecticut style , fantastic!!!
I love this place, I feel like I am in a small restaurant in New England somewhere!!
We were very impressed with the menu, food quality, and service. We went back two more times, once more for breakfast and then dinner. Best steak I’ve ever had, and the lobster roll was amazing. The maple bacon pecan pancakes were excellent. And the sticky bun and chocolate cake....oh my. I love that this is family owned business and it was great meeting the owners. We will definitely go back next time we visit Ocean City.
They ran out of branzino for our 7:15 pm dinner reservation. Then they overcooked our medium steak (brown center) and actually gave it back to us saying it was cooked to temperature. Then they ran out of steaks too. My husband ended up not eating any entree. We had to leave and go elsewhere for his dinner a couple hours later because of the wait to discover all this. We were disappointed at the lack of customer service.
Your food is very good and the atmosphere is very homey. Service was fine, but your entree' prices are too high. Most are around $30.00 or more. We may not return. Thank You.
Amazing people and amazing food !!
Me and my family will definitely return very soon !!
We had a fabulous dinner at Lizzie's. Great service. Great atmosphere. It is loud when it is busy, but the restaurant itself is small. We will definitely be back!
Simply the best find in Ocean City. The place and the food rock!!! Can’t wait to dine there again.
Loved this place! The staff were friendly and very attentive. We loved the family feel and bistro vibe. The food was excellent! Wonderful menu to choose from. I will return every time we visit OCMD. We are sorry we have not visited sooner. You will not be disappointed.
A simply marvelous and quite unexpected experience. Entrees were perfection. Delightful and dedicated staff and extremely attentive service from the entire team. Looking forward to a return visit.
Wonderful evening with my wife in a one of a kind OCMD restaurant. Food was great. Service was attentive in this special family-run restaurant.
For those who are unfamiliar with Lizzie’s, expect a leisurely evening in a gastro pub type setting. And plan to get a babysitter, as unlike most other OCMD restaurants Lizzie’s caters to an adult dining experience. And as such, does not have a kid’s menu.
Our first time here. It is a family owned restaurant, husband in the kitchen wife and son waiting on customers. They both stopped to talk to us and tell us about the restaurant. A pretty restaurant with a bar area. They serve Breakfast, lunch and dinner. My husband had the crab cakes which he said were great, and he would come back for more. I had the crab imperial which I also enjoyed. Looking forward to a return visit.
This place is fantastic! I am so happy I found this place couple years ago. Food is excellent. They take their time but we’ll worth the wait. I went for dinner and had salmon with crab imperial than breakfast to have lobster benedict also avocado toast. Everything was delish. This place was a great find. Owners and help very nice people.
What a wonderful restaurant! Delicious food and genuine/kind staff. We left happy :)
Very modest building set slightly back from Coastal Highway between 142nd and 143rd.
Nice welcome and excellent service throughout. The kitchen team got a bit ahead of themselves and were ready with our main courses while we were still in middle of starters but that was the only hiccup.
Definitely a place for local food lovers - virtually the whole menu has mention of crab, shrimps or salmon which was an issue for my son - dragged along for the evening - he was well-satisfied though with his meatballs, rib-eye steak and cookie /ice-cream/cream dessert. I managed to control myself and had 2 courses - crabcake and lobster roll. I had never tried either thing before and they were both excellent.
In addition to the food we had 2 local beers, 2 glasses of decent American Chardonnay and a coke. Bill was $150 plus service. Probably more than I was expecting to pay but all in all a really good meal. I would definitely go back.
First visit, won’t be our last. The establishment is homelike and thoughtfully decorated. Server was wonderful from first visit to table through end of meal. Food was amazing! We had Lobster roll, the special of filet and crab cake and bread pudding for dessert. Was a memorable dining experience full of flavors and goodness. Sorry we did not find Lizzie’s sooner.
Small restaurant with a very nice atmosphere, good food and excellent service. Will definitely be back!
The crab imperial was excellent and the service was excellent. The staff was very friendly. Definitely my new go to spot every time I visit OC
Wonderful food and service. The owner and chef were very friendly, skilled and accommodating. Wonderful breakfast and looking forward to dinner there sometime soon.
The food at Lizzie’s is excellent! A fun and kitschy decor. We go every time we go to OC.
We had a lovely meal here. It's a quaintly decorated cafe with several tables, a nice sized bar and a good menu selection. We had dinner, but cant wait to try a breakfast and lunch here. We tried the appetizer trio meatballs and they were delicious in a marinara sauce. The bacon salad was huge and came with beautiful slices of bacon on it. Enough for 2. Then we split a surf and turf, with a tenderloin and crabcakes. Being an Eastern Shore girl, I'm picky about my crabcakes and it didnt disappoint. My daughter had the steak and brought leftovers home. It was cooked perfectly and came with garlic herb butter, which was enough to also put on the baked potato and asparagus. We both came in hungry and left feeling completely satisfied. I also had 2 splits of Champagne. The bill was reasonable for all we had. The service was top notch. Matt took great care of us! We can't wait to go back. Reservations recommended, and I would've loved to have sat at the bar, but was with my underage daughter. Next time, I'll bring my girlfriends and enjoy more of the wine list.
Lizzie’s is a real gem. The food is delicious and owners are very friendly. Feels like that place you always want to return too. The lobster rolls and lobster salad are the best I’ve had since visiting New England a few years ago. You can’t go wrong here!
Food was amazing and high quality. Service very good and friendly! Recommend the salmon and the crab imperial. They serve wine and beer, quiet atmosphere and nice bar area. We will be back!
We loved Lizzie's. Food was great, as was the service. Cute place. Wish we were staying longer so that we could have tried lunch and breakfast as well. The breakfast menu looked especially good. Mihai was our server and we could not have found him more helpful.
