Some of the favorite items on the menu at Livia’s Dish include the roasted turkey panini, Tuscan steak and cheese panini, feta burger, roasted salmon and fettuccini Bolognese. For dessert, people who like sweets might want to try the homemade cannoli, chocolate panini or the chocolate strawberry skewers.
Decided to try this restaurant because it earns me 1000 points. That said, I was expecting a bit more. It felt a little bit like a good breakfast / lunch spot.
This was a dinner date with my husband and it didn't have great ambiance. The lights could be turned down more.
The food was excellent.
Homemade soup everyday and a 5.00 mix drink and app. deal on Friday nights-you can't go wrong here and the food was awesome as well as a very friendly staff
First time here after reading reviews in the paper. We went for dinner before a show at the Hanover Theater (less than 10 minutes down the street). The restaurant was busy and filled up quickly. The interior was a nice family restaurant atmosphere. They did have a kids menu (not shown online). Couldn't resist the fresh bread and the hummus. The lamb was very moist and flavorful. The veggies were nice and crisp. The service was friendly.
We had read a review in the local paper about Livia's so decided to try it. It is excellent food and very friendly service. We will definitely go back and recommended it already to other food loving friends. The mussels dish was exceptional; the lasagna excellent albeit enough for a couple more meals this week!
The only negative: the table next to us that came in after we did had bread brought to the table before us. The food was awesome. we were both very happy with our meals. We both liked the lay out with the two different levels and the bar sandwiched in the middle. Very clean. Outside of the bread mention before the staff was great.
We were seeing a play nearby and had a nice dinner beforehand here
Well presented and deliciously prepared
Entres served in a cozy atmosphere at moderate
My wife and I checked out Livia's because local and sounded good (plus was worth 1000 points! )
However, when first entered almost turned around, as was pretty empty. Interior very dated and disjointed, but were greeted by one of owners who was very nice and told us the story (just started with dinner was a breakfast and lunch only)
Her two recommendations (lamb shank for me and chicken special fir my wife)
Were 50/50 (lamb incredible, chicken so so), big recommendation to owners is if want to serve dinner need to spend some $ to update interior to give people a reason to check out.
All of our food was exceptional. The side delishes were great and full of flavor. We were pleasantly surprised.
The dishes were amazing; fresh and well prepared. I would categorize the menu as a bit limited but well rounded. Mediterranean for sure but not traditional Italian. Well worth the trip!
Loved it all, except I would have liked more choices on the menu. Will go back and recommend to others.
Very impressive in all aspects..delicious dinner, great service, nice ambiance, quiet..I look forward to my next dinner out.
We went to Livia's for Father's Day for breakfast - our first time. We had been for dinner, but not for breakfast. We were very pleased with everything our group ordered - will definitely return!
On The website this looked really good. It was very ordinary. The special panini were not even grilled properly to be called panini. They were tasteless sandwiches.
Great food and great service! A lovely hidden gem!!
Tried Livia's Dish after reading a review in the paper. Food was fresh, tasty and well presented.
Waitress was very accomodating and friendly without being pushy.
All in all, a very good experience. Will go back to try breakfast.
This seems a popular neighborhood place (breakfast, lunch, and dinner some days), with a somewhat upscale ambiance. We were there for dinner and the food was very well prepared: a chicken and eggplant stack and a lasagne bolognese that tasted nicely of chicken liver. Salads were thoughtfully prepared and good. Some nice light house-made bread and hummus was provided for the table.
What a great find! A comfortable, classy, friendly Italian restaurant with excellent food carefully prepared and presented. Nothing fancy, but nothing shabby about it, either. Easy to find (Main St., past Clark U, heading towards the Leicester line). Two of us had drinks, appetizer, entree, for less than $60 (not including tip). Service was attentive and congenial without being over-bearing. It seemed quiet for a Saturday evening -- perhaps Livia's Dish has not yet been 'discovered' as a night spot? All in all, this restaurant has everything going for it: casual yet polished atmosphere, good menu, reasonable prices, off-street parking. It could easily become our go-to spot when we're too tired to cook!
Good elegant restaurant, good for couples, family and meets; very versatile.
We were a late seating at 1 PM. They booked reservations until 2. By the time we got there the buffet area was a mess, the amount of grease in the bacon pan rendered the bacon inedible. We wanted to try this place for Easter but were delayed until Mother's Day. Hopefully their menu provides a better dining experience.
This was our first time at this restaurant. It was okay... food was fair or as my husband said "marginal".
We went for Mother's Day brunch, which I'm guessing is the reason that everything was so mediocre. When we arrived for our reservation there was another party at our table, I believe that they had overstayed their welcome and so the staff had to scramble to find us a table. They put one together right by the server's station. We were so close that the setvers kept bumping into us. By the time brunch was over my purse which had been hanging on the back of my chair was covered in water and coffee. The brunch was served buffet style in warming trays, so everything from the waffles and home fries to the overlooked roast beef was really dry and not delicious. I'm hoping its just because it was a holiday. Not sure if we'll try Livia's again.
I was drawn by the Mother's Day Brunch and made a reservations for 6. Parking is limited, and the location is a bit odd. We arrived 10 minutes early and were seated immediately. Service was excellent, we never felt rushed to leave. I felt at home and comfortable. The food was amazing, very fresh. Portions in the buffet were just the right size, nothing too big. There were so many little details which brought this restaurant to outstanding. I cannot wait to go back.
Went for dinner and breakfast not one negative to say about either experience. Love the freshness of the food and the enviroent is very warm.
We arrived late for lunch/brunch on a Sunday afternoon. The place was empty except for one table. We all had panini's with homemade frites. The ingredients were fresh and the frites very thin and crispy. However, alot of the food was very salty and I like salt! One person had the pancakes which were light and tasty. The prices were reasonable and they offered free refills on the sodas. The service was decent, not great and the food was a tad slow -- they never offered bread or water during the wait.
All in all I think it has great potential, would give it a try for sure for dinner.
Tried Livia's Dish for the first time - very pleased, and will definitely go again.
Livia's Dish was great. The food was amazing as well as the service. We went for dinner, and I will definitely be back to try the breakfast.
Tucked away near the Leicester line, many may miss this great find. we went on Valentine Day so there was a special menu that included a complimentary glass of champagne. Wonderful setting in the converted first floor of a triple decker.
Excellent fresh food. Service is excellent.
A small restaurant tucked into a neighborhood that matches some of the best restaurants in major cities. Excellent food and great service. A real find.
It is nice to have a classy little restaraunt in the area that is also kid friendly.
