Always a good meal. Love this place
Went during Restaurant Week. The fixed meal was wonderful. Good variety in the menu at a fair price..
Restaurant week. I checked special menu online and it sounded delicious. My son and I enjoyed a nice meal and great service in a cozy environment.
We will be back.
Great food and service. We had a small group with a newborn. We were well taken care of, and had a cozy corner booth. The fact that it’s on the lower level makes it less impressive than Elmhurst location (where I frequent often and live).
We took advantage of the Geneva restaurant week menu, great food for a great value.
Visited for the Geneva Restaurant week and the menu did not disappoint! The spicy octopus was delicious, followed by a small green salad and then the purse mushroom pasta - WOW - left there happy and full!
Place, food and service are great. The problem is the space. It’s very small and that makes it uncomfortable. There was a lot of unintentional pushing to get everyone sit down.
Is one of our favorite places to eat. Love the flat breads with cauliflower crust and the warm burrata.
There was a horrible snow storm that night so I had to push our reservation back because my commute took 14 years but they were extremely accommodating. Our server was wonderful, made fabulous and delicious suggestions. We loved it! Save room for the chocolate cake and gelato!
We went to dinner with a few couples the other night and as always the drinks were awesome, the food fantastic and we even got dessert so share (which we never do)! Thank you so much for a nice snowy evening!
Very enjoyable evening, great food and service
The server was very good. The food unfortunately was awful. Seven people Five different entrees and all were almost inedible.
Great place. It gets just a bit loud during busy times.
All other rankings - great.
Always an outstanding experience at Livia! Absolutely a must stop if ever in the Geneva area. I have never been disappointed with the Cuisine, and the service is always first rate.
During this visit we dined in the bar area for happy hour and then later dined in the dining room area for dinner. We had two great experiences. $5 house wines and an excellent $6 flat bread (wild mushroom) for the happy hour snack. We had Roasted Salmon and Hoisin Pork Chop entrees for dinner, and decaf coffee with a complimentary gelato dessert for my birthday celebration. Food and service were excellent.
Nice birthday lunch for a colleague. Service could be a tad quicker but overall experience was pleasant with great food. They accommodate food allergies pretty well too.
Love the taste of their bread, lobster bisque, wedge salad with parmasean dressing, lasagna, stuffed pasta shells and tiramisu! Very happy with service and environment too!
Happy Hour is great! Good wine, great food and awesome friends! Highly recommend the mushroom flatbread with cauliflower crust!
Overall great experience! Wine was recommended by server and excellent! Our food was a bit salty but not inedible. Good food, good friendly service and overall great ambiance!
New Year- Full of energy, lively atmosphere. Excellent food, great service.
Seems overpriced for what you get. Had the lobster bisque, it was grainy and had a miniscule amount of lobster. Goat gnocchi was good, but overpriced.
Messy and small portion of tiramisu.
We felt incredibly rushed. The salads came out when we were only half done with the appetizer, and the same thing happened with the main meal. Food was good but the service really disappointed us.
Yummy food all the time!!
Always go to dinner on Christmas Eve with the family. We have changed it up the last few years with different venues and this was by far the best per our adult children. The food was great as always but being more intimate that most along with not feeling rushed made it fabulous. One of my wife's and my favorite restaurants.
Our server was very nice however she did not check in with us enough... we had to ask other servers going past for bread,& another cocktail and salt & pepper.... I ordered lasagna which smelled delicious however was so hot it was not edible ..I did take it home and ate following day
We had a lovely delicious meal. Great service by a very attentive wait staff. We will be back!
Service was slow and not all that good. We sat at a table for 4 and any time someone would lean on the table it would start to flip over. In addition, we had a table for 2 so close I could rest my elbow on it. I know they felt uncomfortable talking with four of us basically sitting at their table. And last, as usual, the food was excellent.
Everyone seemed okay with her meal. However, I ordered the filet medallions with a Caesar salad. I requested that my meat, medium rare because I don't like it when they cook the love out of it. I also asked that my salad not have Caesar dressing but ranch on the side because I like to control how much dressing goes on my salad. My salad came with Caesar dressing on it already and the steak they gave me could not have been fillet. It was more like a round steak. I make filet all the time at home and I know the consistency of a filet it's the only type of red meat I eat... That wasn't filet. But it was good company and our service was awesome! Still love the place, just wish they would be forthright with a selection of meat. As well as train their Cooks on what medium rare really is...
Livia never disappoints! The lasagna, meatballs and tiramisu were delicious. Our server was warm and friendly without hovering. Early dining is definitely the way to go...closely placed tables at peak times make conversation and navigating to the door difficult.
Fantastic food and good service. Well worth the wait on a busy Saturday evening.
Everyone in our party loved their meal--and the portions were very generous. This is one of our favorite dinner spots in the western suburbs, and the atmosphere is particularly inviting during the fall and winter months.
Great, friendly service, good food recommendations from the server and delicious food! A great place for a holiday dinner with friends!
Noisy since it was a Friday night, but manager did a wonderful job of accommodating us to a table that was next to the bar but not too noisy to for us to have conversations. Our waitress was charming, attentive and very knowledgable of their menu. Most of us had the roasted beet salad and eggplant parmesan, and they were delicious! One of the friends in our group said she was so excited to hear I had picked Livia for our gathering, since she had been there several times in the past and never had a bad meal. I will definitely be back!!!
Sat at the bar and shared the chicken & faro salad and the mushroom flatbread. Both were fantastic! They also make a great Old Fashion with fresh rosemary. Favorite place to eat in Geneva!!
We are local and treat ourselves to Livia on occasion. Staff is great and we love the ambiance and of course the food.
We have frequented Livia in Geneva before and were delighted with our meal and the service. We revisted the restaurant this past weekend and I will say that they hit the mark again. I ordered the lasagna this time and I will tell you that if I had an Italian grandmother from the old country, this lasagna is what I imagine hers would taste like. First off, we had reservations and despite the restaurant being very crowded, we were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time. The hostess was very nice, the bar had a nice collection of wine and beer. Our waiter was fantastic, attentive and overall made our experience wonderful. The food was excellent and I recommend the honey ricotta appetizer, it's out of this world. While our culinary experience is somewhat limited at Livia, what we have had has been very good. The dining room is quaint and just a little claustrophobic and it was a bit noisy that evening but not enough to detract us from the delicious cuisine. We had the brownie desert with Kalua fudge which was an outstanding way to end our experience. Well worth a try if your looking for a casual but trendy place to experience quality service and an outstanding meal. The prices were well in line for the quality experience we enjoyed and if your planning on visiting on the weekend, I would recommend a reservation. Enjoy!
It’s always wonderful
My first visit here and it was great! I'm vegetarian and ordred the Tortalacci Vodka without the Prosciutto. It was one of the best Italian dishes ever. Full of flavor with a spicy kick. They also had many other options for vegetarians so I'm sure I will be returning. Atmosphere was also nice with a hip feel.
Everyone was so nice and took great care of us. Our waiter was good too, there were just a few oddities, like bringing a glass for my husband but not pouring any wine into it, after he had had a beer.
We arrived well before our reservation but the hostess seated us where they had room. A very small high top table. Very busy and crowded. We asked our server when a larger more quiet table was available to move us. He checked with the hostess and we were moved to a large booth with any questions or displeasure. Our hostess checked with us to make sure we were happy. A great experience. Over and above in a very crowded restaurant.
