Love the choice of cauliflower crust on the flatbread. The chicken limone with sweet potatoes and green beans was excellent. Ricotta cheesecake for dessert an excellent choice; nicely topped with a berry sauce. Our waitress was excellent in every way. Definitely recommend this place.
We will definitely be back. The service was as great as the food, nice pairing!

Not worth the money for the portions.
First time trying this restaurant and it will be the last. Waitstaff seems disorganized and untrained. We waited 10 minutes for menus and another 10 minutes to place our orders. Waiter did not check on us during 1st course or at all until the end of the meal. I tried to wave him over and even made eye contact but he still completely ignored our table. Our food was served warm, not hot. The complimentary bread was served at the end of the meal. Really wanted to like this restaurant but would rather spend my money on The North Shore for better food and high quality service.
It was restaurant week and it was busy, but we waited for menus, drinks and food was served cold Didn’t have entree ordered on prefixe dinner, even though it was ordered an hour before it was to be served. Server did not appear happy with us.
There was a bridal shower going on at the time so until the doors closed off that part of the room it was quite loud. And the food came out slower than usual although we hadn’t noticed until the waiter and manager both apologized to us which was really nice. The food was incredible and well worth the wait.
Liked the restaurant week menu. Had a great meal at Livia on Thursday, mussels, wild boar ragu and lobster bisque. Friday’s meal was not as good. The pork belly and the wild boar ragu were barely warm. Service started strong but finished very slowly. On the bright side, the manager was very responsive, had a good explanation and gave us a gift card to come back. And, we will.
Excellent food (except for the slightly frozen tiramisu). Service was spotty, which was very unusual. Usually we have great service. We arrived on time for our Saturday at 6:30 reservation. We were seated right away, but then everything slowed down. We had to search for our server several times.
Love this neighborhood gem! Alex and Kathy are very attentive and watch the flow of the meal. Food is fresh, innovative, delicious. Stop in! It’s worth it.
The food was pretty good, but the service was outstanding. Our waiter was very attentive without being overbearing, as well as very speedy with bring out food, refills, etc. His demeanor was kind and professional. Unfortunately I do not remember his name, but he was the gentlemen with the longer wavy hair brought into a very clean ponytail.
Pretty disappointed in our visit. We have dined at the Livia in Geneva multiple times and really enjoyed our meals. We decided to try this location as we were in the area. The restaurant itself is very nice. The waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered the zucchini and mozzarella fritters for an appetizer to share. All we received was a lot of small pieces of cooked batter. There were only maybe two fritters in the appetizer and they were the size of a dime. We have ordered them at the Geneva location and know what they are supposed to look and taste like. Salads and soup were good. Filet medallions were supposed to be prepared medium and were actually rare. I could only eat a few bites of one of the medallions. Normally I would have asked the waiter if they could cook the medallions some more, but I wasn’t feeling well and we decided to leave. Unfortunately, I don’t think we will return to this location.
We had been waiting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. Food was great and even though there was a large birthday party going on one side of the dining room, our service was great and quick. I had the chicken Milanese and my fiancé had the lamb chops, we both were impressed. My fiancé’s only gripe was that they didn’t have Corona, (his fave anywhere we go) and he didn’t like the beer the waitress suggested instead, but not a big deal.
Waitress was not attentive or friendly. poor attitude. We felt she was preoccupied and didn’t want to be there

Jeanne was phenomenal. Food as always was great. Honey Ricotta and Zucchini fritters as started and had the butternut squash ravioli as my entree. Yummmmmm!
I met my date there for drinks and dinner. We sat in the bar area, was an excellent view of downtown Elmhurst. They have a full bar, and a wide variety of brands to choose from. We did order an appetizer, as well as dinner. The food came out in a timely fashion, looked very appealing, and tasted fresh. The bartender was a little bit busy,
So the service was a little bit slow, but not a problem because we were busy chatting away. The restaurant had a very nice modern Decour, yet still felt comfortable and cozy. This is an upscale Italian restaurant in downtown Elmhurst. There is easy parking close by.
Overall, a very nice restaurant and a great experience. We will certainly be going back.

First time eating there. It was delicious. The calamari appetizer is amazing. For the main entree I had the lasagne and my husband had the lobster and shrimp with pasta. We would both order these again.
Must have an old fashioned! Excellent food!
Sergio (I believe that was his name) was our bartender as we sat there during happy hour. He was phenomenal, he made us aware of their happy hour deal going on. He was attentive and even asked when we were splitting things if we would like them physically split. Which was so considerate and appreciative. We will definitely be going back to sit at the bar with Sergio. Great happy hour deals and great food!
Disappointed , you changed the cheese cake, was great now average to below average
The service was good as usual, but the kitchen made numerous mistakes on very simple requests. They sent out pasta with no sauce and a plate drowning in pasta water. Very atypical for this usually phenomenal italian spot.
Excellent food. The veal meatball appetizer is fantastic. Every entree is perfectly prepared.
Friendly service. Just the right amount of attention, available but not intrusive.

Food, drinks, and service were excellent, and it seemed to be a busy evening! Could not be happier with our experience.
Waitress did not bring bread. Had to ask. Had to keep reminding her I wanted glass of ice. Food my sister and brother in law had lamb chops. Everything on their plate cold. We went at 4pm no one there. How could food be cold. We took another couple out and it was a bad impression.
I was a bit disappointed this visit. We happened to get to the restaurant when it was still Happy Hour. A lot of confusion followed. The other couple with us were our guests there for the first time and the whole experience really fell flat. I’m not saying we won’t return but we won’t hurry back. Livia has some work to do in training their staff.
The service was excellent. The recommendations made by our wait staff person were spot on. With drinks the bill for four of us was just about right for a holiday lunch.
The only down check I give it, because I am hearing-impaired, is that is too ... darn ... loud. No soft surfaces I could see to mute the noise level. Perhaps that is what some people enjoy.
I just wish it had been quieter.
Not library quiet, but a noise level that doesn't challenge the noise level reduction feature of my hearing device so much.
Great salads. Very healthy kale and quinoa with blackened salmon perfectly cooked. The spicy shrimp and arugula salad was fabulous.

Great food, waitstaff got backed up and we were brought our bill without being offered dessert.
We went here one time and really enjoyed it so we went back with the same six people and had a completely different experience. We asked to move our table which was too small for six and they said they would but never came back we had three different waiters over the course of the evening and at the end at 9:30 PM on a Saturday night had a waitress come over and basically let us know in no uncertain terms that it was time to leave because we were the last of two tables there. We were constantly missing utensils, plates and glasses as well. We will not be back
The beet salad was too notch. I'd love to get the recipe.
Service was excellent...Our waitress Susie was just the right combo of attentiveness and giving us time to leisurely enjoy our dinner.
The lasagna was very tasty too. We'll definitely come back.
PS The servings are large that I made meal of my leftovers.
...the eggplant parm was perfectly crisped; the accompanying linguine pesto was fresh and bright; the tomato sauce had a good zing
...the chicken saltimbocca was a moist flavor bomb; the light broth-based sauce was a perfect foil for creamy mashed potatoes
...portion sizes just right for midday
Our servers Jasmine and Ray did their jobs well enough, though some coordination between expectations of diners and capabilities/limitation of the kitchen would be helpful. We were first told that our dessert choice was unavailable; then told the chef would do it. We reminded our server of our time constraint and were reassured it was no problem. We waited and waited and waited, finally insisting that we pay our bill. But the manager was needed to take the dessert off the bill. So we waited longer, until she came with the corrected bill AND the dessert in a carry out tin. We’ll be back but when we have more leisure to wait...
Steak and Eggs Benedict was delish. So was the shrimp Bloody.

We love coming to Livia. When we are hungry but not enough for a whole meal we order the steak burger. It is out of this world and the potatoes yum. We usually split this meal. other times when we come to Livia every meal is delicious. I like trying their specials. This meal was sweet potato gnocci with a cream sauce. So, so good. The customer service from the time we walk in the door until we leave is supurb. Everyone smiles and makes us feel as though we are the most important guest they have. Thank you.
