We pride ourselves with having an extensive whiskey & wine list perfect for any occasion and make an amazing old fashioned with a different bourbon or rye barrels that we choose from different distilleries throughout the year.
Excellent food and service. Seasonal menu is amazing and the variety does not disappoint!
Ran out of one of the items on the menu which is my friend's favorite.
Everything was just delicious. Great attentive service. Will definitely be going back and recommending to friends.
Excellent food and service away from tourist areas. Would go back. Highly recommend.
Went to Livestock Tavern with my friend for her birthday lunch. I had been there once before and remembered the food was very good, so it made sense to go again for a special occasion. The restaurant was empty which allowed the staff to be extremely attentive. My friend had the salmon and was all smiles. She loved how the skin was crispy and the salmon tender and scrumptious. I had a french dip sandwich. It was wonderful. The prime rib practically melted in my mouth and the au jus was seasoned to perfection. Because it was my friend's birthday, she was served an ice cream sundae for dessert. I know I will be going back and likely very soon.
Great food, love the ambiance. Will definitely return for business and personal dining.
Let me preface the review with the fact that we are repeat customers at this establishment for good reason. They’re typically consistent in the high quality of food provided. This time, sadly, the food was underwhelming. The roast chicken was pale, not at all looking roasted (think soft, slimy chicken skin), and just bland compared to other dishes I have eaten there. Actually compared to every dish, because this was the first time I didn’t like something at Livestock! My husband had braised short ribs, equally bland and unsatisfying in flavor. Again, super uncharacteristic of past meals we’ve had here. Not worth the price at all. We were shocked.
Because service is so good, and we were tired, we didn’t send anything back. It might have been a fluke that night. We will be back, but never to order the chicken or short ribs again.
Perfect except they forgot about the birthday request.
We had 3 servers hovering over us. OTT. Our water was filled after every two sips, which meant we weren’t left alone to enjoy the meal for more than a few minutes. Plates were cleared before food was eaten and without asking if we were done. One of us had our food cleared and a to-go box provided while the others were still finishing their meals. It was extremely rude extremely rushed and extremely annoying. Plus the gnocchi was subpar. Appreciated and enjoyed the Complementary cornbread although that was one of the dishes where the plate was taken away while we were still eating.
Amazing food and cocktails. Creative menu items and nice ambiance.
The service was friendly and timely. All the servers were very knowledgeable on drinks and food. Accommodated our order and recommended great choices
They charged me the wrong amount and the chicken was undercooked.
Best Burger ever; nice friendly service & quiet enough to carry on a conversation
Love the Lobster Roll. Great Team Work among all Service Staff.
Came here on a Thursday night around 9 pm and it was very quiet. The servers were super nice and the food was really good. The portion sizes were huge which was nice for the price. Overall I really liked this restaurant!
Great service as usual.
Fall season menu. Chicken gumbo soup was fabulous.
This place was a stand-out dinner for me and my husband when we were in Hawaii. When making our reservation, we mentioned that we were celebrating our honeymoon, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel special (I think three different staff members congratulated us!). We also got lucky and happened to be dining in November, when they were running a special promo of free cornbread for Thanksgiving. That was probably the best cornbread I've ever had--it was savory and sweet at the same time, and it was indulgent enough to feel like a dessert. For dinner, we ordered the tavern burger and the prime rib. Both were delicious--but I'm partial to the burger (my order), which I would honestly rank in my top 3 burgers of all time. Dramatic, I know. But it was faultless! It was cooked perfectly medium well, which was my request, and the bun and the caramelized onions were just...amazing. For drinks, we ordered "Frankly My Dear" and "We Pillage, We Plunder"; the former was lightly sweet and easy to drink, and the latter was coffee-flavored and spirit-forward (which is a good thing in my book :)). I would love to eat here again!
This has become a weekly stop for us. It’s one of my favorites and never disappoints. Absolutely love crap cakes and pastas!
Consistently good is the secret
We have been coming here for sometime, we bite enjoy the service, drinks and the fantastic burger! Unfortunately, we both got sick from the food last night. They offered us a complimentary cornbread. Not sure what it was cooked with but it was saturated with some sort of oil. We both woke up in the middle of the night with stomach issues! We were both worn out from the experience, ruined our weekend! Sad, since we’ve always enjoyed our night out at Livestock Tavern.
We had sandwiches and burgers. All were very tasty. Service was excellent.
Amazing service, fresh ingredients, a great anniversary dinner.
Wow the food was amazing. We will be back again and again. Every meal in our party was different and perfect. From the apps to the main meal to the drinks.
This place has some amazing food and a great menu. Apparently the menu offerings change according to the season’s and I would love to see how it does. Great selection of wines available as well. Good atmosphere for dinner and our server was amazing, struck just the right balance of checking in and letting us be. Also, she was super knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list and her wine recommendation for us was awesome. Food came out pretty quickly as well. Overall, we had a great time at Livestock and will be back again if we are in Honolulu again.
Our male server was friendly but unorganized, forgetting to replace utensils removed between courses, not mentioning additional upcharge to "smoke" a house specialty whiskey cocktail, and not offering dessert and just presenting our checks. Our female busperson/server(?) was very professional and attentive in filling our water glasses and using a napkin to not splash water while pouring near you.
Our party did enjoy our selections- clam chowders, smoked octopus salad, bone marrow and escargot, pumpkin gnocchi. and the prime rib!
This has become one of my favorite restaurants. Everything is phenomenal, I especially love the crab cakes and pastas! Also, the best burger we’ve ever had too.
Very attentive with the water filling. At our table of 5, 3 of us orders the braised beef which was very good. Mine, however, was missing one of the main accompaniments: caramelized carrots. When I pointed it out to the waitress she says “I’m sorry...but do you like it”. Not the response I was looking for.
Ono unique dishes, excellent service, good ambience. Would have give 5 stars for ambience but wooden chairs were hard on the butt.
The Bartender, and the Host and the food were all very good. Our server had a bit of a bee in his bonnet so to speak, and was very irritated that we didn't know what we wanted in the first 5 minutes after sitting down, and acted like he was in a BIG hurry, and our reservation was at 5:30. He was having a definite bad day.
Great place to add to our regulars
Livestock Tavern has a wonderful seasonal menu allowing for new options as well as classics such as the fillet mignon and the prime rib, which keep me coming back for more. Their handcrafted cocktails also rotate and I have never been disappointed.by the servers recommendation after they ask what my preferences are. I highly recommend everyone to try this place at least once, you won't regret it.
It’s been a while since we’ve eaten good food. And been three years since we’ve been to livestock T. It was exciting trying everything they’ve created, very well thought out flavors, u can tell there’s creativity and love put into everything, best prime rib, and best corn bread, can’t wait to go back
Consistently good food and service - while it's better to have a reservation, there are often a couple of open spots for couples. Beautiful space and spacious tables, so you don't feel crowded.
The burger is fantastic, as are the short ribs. Mushroom ravioli is great, too. We have yet to order something we haven't liked or loved.
The food was excellent and the service was great. It was a it noisy at times but overall a great place
The food and service was fabulous! We celebrated a co-worker’s birthday and the selection, service and quality of food were top-notch! Would definitely come back!
Vacationing from California and happen to be in the Chinatown area watching comedy. Saw the Livestock Tavern from across the street and loved just the way it looked. Once I saw the menu I had to go. It did not disappoint!! Loved the character of the building, the decor and the coziness. The food was excellent!! It was definitely a Fall menu and felt farm to table. Delicious! I had the barn wrapped pork with pumpkin purée. Yumm!!
I usually like the food from Livestock Tavern. I have been there about six times this year and I was excited when I saw the updated seasonal menu. The brisket sandwich sounded good since I love brisket. However, I was a little disappointed in the sandwich and French fries. The Texas toast was soggy with all of the sauce they put and the meat was very fatty. I understand that brisket is fatty in the middle, but all of the fat on the sides was left on and that made it difficult to eat like a sandwich. I had to cut it with a knife and eat it with a fork. Also, the French fries were soggy and not crispy at all.
I will be back because this is the first time I have not enjoyed the food.
The restaurant itself was great. We enjoyed it very much. I will say, it is not in a great part of town. I saw more addicts, homeless, and insane people in 2 blocks than I have seen in the entirety of my time in Honolulu. We have lived here for over a year now. Great restaurant, but bad location.
Love this place for getting together with friends and pau hana. They have great food and we love to share everything pupu style so that we are able to eat a little bit of everything. No too bad finding parking since there is street and parking garage.
Fabulous autumn menu. Great service. Great ambiance. Farm to table fresh. Best porkchops ever!
