Karen was a sweetheart and accommodated every need. Fantastic experience with both service and food. The Junto does it right every time.

I always enjoy eating at LWT, and have done so many times. The food is great, if a bit on the expensive end (though, given the high quality, not unusual or out of line). I might suggest offering better “pairing” options for folks who are dining there as “one-tops” (single diners). About half (actually more) of the 7-8 times I stay at the Junto each year are in connection with events for which I am often traveling by myself, and dining by myself as well. At this most recent dining experience, I tried out the new Roasted Prime Rib on the LWT menu, which was both excellent and plentiful. It comes with a “gruyere cheese popover,” perhaps best described as an airy, flaky, but sturdy, small pastry muffin — the purpose of which is to allow one to “sop up” the “au jus” renderings and beef bullion ladled sauce of the prime rib. It’s worth sopping up. As the cheese popover is not really an “accompanying vegetable,” one is also recommended to get a separate side vegetable. The most likely choices are brussels sprouts or cauliflower, with perhaps steak fries as an option (I did not consider grits or mac-and-cheese as “recommended” pairings). As an initial matter, all of these sides are an additional $14 to the $56 Prime Rib. A bit of a big add. The “second matter” is that these sides are really more in the category of “shared table vegetables.” I ordered the cauliflower, and there were probably 20 (or more) “florets” on an 8” plate — WAY MORE than what would be included as an “accompaniment vegetable” with an order (they were also a bit “icky sweet” heavily sauced — simply steamed would have been much preferred). It would be a more “friendly” option to a single diner to just get 4-5 steamed brussels sprouts (no heavy sweet saucing) on the plate along with the $56 Prime Rib. (As a side note, the excellent Rainbow Trout comes with a “built in” — and appropriately sized — side broccoli and pecan accompaniment). But, as always, an enjoyable dining experience.

I stay at the Junto often, and usually have dinner at the Little West Tavern at least once each stay. I always enjoy it. LWT has made some changes to its menus, revising some of its “classics” and adding a few more options to choose from. One of these new options is a Rainbow Trout with a charred broccoli and pecan side accompanying vegetable. It is excellent, and I highly recommend it. LWT also has a nice ambiance “vibe.” It is a welcoming and comfortable space, with lots of nice wood, a number of brick-faced walls, and an open wood-flame grill, . . . and in nice weather, an L-shaped outdoor covered patio tracing the outside walls of the interior of the restaurant (one of which walls opens up, garage-door style, to blend the indoor with the patio when the weather favors it). It is always a nice experience dining at LWT. Yes, it is a bit on the expensive side, but it is one of those places that always offers a memorable, pleasant, and welcoming dining experience.

Wonderful Easter lunch for 6! We had the squash tower, tortilla soup, salads, and sandwiches and everything was great. Perfect service and such a great atmosphere. We had a coffee at Maudine’s after for more time together. Highly recommend.

The venue itself is beautiful and the vibe relaxing yet the our meal and service disappointing. That said, drinks at the bar and the bartender did not disappoint however, dinner however so disappointing. Our waitress was nice, but not terribly attentive. As for the food, we ordered two steaks, one fish meal and one shrimp salad. Both steaks were undercooked, one was served cold. We assume it was the first meal cooked and sat for too long - the manager replace the steak. A request for horseradish for the other steak ended up being a 15 minute search by the staff only to learn the restaurant doesn’t have horseradish (though no one told us that until we waived down the manager - by the way they do have horseradish sauce but that was not offered until we mentioned it). The vegetable served with the fish dish was cold and undercooked. A highly disappointing evening after so many good recommendations. May give it another try at lunch to see if this was just an off night for some reason. In the end, the manager comped the cold steak dinner and offered free dessert so kudos for trying to make the end of evening nice.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed the venue and the drinks at the bar, but we deeply regret that your meal and service didn’t meet expectations. We sincerely apologize for the food quality issues, as well as the miscommunication regarding the horseradish. Your feedback is valuable, and we will work with our team to address these issues. We're glad our manager was able to make things right, but we understand your disappointment. It's feedback like this that helps us grow and improve as a team and a restaurant, and rest assured those processes are already in motion. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope you'll consider giving us another try, whether at lunch or another day for dinner service. Thank you again for your feedback.

The ambiance, appetizers, and drinks were great! Truly amazing service. The only thing to fall short were the main courses, all four of us got something different and they were all lackluster and didn’t have much flavor.

I visited in March and had an excellent meal, truly great. Unfortunately they have now switched to their spring menu which is a disappointment. The main issue however is the prices are not in line with Columbus as a whole. For steak, the prices exceed the great steakhouses in town, and there simply isn’t a justification for it. The portion and the quality simply isn’t there. The drinks too, while good (except for the poor wine list), can be had for less at many other higher end, more established restaurants in town.

Thank you for visiting Little West Tavern and for taking the time to share your experience. We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed your meal in March, and we truly appreciate your candid feedback regarding our new spring menu. Our seasonal changes are designed to highlight fresh, locally sourced ingredients and offer new experiences to our guests, but we understand that expectations around value and portion size are just as important. We’ll be sharing your comments with our culinary and beverage teams as we continue to refine our offerings and ensure they align with both our standards and the Columbus dining scene. We hope you’ll consider joining us again in the future, as we’re always evolving and aiming to deliver an exceptional experience.
