My wife and I were looking forward to trying this restaurant for a while. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed with the experience. I suspect we are not the only ones, as it was a Friday night and there were quite a few empty tables. The online menu does not resemble the menu we were provided. Unfortunately, we'd planned to order several items based on what we saw online and none of them were available. Scallops? Nope. Impossible burger? Nope. Squash tacos? Nope. My wife and I have some diet restrictions so this can be a big deal. It really is unacceptable to have a menu online that is sooo out of date. I ordered a couple of the craft cocktails over the course of our meal. They were OK, but not up to par with what you find at comparable restaurants in town. For an appetizer we ordered the fried mushrooms drizzled with hot honey. They had an unusual breading, were nice and crisp and were very good. For dinner we ordered the potato tacos, the egg salad on toast, and a side of the sauteed vegetables to share. The potato tacos were terrible; maybe the worst tacos we've ever had, and that includes Taco Bell; pretty bad. The potatoes were like hash browns. They were dry and there were too many of them. The rest of the taco included mango, pickled onion and some heat. It all did not come together at all. We left them virtually untouched. (No inquiry from the waitress as to why we did not like the tacos- sign of immature service.) The sauteed veggies were tasty, but not presented well. The egg salad on toast was OK, but needed something else on to make it worthy. It was a basic egg salad with 2 slices of bread... yeah that was it. I foresee Little Saint dying a slow death unless it dramatically ups its game. Oh, I almost forgot, the AC couldn't keep up, so the temp in the restaurant was in the mid-80's. Lovely. Good luck Little Saint. With so many good restaurants in RVA, you're going to need it.

There for brunch last Sunday. Not very busy when we arrived. It took 45 minutes to get food after order. Waitress was very unfriendly I ordered 2 poached eggs medium. Asked as I usually do not to have runny whites Arrived very hard boiled.

Setting was casual with uncomfortable bench seating. The food was ok, definitely not great especially for the high price tag. Cocktail was good. Service was fine. Would go again maybe for brunch, but not dinner.

At my last visit I rated this place 5 all the way with a great review. This visit started off disappointing and got a little better as we went. I think for some reason there was only one waiter for the whole place, and he seemed to be the host also. Clearly he was not happy about the situation. Thus the service lacked enthusiasm was less than what was reasonable. The service wasn't horrible but not really helpful and was somewhat slow. He even brought us our check and never asked about desert so he had to redo it all when we decided on desert. He never asked about drinks or coffee after the first request so we had to take the initiative on that to. I get the fact that some younger folks don't get the importance of the server's job, but with the quality of the food here and these prices, expecting better service is a must.

We enjoyed sitting outside and received right away. This was a nice surprise on a Friday night. We really enjoyed the drinks and the apps. The service was also fast and friendly. There are four of us in our party and we all ordered dinner. However none of us really cared much for our dinner choice. We thought the dinners were a bit pricey for the quality/taste we received. We ended up getting a second round of drinks, apps and dessert somewhere else.

The food was amazing. Since I’ve been vegan, full-flavored dishes have been elusive in restaurants that offer vegan “options”. Not here. The few dishes that were vegan in their standard form were clearly labeled, but a few questions to a knowledgeable server named Rachel opened up a myriad of additional choices with simple modifications. I had the Byrd’s Mill Grits Bowl with chorizo tofu and mushrooms as protein (minus the fried egg). The crispy kale topping the bowl was amazing. I was told that it was flash fried instead of baked resulting in the crispness standing up to the grits, toppings and sauce. My cousin who’s neither vegan or vegetarian enjoyed the vegetable burger (Beyond Meet standing in for the Impossible Burger during their shortage). When they upgrade the ambiance inside to match the food, this place would be worthy of 5 stars.

The food wasn’t good. Everything had too much salt. I had the fried soft shell crab with grits. The grits were dry. My soft shell crab arrived cold, salty, and stiff. It was disgusting. We got fried pickles for an appetizer. They were cheap pickles and cut into spears instead of slices. I’ve never had such bad fried pickles. Our server was slow. We had to flag her down to order appetizers, entrees, wine, and the check. One of our bottles of white wine was warm. It was a disappointing experience.

My husband and I went for restaurant week which we have learned is a double edged sword. Great value often results in degradation of service. Everything was just sooooo slow. It took 20 mins just to get waters. Food was alright. I’d go back and give it another shot. Maybe it was just a fluke.

We made reservations for night two of Restaurant Week. Arrived 5-10 minutes before our reservation and were asked twice by two servers if we had a reservation or not. Both times we assured them we did but not once did they ask our names. We were told that nothing was available outside but to find a seat inside. Upon sitting down, a very rude server dropped menus off at our tables, informed us that they were out of the short rib and walked away, with nothing even close to an apology. Having started off like that, we decided to find a reservation elsewhere! We will not be returning to Little Saint until they change their attitude.

Little Saint is a Museum District Gem. Went for restaurant week, so my experience (for now) is limited. But the pimento cheese app is slamming the door fabulous, made on site as are many of the choices you have to choose from at Lil' St. But let's back up and talk cocktails, the list is exhaustive and yes something for everyone, fresh squeezed ingredients and even drinks by ERA! The Manhattan and the Gimlets were so yummy. I had the bone in grilled chop with grits and asparagus..cooked so perfectly and delish! Friend had the soft shell crab entree...and we will be back soon. Got to love RVA food vibe. As a transplant from Chicago and other food cities, so proud when folks come to RVA, as I'd put our food up against the finest city offering out there.

I’ve had many dinners here that were wonderful! Unfortunately brunch was not, 1 out of 7 meals was as ordered, missing protein from both omelets, orders of Eggs Benedict’s all had eggs over cooked. Our waitress was a sweetie though and most apologetic as was the manager. We’ll be back for dinner but pass on brunch.😢
