Little Rhein Steak House
Opened on San Antonio's Riverwalk in 1967 in the historic Otto Bombach House, Little Rhein has long been a favorite restaurant for movie stars, professional athletes, political leaders, and other celebrities. Of course, local residents and visitors enjoy it as well, and Little Rhein is a top location for destination event planners.
Little Rhein and its sister restaurant, The Fig Tree, located right next door, set the standard for fine dining on the Riverwalk. Stop on by and enjoy a delicious meal in a historic setting.
Everything was great. Except it took way longer than reasonable time to get our dinner plates.
Wonderful food, great service. Loved the salmon and for dessert the berry cobbler!!!
Charming restaurant with great food and staff. We all had filets and they were perfectly cooked and delicious. My favorite restaurant on the riverwalk.
Table for two with good view of the river walk and live music and dance performance at the Arneson River Theatre!
Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Our preference was medium plus. They were delicious. We were returning to the restaurant 46 years after our San Antonio honeymoon. It was still lovely and quiet.
Our dinner turned out excellent. Very nice setting under the trees along the river walk. The food was delicious. The staff and the service was great.
The steaks were perfectly prepared. They were tender and delicious. I loved the brussel sprouts. The service was amazing. Our server was always available, but never in our way. We plan on returning to this restaurant.
Excellent service, historic decor and wonderful food!
Good. But very expensive. Not sure I would pay that again
They are not flexible on substitutions for sides-not everyone wants potatoes.
Birthday dinner with my mother that was visiting from out of country. Food was okay and felt like it was a sit, order, eat and get out experience. The prior reviews were misleading on the experience and quality of the meal.
I loved this restaurant! I will say I thought this place was going to be a little more fancy, but it was still a great time for our anniversary. The food was amazing, and the dessert was so good! Creme brûlée is to die for! It was a tad loud, so I suggest sitting on the patio in cooler weather months if you get a chance. Overall it was good.
We have eaten at little Rhine 15 to 20 times over the last 15 years. It has always been great. This time the food was good, except 3 of the 4 steaks came out over cooked. They took them back and cooked them properly. They did not offer to discount our dinner, because we had to wait for our steaks, and my wife was finished eating by the time our steaks came out. I was a little disappointed. They had discounted our dinner in years past when we had a problem. Will probably go to Bohannons in the future.
We’ve been going to Little Rhein for a couple of years now and are never disappointed! My husband and I both had the Summer Special- a 4oz filet and lobster tail. Delicious and perfectly cooked to our liking (medium and medium rare). The staff was pleasant, as always, and kept our glasses full! Will be back!
Dinner cele for my newly appointed Airmen. Great food, great service and cool place. Recommend for those in town on a visit and looking for a steakhouse
Love this historic restaurant with impressive service and food! Must do every time I’m in San Antonio!
Great service and yummy food!
Top quality food, service and location. I highly suggest Little Rhein for any special occasion
For the price I was disappointed that I ordered my steak medium and received medium-well, especially after our waitress said they usually under cook which would have been welcome by me. The server offered to have them remake it but I am not going to waste a good cut like that. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing though.
Food was meh especially for being pricey. The atmosphere is nice especially outside with a view of the live performance at the Arneson Thestre on the river.
Best steak and lobster I have had in a while.
Will be back soon
We have been to this steakhouse many times. This last time was a very bad experience. The Mac and cheese looked like it came straight from a box and the presentation of all the other food was underwhelming. It didn’t even look appetizing. Not worth the price.
Excellent food!! Excellent service!! Definitely recommend this restaurant over all other restaurants in San Antonio. We ate out every meal & most were very good but Little Rhein was by far the best!!!
I’ve been here many times and have had a great experience, but this time the experience was subpar. Chicken was dry, service was not very good-a bit disappointed because I talked up this restaurant to my girlfriend who had never been.
Filet mignon had no flavor. No lobster in the lobster bisque. Don't eat outside - flies are horrific. Brussel sprouts were delicious.
The filet was perfect medium-rare. Excellent service from Gracie.
We came to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. The food was excellent. We had a great waiter and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. If we are ever back in San Antonio, we will be heading their way again.
I had not been here in many, many years. Very glad I returned. We started with bacon wrapped quail legs. They were great and not over cooked. My filet was cooked perfectly. The crab cake was delicious. Everything was really enjoyable.
The only thing that I could have a complaint about was $12 for 6 asparagus spears.
I will definitely come here again. And soon.
We have been coming to little Rhein for years and to say it has gone downhill is an understatement. The bisque tasted off, like old seafood. The steak we ordered was supposed to be filet mignon & it totally looked like a ribeye. The only great thing about the evening was the wine, location & our server was awesome! The chef needs to step it up.
Our meal was terrific. Both steaks were perfectly cooked and all the salads and sides were delicious. Service was slow - I asked for water refill that never came. Dishes sat for too long at our table attracting flies. Food was wonderful but there are a few tweaks in service and experience in order to justify the steep price tag.
Excellent food, setting, and service. I had a memorable meal here about 20 years ago, and this more recent dinner was just as good. Not inexpensive, but worth it for a special meal out.
We went for our daughter’s graduation from the USAF and were seated immediately for our reservation and taken care of so well! Our servers Ray, Phillip and Israel were wonderful and attentive! They kept our water and ice teas full! The food was fantastic and we all enjoyed our meals! They even gave Aimee a free dessert choice since she was in her military uniform! Thank you so much for a wonderful special dinner with our daughter and family! We will definitely return in the future if we are in town!
We were in town for a conference and ended up going to the Little Rhein twice. We ate outside one night- which was fantastic - and inside the second (because of rain). Both nights, the service and food were amazing! The spot on the riverwalk is nice and quiet, but beautiful! It was so good, we came back with more of our group the second night.
Very good steaks, but a little pricey. Nice ambiance.
We live 300 miles away, and first came here on our honeymoon 20 years ago. Every time we get a chance to come back to San Antonio just the two of us, we eat here. The food and service are outstanding.
Visiting from NY, service, food & ambiance were fantastic!
Price for what you get is poor. The quality was ok nothing to brag about.
We had an amazing dining experience at Little Rhein Steak House. From the moment we were sat at our table overlooking the Riverwalk until we received our check it was a wonderful evening. The ambiance and setting can’t be beat.
Our food was delicious and our waitress Yesenia couldn’t have been nicer or more attentive to our needs.
Can’t recommend this restaurant enough.
Excellent as usual! Steaks were prepared perfectly, escargot was awesome paired with sequia grove cabernet.
