We were a table of 6 and there was a 30 minute lag between when the first dish came out and when the last came out. The servers were very inattentive - water wasn’t refilled, couldn’t get salt to the table. Will not be back- not worth it.
Great vibe, pretty space. Menu is interesting, without being too "out there"-- good innovative twists on dishes. Would love to go back!
Very yummy and cozy. Service is attentive and atmosphere is low key mediterranean. Menu options provide a lot of variety, and execution is very consistent. Interesting wine list. Wish it were in my neighborhood, would be a regular go to.
We sat at the bar and had the best dishes: Salmon Rillette was delicious and different, the Mezze plate with grilled pita that was so soft and smokey - cauliflower dip to die for and the Octopus. The bartender was fantastic, recommended a bottle or red that was perfect. Will be coming back!!
This was our first time coming for dinner and our second time visiting the restaurant in total. We first came for brunch, which we found delicious. Dinner however, was a completely different experience entirely.
In short, the quality of ingredients for the dishes we ordered was unsatisfactory. First we ordered the OCTOPUS AND CHORIZO TOSTADA WITH BLACK GARLIC. It was one of the better dishes, yet the octopus had a slightly fishy taste. Second, we ordered BEER BATTERED SPRING ONIONS WITH ANDY’S RANCH; these were not great, the batter had spread into the layers of the onions and wasn't cooked fully; third we ordered SCALLOPS CRUDO WITH YUZU, which we sent back. The dish was very inconsistent in that the scallops were all different size cuts, and was definitely not "crudo" style in the least, also it was definitely not fresh tasting. Then we ordered MEZZE PLATE WITH WOOD OVEN ROASTED VEGGIES, MERGUEZ SAUSAGE, ROASTED CAULIFLOWER DIP AND FLATBREAD SMALL and OVEN ROASTED DELICATA SQUASH WITH SMOKED HAZELNUT, TORPEDO ONION AND SORGHUM; the delicata was the best dish, the roasted veggies and merguez sausage was OK; honestly the veggies on the dish were the remnants of the veggies, ie, the stock and leaves from the broccoli and cauliflower and some of the delicata squash was really blackened burned. We did not feel great the rest of the evening. Perhaps the kitchen was short staffed or off last night. We have friends that come here often and really enjoy it, and we really enjoyed brunch. We can only hope this was a one time experience.
Highly recommend and WILL be back. Food is exceptional!
Food wasn’t good. Kitchen was very disorganized and staff seems lost.
This is a wonderful place to go and enjoy some tasty creative food. It was our first time here and we will definitely be going back. We love the different df and gf options too. The chef has real talent.
Went for a group brunch, made a reservation so didn't have to wait. The food was pretty good but I wouldn't say anything special. The drinks were nice.
The dishes came out extremely slow and seemingly randomly. We shared a communal table with a group that came after us and they got their food first though they ordered much later. One dish never even came until we asked our waitress twice. It was a simple fruit bowl which didn't even need to be cooked. It finally came after everyone else ate, and of course they comped it. But then they automatically charged us 20% gratuity. Normally I don't mind it for a large group, and I normally tip as such, but with such bad service it didn't seem fair this time. Someone didn't even get to eat with the group...
I would agree with the other reviews that say skip this and save some money to get better food and service elsewhere.
Good food but service was not great. We were seven and each one of us got our food 2-5 minutes after the other one. Really weird. The place is nice but extremely noisy.
Great, inventive food and cool ambiance. Smaller restaurant that makes it feel more personal. Nice servers.
It was delish! The waitress was great and the ambiance was really nice.
Little wait but they were amazing. They offer a round of drinks and the food is superb
Not as good as we’d hooed
Loved the Happy Hour! Will definitely be back. Great wine selection and apps.
The food was very disappointing for a restaurant that made LA's hottest new restaurants on Thrillist. Brussell sprouts were saturated in oil and over salted. Happy hour mezze plate was almost inedible including the flatbread, oversalted too (how do you mess up flatbread)?! Everything about this place felt like it was trying too hard. Much like parts of Santa Monica itself, it was very pretty but lacked serious depth. I gave it a second star solely because the service was great and the restaurant is beautiful. The food was so bad that was all it deserved though.
Amazing food. Amazing staff. The octopus was ... Chef's kiss. So good. Will be back!
Food took hours, staff was rude. They bring food out as it is ready, but if it never shows, you leave hungry.
The food was delicious. The service was slow and they brought each dish out as it came out of the kitchen. The egg dishes are not great for sharing so my friends and I all ate our entrées at different times.
This place should be ashamed to take patrons money with how poorly it was run for brunch. Shame on management for allowing such terrible service and no food coming out the kitchen and never addressing it with customers. Instead the wait staff was so embarrassed that they would’ve rather ignored the few tables that were seated. I was served my meal and my boyfriend sat there waiting for his food to the point we asked them to cancel and left since I had finished. The server didn’t even seem surprised when we said it, nor did she apologize. The table next to us waited at least 20 minutes on a grain bowl with a pickled egg while his friend finished his lox meal. Seriously?! Take your money elsewhere!
The person who greets you at the door is key - they should be very careful who they designate as host!
He/she must be welcoming! The menu could be clearer between "starters" and "mains" so you don't have to guess simply by pricing. While the flavors are good, the presentation could be much better (delicata squash rounds appeared paltry). On the menu it would be helpful to explain that dishes will not necessarily come out together or as soon as you'd expect (don't wait for the server to have to say that!). Overall, I don't think they quite understand the customer's point of view.
We were really hoping Little Prince would be a great experience. It’s a cute space and well designed, however the food was not great. The Lamb we had was very crispy/chewy and the vegetables were burned. Overall, not worth the cost or the crowded seating experience.
first time there, went with a friend who had been before. the food was excellent. we had a pasta with a meat sauce which was great and a lamb shoulder that was also great. the fritters were a bit dry and spicy hot. would not get them but everything else were winner. service was very good, the seating person was a bit odd. the place was empty but would not accommodate a request for a different table. would go back
The food came out cold and it took a very long time between the first and second course. We complained to the manager and she knew there was a problem. So she gave us a 50% discount. We will not come back
Great food, and great atmosphere. Easy to share the plates and chat.
My new favorite restaurant in Santa Monica! Food was exceptional along with the service and ambience, very cool!
It was my friend’s birthday. Everything was great but it was so noisy that my friends don’t want to go back. The noise level was way too high.
Get the shakshouka (bakes eggs) and sticky bun. Sticky bun feeds 3-4 people, FYI. Skip the pea mash pancake. It’s under whelming.
I choose the restaurants after reading blogs about hip and not expensive places in Santa Monica. The decor is really cute, place is nice and has a good vibe. Very loud, almost impossible to talk to people across the table.
The menu is very limited with two dishes containing lamb (the none of us 5 eats) and very little fish except a very buttery salmon tartare and an octopus entree.
The appetizer vegetables are so far the best bet. The brussel sprouts and the squash were very good.
Steak tartare was good but the tofu does not mix well and you have to order the bread crostini on the side.
wine is list is good with some well priced items.
Wonderful service that started with a glass of champagne for our anniversary. Tasty, innovative food and an overall excellent experience. The pumpkin toast was out of this world!
We are so happy we could make your special night amazing! Thank you for your kind review. We hope to see you back soon!
Overall everything we tried was very flavorful and something new and exciting. We had the pumpkin toast, fried brussel sprouts, steak, and the sweet potato dish which was fantastic paired with the coconut yogurt.
So happy you loved it, thank you for your review!
Little Prince is a nice local restaurant on Main Street in Santa Monica. The space is small and somewhat tight but the place makes up for it with good service and good food at a reasonable price especially for Santa Monica standards. I went for Brunch and enjoyed my meal.
Thank you for your kind review! We're glad you enjoyed your experience.
Very bad. Almost all the cocktails were “out”, halal several key brunch menu items were out, food not impressive, especially for the price. No thanks
We're so sorry you didn't enjoy your experience with us! We'd love the opportunity to make it right and learn from your feedback. Please reach out to me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
I am so picky, and I've got food restrictions - but I was able to eat here and it was so delicious and memorable. Surprising dishes. I love their creativity and that their meats are ethically raised, too.
We love this! Thanks for taking the time to write this kind review. Hope to see you back again soon.
2 hours to eat 5 courses...painfully slow and inattentive staff. Don’t do it
Happy hour is a good
Stellar time, thanks for a great brunch! It's such a gem of a place.
Awesome, thank you!
Great local place with very interesting Happy Hour specials - Keep up the good work
I have been to Little Prince before and had a much better experience. This time I was there for happy hour and all the food kind of tasted the same and was too salty. Also, everything was overpriced too.
The happy hour menu was great! Probably one of the best I've seen it a long time.
