Seafood
Perfect For:
  • Fit for Foodies
  • Good for a Date
  • Neighborhood Gem
Little Fish was founded in the mid-'90s to the delight of Queen Village foodies and pretty much all Philadelphians who give a hoot about great seafood. Chef Chadd Jenkins purchased the long-established BYOB in September 2011 which he had been overseeing as the Chef de Cuisine since 2008. Convention says that when you purchase a successful business you maintain it. Little Fish continues to offer flavors and daring combinations to the recognition of Bon Appétit magazine — 3rd Best New Seafood Restaurant in the USA — and the delight of The New York Times. Little Fish recently swam up stream and reopened in a new location, a stone's throw from its original location where Little Fish continues to earn accolades from national and local press. Most importantly, Little Fish continues to feed old friends and serve new fans every day.

Little Fish has the best seafood. Everydish is a parade of flavors- starts out with one flavor...then moving on to the next...and then another. I love coming and just getting 2 of everything and sharing every dish. Everydish....including the
Bread... follows this pattern. It is like no place else. Even if you don't like fish, it's amazing!

We went here for our anniversary, it was a Sunday, so we could get their five course tasting menu. The food was absolutely amazing. The fish was very fresh and was the highlight of four of the courses. It's a BYOB, so don't forget to bring your own Champagne for celebrations(don't worry they have Champagne flutes).

We attended the Chef’s Tasting 5 course seating on Sunday evening. The courses were beautifully presented and tasted delicious.
The wait staff was attentive and described each course as it was served to each of the tables.
The courses were well paced between one another.
It was a great way to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. We would definitely return.

Outstanding seafood. Delicious fish dishes. Sea bass with seafood melody was excellent. Bread could be improved. Scallops were perfectly seared and seasoned.

There is a clear reason why this restaurant is rated so well. It is simply amazing. The small venue BYOB option allows for flexibility and for the restaurant to invest in quality supplies and nuanced taste profiles. Can't wait to go back.

This was my third time at Little Fish and 1st time for my friend. I absolutely love seafood and this place NEVER disappoints. The combination of flavors were amazing, never mundane, and just keeps getting more interesting. Small, intimate space and great for dates or small group of friends. BYOB.

The food here is flawless. One of the city's best restaurants and one of the few left that the chef still touches plates.

Thoroughly enjoyed our Easter dinner! Everything was fresh, beautiful for the eyes, interesting combinations, and all delicious. Love being able to see the chefs at work, and the two that were working together were obviously a good pair. I think you can feel that energy in such a small place. Our serves were friendly and relaxed which made it fun. Love when all four of us are eating the same plates because it makes for such a connected experience. My husband and I, and our 22 and 16 yr old sons ate together. ALL of us loved it! We chatted about all of the dishes all the way home as well! Thank you

Cute little place. Attentive service. Food was excellent but overpriced. Portions quite small. Fish served with minimal sides. I was especially taken aback by charge of $11 for a tiny scoop of pot de crepe.

Excellent food. Great service. But once again the noise level is awful here. Definitely not a romantic intimate experience one might be looking for. It seems like the BYOB makes people gona bit off the charts with the voice level.

We have dined at Little Fish since it's beginning at 6th & Catherine in the building that was falling down. It is always great food, but this latest visit may have been the best one yet. Our dinner and appetizer selections were universally FABULOUS, and our server was pleasant and seemed to have an uncanny knack of showing up exactly when we needed her. We will be back soon!

Great food and service. We tried many dishes and all were very good to excellent. Since the menu changes constantly, it probably isn't helpful to call out particular dishes but I will mention the absolutely delicious butterscotch pudding for dessert which was a great way to close out an excellent meal. Servers were efficient and friendly. Only drawback is that parking in the neighborhood is challenging so next time I would grab a Lyft or Uber.

I have always had great experiences at Little Fish. The food is always great and the atmosphere is inviting. Sunday nights are a great time to go, if you are looking for a bit of excitement. The 5-course prix fixe menu showcases seafood in a new and fun way. The menu changes frequently to ensure that the dining experience is full of fresh, delicious ingredients.

We love little fish and go for special occasions. It’s always outstanding but we were slightly disappointed for this Valentine’s Day dinner. They were doing a pre-fixe menu that we didn’t know about, three courses for $65/head. The choices were very limited (only two options per course where they usually have 4-5 options). The food was still delicious but I prefer their normal menu!

This was our second time to Little Fish and the staff was even friendlier than before and the lighting was much better. It's still a little cramped (maybe one less 2-person seating would help), but still the best seafood place ever.

This is our favorite small neighborhood restaurant. The quality of the seafood is tops, and is imaginatively and artfully prepared. The service is outstanding and friendly. And it is a BYO. If you take wine, be sure that it is equal to the quality of the meal.

This is my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. It has the best fish, the best sauces and the most interesting small bites and appetizers. The quality of the fish and ingredients are top notch and the preparations are meticulous and delicious. The sauces are delicate to let the fish be the star, but are delicious in their own rite. I always save some bread to mop up the dishes. I dine out a lot (basically every night) and I try to eat here at least once per week. The dishes are constantly refreshed and I have had meals entirely composed of small bites and appetizers with other dinners of only entrees only. All have been terrific and memorable.
