About Little Fish
Little Fish was founded in the mid-'90s to the delight of Queen Village foodies and pretty much all Philadelphians who give a hoot about great seafood. Chef Chadd Jenkins purchased the long-established BYOB in September 2011 which he had been overseeing as the Chef de Cuisine since 2008. Convention says that when you purchase a successful business you maintain it. Little Fish continues to offer flavors and daring combinations to the recognition of Bon Appétit magazine — 3rd Best New Seafood Restaurant in the USA — and the delight of The New York Times. Little Fish recently swam up stream and reopened in a new location, a stone's throw from its original location where Little Fish continues to earn accolades from national and local press. Most importantly, Little Fish continues to feed old friends and serve new fans every day.

Little Fish Ratings and Reviews
Food was excellent! My husband and I ordered the rock shrimp and the mackerel for 1st entry. Rock shrimp was great however, we were surprised that the mackerel were not cooked and the servers never mentioned it when they described the menu. However for what it is, the mackerel was fresh just not our style. Main entry was excellent!!!
The place was very crowded and loud. The table next to us was extremely loud and was hurting my eardrums. Without that loudness, I think the place would have been perfect for our date.
Besides those negative aspects, the food overall was delicious. Definitely coming back.
I was taking to the restaurant for my birthday. I ordered the black cod, which was served over rice with the delicious Boullibaise sauce, clams, mussels and a Crustini. We listen to the description of the food preparation twice, and neither of us heard/understood that the shellfish meat would be taken out of the shells and served cold on top of the bread. So the fish part of the main entrée was delicious but the shellfish were a total waste. The place is very cute but only has eight or nine tables and we were stuck next to a group of four who were ready for dessert when we sat down. They were extremely loud and dropping F bombs constantly. We had two courses while they spent an hour finishing their wine.
My husband’s red snapper was oustanding. I loved my hamachi appetizer but was a bit underwhelmed my the scallops. They were perfectly cooked but the sauce seemed a bit dull. The dessert of baked apples with ice cream was excellent. Friendly service and expertly prepared food made for a perfect dining experience.
I live thousands of miles away and hadn't been to Little Fish in five years. It's a little less basic and a little less edgy. I don't know if that affected out entrees but both my husband and I love our oysters and our first plates and thought our main courses were either bland and uninviting or too much food without being exciting. We still plan to go to Little Fish again, but next time order more oysters and more first courses without getting mains.
We loved every bite of our meal at Little Fish. We arrived early in the evening, so there were vacant seats when we first walked in, but the room never felt crowded even after every seat was filled later in our meal. Move this place to the top of your list!
Was given a gift certificate two years ago as a Christmas present. Since I am not in the city on a regular basis I had an extremely hard time getting a reservation. Finally was able to and the owner would not honor it. The restaurant changed hands last year. I was extremely disappointed on how it was handled. Will not be back.
We went for the Sunday prix fixe menu. We got there 15-min late, but they were very accommodating. All the seafood dishes were delicious. The major letdown was with the dessert - a lemon sponge cake that was dry, and coffee (for $3.50 extra!!) that was weak and watery. It's like they put all their effort into the entrees and just gave up on the dessert.
One of the best meals my husband and I have had in a very long time. This restaurant was magical; the food, the service and the ambiance far exceeded out expectations. Thank you to everyone at Little Fish for a wonderful experience. We will highly recommend this restaurant to all.
Little Fish was delicious. We did the Sunday pre fixe menu. There are about 10 tables and you are served 5-6 courses. Every course was delicious! The chefs did such a great job with textures and flavors! They even made foods I usually don’t like, like kale and mashed potato taste delicious! All of the staff was awesome! It is a very small, intimate place. Don’t expect the restaurant to look extravagant, but the food is the main attraction.
I have been meaning to try Little Fish for some time, and after dining there, am kick I myself for not going sooner. Everything was amazing! The ambiance, the service and most importantly, the food. We started with the lobster bites, which provided a wonderfully delicious start to our meal. We then followed up with the tuna (raw preparation) and octopus (prepared like nashville hot chicken), which were different, but equally delightful. We then had the salmon and black cod, which were prepared in a way to showcase their freshness and taste. Although we weren’t jazzed about the dessert offering, we just know to concentrate our future Little Fish meals on what they do best - seafood. We look forward to returning, again and again and again ...
When we arrived, we realized that we had been there before. We remembered the prior visit as very ordinary. This time, we were very impressed. While the menu is very small, and tends toward spicy foods, the choices we made were outstanding. We shared the scallops appetizer, which was a dish of melt in your mouth scallops with roasted beets and a beet sauce. It was delicious. For out entrees, we each chose the pan roasted halibut, which was also delicious. It was served over fingerling potatoes and greens. The dessert, only one option, was a rosemary and olive cake with almonds and a lemon sorbet. The perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Our servers were very attentive without being intrusive. We are planning to return in the future.
I have never had a bad dish at this resturant. They had me liking spicy dishes that I would NEVER taste. I would recommend sampling everything everyone orders - ITS JUST THAT GOOD!
The complexity of tastes was simply a parade of flavor going across your tongue with everything you ate. Amazing!
