It's not often that one can give a 5 star review, but Little Fish certainly merits it. Everything was no less than perfect: we were greeted appropriately, ushered to our table, served water and opened our wine right away; our white wine was kept chilled, and glasses refilled as soon as needed. The descriptions of the preparation of the food was clear and the preparations were unusual (to us) but all sounded delicious. We split an appetizer, and each enjoyed our perfect entrees, which were gorgeous to look at and delicious to taste. We hadn't been here for many years--but we will be sure to return soon (or as soon as we can snag a reservation!)--and often.
Food was delicious. Every dish was great Intimate space but not over crowded. Will be back
Well executed tasty fish dishes. Understated interiors let the food really stand out. I could eat these fish dishes regularly. There was one perfect dessert option and it was fantastic!
Little portions and high prices. Fish wash cooked to perfection but the preparations seemed uninspired
The food and service is fantastic. Highly recommended.
We had a fabulous time thanks to the delicious food and fantastic service. Thank you for going above and beyond to make our night special!
Fabulous fish presented beautifully. Can’t wait to return
Food was delicious, thought definitely overpriced. I knew the prices before going in and definitely don’t mind paying for an excellent meal, but for what it was it should be a bit less expensive. The restaurant was also very hot and we were sweating a bit even though we were right next to the air conditioner. It is an open kitchen so I expected it to be a bit warm but the AC should be turned up. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience.
We were disappointed with both the food and service and probably will not return. Half of the dishes were great, other half was not (dry dumpling, burnt octopus). One of the wait staff was friendly and courteous; the other, not very pleasant never asked once how we were doing. We used to love this place, not anymore.
This was our first visit to Little Fish, a tiny BYOB, in Queen Village. The menu changes daily; the fish is very fresh and beautifully prepared. The menu is limited and includes small plates, appetizers, and entrees, but no deserts, a bit of a disappointment. Prices were a bit high, but the quality was very good. We will return.
Simply delicious! Expertly prepared fish and seafood with such creativity. The sauces are soup bowl worthy! Sure, it's a smitch tight but nothing that kept me from giving it 5 stars for ambience, and I was under the menu board in the corner. Loved watching the live chef show! Can't wait to return!
Amazing food...never the same plate twice.
Special occasions worthy...
Dont miss this south philly GEM!!
Absolutely the best BYOB in Philly. Excellent service and
outstanding seafood. Always look forward to going back for an exceptional meal.
Service was wonderful. The scallops were delicious. Unfortunately, the hasmini was flavorless and the tile fish wasn't cooked all the way through. Very disappointing for my favorite restaurant and the price for dinner.
I've been here several times, and each time is a great dining experience. The food is truly amazing here.
The food was absolutely delicious. Prepared in innovative ways. I never had scallops so wonderful.
Fresh ingredients used uniquely. Food served hot right from the stove top to the table.
A definite go to if you love fish.
We came for the $48 prix fix meal to celebrate my birthday. I was really looking forward to our meal as we hadn't been in over a year, due to having a baby.
First "course" was really an amuse bouche with 3 bite-sized pieces of shrimp over diced pineapple. Next 2 courses were more reasonable (4 little neck clams + fried eggplant and then a tom yum soup with mahi mahi). The dessert course was a huge disappointment. Yogurt and berries. The yogurt was Pequea Valley with some honey mixed in, and the berries were bought at the grocery store (they were sitting in their plastic containers on the counter). I literally eat this for breakfast every morning (except with granola for some crunch!). When my husband complained to the server, she said "I didn't make up the menu". We used to come here for the Prix Fix menu when it was $38 and the food was much better back then.
This place never disappoints Intimate and interesting. Sunday Prix Fix is a great deal. Presentation, flavors and portions are just right.
Simply wonderful. Great food. My favorite kind of noise level.
Went on Sunday for the tasting menu, and was extremely happy. The lightly batteries tempura scallop was definitely my favorite. Everything was so fresh and meticulously prepared to perfection
Outstanding Sunday seafood tasting menu and an excellent value.
First impression walking in was being part of a bustling spot, every table full except ours, and lots of positive energy flowing. We were greeted by our amazing server, Stevie, who was very attentive to an empty wine or water glass and helped us discern the menu in order to select the perfect dishes for the night.
We shared an octopus starter as well as a shrimp tempura then had the fluke and scallops as our entrees. The sauces though, incredible! We opted for a piece of bread to sop up every last drop. Dessert was homemade blueberry ice cream with an interesting crumble, an absolutely perfect ending to an uh-mazing meal. The portion sizes were exactly right. Everything was 100% on point.
Next time I’m in Philly I will definitely be back.
Little fish was able to accommodate a gluten free diner easily. Anything the chef makes wiht Maitaki mushrooms is awesome.
Love the intimate feel of Little Fish. Amazing seafood selection updated daily on their chalkboard menu. Great for a date and great views to watch chef's in action. A true culinary experience.
True to its heart, only fishes and seafood are served here. A small place, reservation recommended.
The four small plates we shared were:
Yellow tail in a shell fish broth A- for mild flavor
grilled octopus in XO sauce A for unique creativity, a bit spicy and hot
Scallop A- for blending flavors from east and west
Shrimp cake D for lacking creativity, a copy cat Chinatown dim sum dish.
The entree Fluke dish deserved an A+ for perfect harmony with mushroom and cauliflower
Overall, the service was great, price value ratio was very high even for foodies. We commend the chef for daring to uses ingredients from all over the world.
One more thing, the bread and it’s dipping chimichurti was a good match.
The foood was amazing as usual! Ready to make another reservation!
Red snapper was incredible. Scallops for appetizer was the bomb. Portions are small and a little expensive but you should not leave hungry. Oysters on half shell were acceptable but lacking flavor.
Went for my birthday. We enjoyed the Sunday night, fixed price, 5-course menu ($45/person). The food was fabulous! I love how they served everyone the same courses simultaneously. It's very nice to not have to decide what to eat and just have scrumptious good delivered to your table. This place is a gem.
Little fish just keeps getting better and better. Not only is the food fantastic, but the service is amazing. I had noted in our OT rez that I have a garlic problem. They had read the note and prepared special sauces for me so that I could truly enjoy my meal. The vibe of the room is perfect. It's laid-back and fun, and yet this is seriously wonderful food. The $48 prix fixe on Sunday is a terrific value.
The food was great but much too expensive. The serving sizes were small. The restaurant has bad acoustics, so it was difficult to have a conversation. The wait staff and chef were lovely.
Amazing meal! Fresh, delicious, perfectly prepared. Highly recommend.
food fresh, service great, couldn't have been any better!!
We wanted a seafood restaurant which was BYO. This definitely fit the bill. The servers were lovely but I have a couple of issues with the place. Firstly, the menu is extremely limited both in options and in breadth. There were ONLY seafood options. No salad! No vegetarian. No chicken. Nothing---every single thing on the menu had seafood in it. I've never seen that before. It was not a problem for me as I love seafood but I have never encountered a restaurant that did not have a salad option!
My second issue is that I ordered an appetizer that was (and I am not exaggerating) 2 tablespoons of food on a dish. I almost fell out of my chair as I have never been served anything that small except for an amuse bouche. Yes, everything was very tasty and fresh but I will not be going back as I left hungry.
Also, parking in that area stinks.
Excellent food. Been there multiple times and it never disappoints. Menu keeps changing, keeping it fresh. The ingredients are very fresh and the service is super friendly. Highly recommended.
Went for the Sunday tasting menu. BYOB with no corkage fee. Excellent, interesting food. Outstanding service.
Outstanding food, from a handwritten menu that changes every day, and equally outstanding service. We will definitely go back the next time we're in Philadelphia.
Great food, great service. Best seafood in Philadelphia.
Incredible food and dining experience!
Extremely good. Pricey, which makes it not an everyday kind of place, but great for a semi-upscale and delicious meal. Also: oysters!
I was recommended this spot by several people and I’m so glad I finally listened! What a neighborhood gem!
