About
The food here is amazing! I love that the menu changes regularly and that the menu is small...gives me no reason NOT to try EVERYTHING!!! Fabulous food, service was top notch! Loved it!
Have lived in Phila for 7 years and this honestly could be my favorite restaurant. I like places that are quality over quantity. The limited menu of what is great tonight - is just that great.
My boyfriend and I just had our first experience at Little Fish and both agree this place deserves 5 stars. Our server was so friendly and attentive and the food was perfection! The menu was small but even so it was hard to make our selection when every dish sounded incredible. We brought a bottle of red and a bottle of white which both paired nicely with our meal. I think Little Fish is great for a date or a night out with a few friends. We definitely recommend checking it out!
(I included a picture of the tuna entree- I think it was my favorite dish!)
Great food!
Excellent and flavorful. Four of us we ordered six unique dishes and a couple of repeats. All six dishes were giveN rave reviews. My hamachi and pan seared Bronzino dishes were delicious with each accompaniment of the Bronzino in perfect balance. Service is very good, not at all rushed and we noticed that they pace things so at each course is served to all at a given table at the same time. No one waits for others to get their food.
I loved that the atmosphere was an open kitchen. The aroma from dishes being prepared was enjoyable and pleasant and often lead to comments during our table’s conversations. The menu was little and all fish. There were raw Oysters on the menu and three choices for both the First and the Second Course. We ordered oysters and two of the First Course plates: steelhead trout (sunchoke, dill, trout roe, and creme fraiche) and scallops (radicchio, caper, almonds, and sherry). Both dishes were delicious! The scallops had that perfect caramelization that I only seem to be able to successfully duplicate about 50% of the time when I prepare scallops. The other dish that we tried from the First Course was the steel trout. Beautifully prepared with great flavors going on.
Second Course. There were 3 people in our party so we had the opportunity to try all of the offerings for the evening. Second Course plates: halibut (wild mushrooms, potato, kale), branzino (brussel sprout, fennel, blood orange, and macadamia) and bigeye tuna (sweet potato, maitake, scallion, and mustard). The dishes were all prepared beautifully with particular detail paid to the plating of each dish. I will speak in detail to the bigeye tuna as that was my dinner. The tuna was perfectly pan seared and served over sweet potatoes. The mustard sauce was not coating the tuna, so you could enjoy the tuna on its own, but if you wanted, it was easy to coat the tuna with the mustard sauce on the plate.
The key feature that I liked about this restaurant was the limited menu. I often spend too much time agonizing over a menu when I have 20 plus choices for my entrée. A limited menu also allows the chef to make consistently perfect dishes. The service was beyond reproach. Although the restaurant was BYOB our waitress took control of our wine, kept it chilled, and made sure our glasses were always full. The next time I am back in Philly, Little Fish will definitely be on the menu!
This BYO restaurant is a tiny gem. The fish is extraordinary. Because of the size of the restaurant guests can actually talk while enjoying delicious food. One needs to plan far in advance to secure a reservation.
Five course tasting menu was excellent for adventurous seafood lovers!
Literally the most unbelievable meal I've had in quite some time!! Cannot wait to go back, everything was BEYOND amazing!! Scallops, oysters, tuna, HALIBUT! Off the charts. Will be back!!
The food was excellent, but it was freezing inside!
Wonderful, thoughtful sea food and attentive service.
Always consistent. Always great! One of my top 5 in Philly.
Delicious fish and shellfish dishes. Best hamachi, cod and tuna we’ve ever tasted. Service was great too. Will come again.
The food was outstanding! Even on Valentines Day with a fixed menu, the food was still amazingly good and we tried everything.
Lovely date place with excellent, beautifully presented food. Good preparations with restrain that let the ingredients carry the day. Thanks!
Borderline excellent. Food, ambiance, service and location.
A little on the pricey side, though. Other than that, a frequent repeat experience it'll be.
Keep up the good work!
One of my favorite restaurants in all of Philly. Never disappoints. Thanks for an awesome Valentine’s evenjng for my wife and I.
The menu and restaurant are small and the food is wonderful. Everyone was overjoyed with there dinner.
This is my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. I live in Phila and dine out every night so I visit a lot of restaurants. This one is consistently THE BEST! I love a lot of other restaurants, but Little Fish never disappoints. I am happy that the Philadelphia critics mostly review the new restaurants, because Little Fish can be too crowded even without the reminders.
The menu changes every week and the results are always good. Someone has an amazing palette and creates interesting and delicious dishes consistently. The sauces are amazing. Save some bread as a mop-up.
Always great! Sunday is the best deal in Philadelphia. We usually go during the week. Sunday is truly a pleasant surprise. Chefs dishes are unique. The fish is fresh & perfectly prepared.
fabulous food
The food at Little Fish is absolutely amazing!! I’ve never had anything like it. Our server Alyssa was so very wonderful and welcoming! I would recommend Little Fish to anyone and everyone!!
Highly recommend going on a Sunday for the 5 course tasting. Everything was so fresh and cooked to perfection. New favorite spot
We love Little Fish! The great food, superb friendly service, and cozy atmosphere make it a go to place for us. K had the awesome branzino and I had the fantastic tuna. Not only is the fish fresh, but paired with great veggies and or starch in delicious sauces.
Excellent food and service. The restaurant's credit card scanner was out and they called ahead of time to make sure we knew it would be cash only. That is the work of a professional organization.
Very fresh fish. Everything was pretty delicious.
The food was carefully crafted. Respecting fish delicate flavors. I did not know BYOB meant to bring your own bottle so I missed that piece; but that one is on me. We had a great time
Everything was great. Just a little on the expensive side for a BYOB. We loved everything. Huge fan of the small menu.
Amazing experience from start to finish. I actually don’t eat meat or fish but my fiancé had been wanting to come since we live around the corner. They confirmed over email they could accommodate and did so with flying colors. Amazing creative dishes!
The food is beyond wonderful. Every bite was fabulous. We tried two apps and split an entree. That was more than enough field for two fo is. However, the menu is all fish. You can not get a salad or side veggie. I would like it better if they added one or both to the menu. It would be helpful in another way. Some of our family and friends are vegetarian and there is nothing for them to order.
It was again an one wonderful experience!
We went for the sunday tasting menu. It was all absolutely delicious! Highly recommend
A long time Philly favorite of mine.
We did the 5 course tasting menu that was absolutely stunning. Everything was well prepared and extremely tasty.
The food was amazing. My husband and I wanted a fancier dinner while we were in Philly, and Little Fish did not disappoint. All of the food was extremely fresh, and so tasty. The ambiance was so nice and intimate. It was the perfect place for a nice date night.
Truly exceptional fish. Light, inventive, flavorful. Wow!
Fabulous meal.
Perfectly made fish. Wonderful pace of meal. Informative but invisible service ( the best). First time back in some time...amazing meal!
Local gem. Incredible fish superbly prepared and presented.
Nice little corner restaurant with great fish entree selections.
