Valentine’s Day. We celebrate later in the month because of our heart vibes. It’s personal, please do not inquire. But, will answer any questions you have by June of 2020. Anyways, back to the review. Loved it.
Food and service were great. It would have been perfect if we could have seen each other, but the lighting is so low that I was tempted to ask for a candelabra for the table.
We waited till 9pm to make a reservation cause they’re always busy. My friend had work but still wanted to go for me cause I just came back to town for a funeral. We were there until 9:20pm for a table we had booked for 9pm. I kept asking for a manager and they kept deflecting till they could seat us. They could’ve at least comped us for the drinks we got at the very crowded bar while we waited but again they refused to get the manager. Never again, very disappointing.
Amazing, all around!! Menu choices were superb and the quality of the food we ordered, outstanding - everything from the Parker House rolls with truffle butter, the Green Beans with fermented black beans and the Grilled Branzino with Thai Chili Vinaigrette. The ambiance was lively and casual. It was an extremely busy Sunday night (holiday weekend), but all restaurant staff were pleasant and unflappable (given the # of people they had to serve!) We have been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time and now that we finally have, we know we will definitely return!! Kudos to Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonette for their exquisite collaboration.
Food and service was outstanding. I only wish that the noise level was a little lower. There were 5 of us and I was at the head of the table and I couldn't hear my friends at the end of the table.
The food was some of the best and most creative I’ve had in Boston. Drinks were also top notch as was service. Only negative is it was so dark I could barely read the menu.
Great experience. Great food. Glad we got a reservation
Food is amazing. BLT lettuce wraps are incredible. Tables are a little close together. Otherwise, can't go wrong.
I have been to Little Donkey a few times now. Each experience has been nothing short of fantastic. Unbelievable food, super friendly staff and great atmosphere. Perfect spot for a first date, or for routine tapas. The tuna poke is to die for!
always so loud, makes it hard to talk to friends.
wouldn't recommend the burger. very thin patty and topped with too much "stuff" to even distinguish the tastes from one another. tuna poke is very good
Amazing food. Very creative chef! service was poor and food was served in a rush...I would have enjoyed it more if they had paced the dishes.
Overall it was a great experience. The food was a little on the salty side, but still good.
Our favorite place in Boston and our birthday go-to. It's fun to bring 4-5 people so you can make a big dent in the menu and try all the things. King crab nachos, Pok pok cauliflower, and phat lao were the winners for us this time. The flavors and variety of items are everything.
The food was really good and s unique brunch menu that's a bit out there. It's definitely worth checking out for a yummy meal. That being said the service was very focused on turning tables and wasn't attentive. I hadn't even swallowed the last bite on my plate before someone whisked it away. The server then immediately popped up to o offer us our check, we'd barely been seated for 30min.
Food was excellent. It was definitely crowded and loud. The tables are packed right on top of each other so there's not a lot of privacy.
A phenomenal food experience.
Always a fun place with great energy and superb food!
The food and service was amazing!!
Food was inventive and beautifully done without being too gimicky. Service was very good, and the timing of delivery of tapas was right on. However as the evening advanced the noise level soon got out of control, and we were shouting at each other, taking the edge off of a very good meal. The bill was very high. We had just eaten at an equally interesting small plates restaurant in Cambridge a week ago for 1/4 or 1/3 less...
I've wanted to go here for awhile now and I loved it! I came with a friend before a Celtics game to avoid the restaurant crowds around TD Garden. Little Donkey has a rustic/hip vibe to it and would be a great spot to grab drinks after work or a place to start your night out! I definitely recommend sharing plates, so come with a companion you are food compatible with.
The menu here is very unique! They offer a variety of dishes from all around the world, very cool. The portions are small so definitely order a decent amount (2-3 dishes per person)! Beware, it is a bit pricey for what you're getting. For starters, we ordered the burrata and BLT lettuce wraps! Both were great, but the BLT lettuce wraps were our favorite of the two. They come deconstructed, so it's fun putting them together with your own customized sauce ratios. The bacon was SO good as well as the fancy house made ketchup. This isn't the most filling dish in the world, so I would order it if you're looking for a lighter, healthier option. For our main dishes we ordered the Manti and the Branzino. The Manti was awesome! The red pepper garlic sauce is to die for.
I ordered an Australian Pinot Noir because of a fundraiser they were having but definitely want to come back to try their cocktails! I have also been eyeing their brunch menu. Overall, great time here and great service! I recommend.
Portions were decent and wait staff were friendly and helpful. The craft drinks were on point. Definitely a great dining experience. We loved the variety of dishes to choose from.
Fabulous food, energetic environment and great service!!
Really, really, really need to invest in better silverware. That is embarrassing to charge those prices and have the worst of the worst cafeteria grade silverware.
It was great!
Thanks for making it such a great experience. Appreciate the attention to detail and the friendliness of the staff.
Incredible food. The prices were a bit high for the incredibly small portions. Also the place should look a little more upscale if they’re going to charge upscale prices.
Awesome food! So unusual and delicious. Service was perfect too! Will definitely come back.
Truly amazing!!! Every dish is beyond sophisticated, the floor pairings, the textures, the variety is unmatched. Can't wait to go back! We had a great evening, thank you so much! Keep up the great work!
Also, we loved our "person"! She was knowledgeable, pleasant, extremely helpful and made the experience fantastic!
Food is creative and delicious. It’s very loud in the restaurant and that’s my major complaint. That said, d go back again and again
I basically enjoyed the food however the sausage was too scorched and we ordered vegetarian Vietnam crape but the pork was put inside. Hole staff asked us if it is okay or not however it would have been better if the order correctly followed.
Too dark. Please turn the lights up a bit to stop the glare from everyone's cell phone flashlights!
Little Donkey is the best - they consistently serve beautiful and interesting food with the freshest ingredients AND excellent cocktails and wine. Wonderful servers make it an experience and the vibe is both lively and intimate.
Anytime I end up in the Boston area, I try to hit little donkey. It never disappoints, and I always leave wishing I had more room to eat even more food..
fantastic, interesting, creative food - loved it all
Too loud. But delicious and fun.
This is a great brunch spot. I think their quiche is the best in town. The oysters are tasty and served with a spicy sauce, as well as a jelled mignonette. Good bloody mary, too. Friendly service at both table and bar.
Great brunch in a fun and cozy venue. The food is tapas style to plates are small, and though things are not really easy to split/share, the dishes are really enough for a light and not too expensive meal. Excellent service and very delicious.
Great food in a fun environment!
The staff at little donkey are the absolute best in Boston. The food is so good and varied. Always recommend LD to anyone looking for a new spot
