Anniversary dinner. Was surprised with champagne and dessert. Great service, delicious food, and awesome night
Every food item was on pointe and the staff were great! Thank you...
Favorite restaurant in Cambridge and always a crowd pleaser.
Our table wasn't available on time and we waited for about 15 minutes at the bar. It didn't bother us , but our hostess ordered some appetizers on the house. It wasn't necessary but it was a good start of the evening and a great gesture from the hostess. Food was delicious and the service was outstanding. I've been there 3 times now and will definitely go back again:
The best restaurant we may have ever been to! Little Donkey blew every expectation we had out of the water. We were all in agreement that the cheeseburger was the best we have ever had in our life! Also our server Jen made our experience even better. GO HERE, you will not regret it.
The menu doesn’t do the food justice here! Tapas were fantastic with vibrant and complex flavors. Great place to go with friend(s) to share multiple dishes. Prices were reasonable but on the more expensive side, however I think the price is definitely worth the value for the food. Great atmosphere and very trendy as well. I will most definitely be coming back!
food was way too salty and very limited selections. Tuna poke bowl was way too salty and my sister’s fried chicken sandwich came w freezing cold buns.
Jen H. took great care of us and was quick to provide an alternative to the burrata, which they were out of. We focused mostly on fish and vegetarian dishes, but based on the dishes we did have, I will definitely be going back to try the rest.
Food: Poke with gochujang, pumpkin pupusa, spicy Thai street noodles, blowfish tails, and the churro ice cream sandwich
Drinks: Hive mind, buds & bumpers, the one in a grapefruit
Comments: the poke was super clean, with just enough gochujang funkiness and texture from the carrots and sesame seeds. The pupusa was crispy on the bottom, soft and melty in the middle, with some extra texture from the slaw. The street noodles were good, but overshadowed by the blowfish tails, which were amazing. The churro ice cream sandwich was chewier than expected and the ice cream softer than expected, but still good. The cocktails were well-balanced and flavorful. The one in a grapefruit in particular was excellent and not even a bit too sour.
The only reason I gave Little Donkey 4 out five stars for Value is that it is a bit expensive, but is most definitely worth it.
The service is good and there is a nice ambiance but dishes are small, costly yet not extraordinarily good, definitely do not justify the price. Airconditions blows right on your head or chest which made it unpleasa
Mostly excellent. Some dishes were a bit heavy with sauces. All in all I totally recommend
It was a great experience. I did not like the kimchi but everything else was great.
Excellent creative “world cuisine” small plates dining. The plates are meant to be shared and this is a great spot for foodie eaters. Two negatives for me were: noise level (not a place for quiet conversation) and dim lighting which made it difficult to read the menu. I saw multiple people using their cell phones as flashlights, and although this is somewhat annoying, I was tempted to do this myself.
The food never disappoints- nor does the energy and vibe of the restaurant. The amazing staff is just the icing on the cake!
Loved everything, upset I could not eat more as every single thing sounded bomb!!
Hands-down one of the best restaurants in Cambridge.
Food was a bit salty for our taste on a couple of dishes but overall very good
Lively atmosphere in airy, modern space. Creative asian/eastern influenced tapas provided by excellent service.
Excellent food. I recommend the hummus, chicken wings and potatoes. Service was good. We went during lunch so there is a smaller menu. We will definitively go back for dinner.
Excellent blend of small plate options.
Noise was up there. And boy was it dark; a situation made worse by all the phone flashlights in use to counteract the darkness.
Every dish was unique, flavorful, and plate licking good! The staff took great care of us and Jaime stopped by to say hello and check on our dining experience. We will definitely be back
Little Donkey paired great food with a nice ambiance and exceptional service. I enjoyed the fact that, while Spanish in its food style (tapas), the menu provided a truly global offering. We particularly enjoyed the smokey flavor of the Italian burrata and devoured the spicy thai street noodles which, true to their name, delivered a hot and piquant taste. The cocktails were good and the dessert--a churro ice cream sandwich--was sweet but not too rich. Decor, lighting etc. felt average, but the exceptional service made up for it.
Went for brunch. Ordered tapas for three people. Most of the food selections on the menu we're great.
Terrible food, price, value. Disappointed each time I go. Will avoid as much as possible.
Finally made it to this place!! Was sooooo delicious. We ordered a bunch of things to share... notable dishes I will absolutely drive an hr to get again.... Octopus, Vietnamese ham, steak tartar and mussels. Other dishes that were good, but not out of this world were the pupusa and blowfish tails. Can't wait to go back and try more!!
Brunch was excellent. Food was amazing as usual. Food never disappoints. Love the setting.
been here twice now in the past month - great creative food, extraordinary servers with complete knowledge of the bar and food menus. Only thing to be ready for is how LOUD it is. With all the energetic people there the blaring music is a detraction from the experience.
This meal was one of the worst I've had in a year and a half in Boston. Our waiter duplicitously recommended a $150 bottle of wine, the most expensive one available, to our table without telling us the price or offering to show us the wine list with pricing, and lied and said it was "a very reasonable bottle". It was very poor service and I won't be returning.
Attentive and quick service. Food was good. Had a pleasant time.
Three couples of a certain age met to celebrate the New Year with brunch at Little Donkey. None of us had been to the restaurant before and we were looking for a fun adventure to start the New Year. We were not disappointed. The oyster shooters were spicy and compelling, the Bloody Mary's very piquant, and the food was deliciously adventurous. At the advice of our waiter we each ordered a different dish. The toad in the hole made with Bannana bread was a new twist on an old family favorite of mine. Others ordered avocado toast, spicy Mexican shrimp, thai street noodles, carnitas hash and green chorizo tacos. We all were thrilled with our meal and really enjoyed experiencing the play of different flavors.
While the hostess was accommodating to our group from three from the two person reservation, we never saw our waitress again after she took our order. The food was underwhelming realize to the price. Meh
Best restaurant in the area!
it's a new year . If Uve not found it -Lucky you.The best is yet to come.
For the rest-Lucky us !
Outstanding selection of small plates, unusual offerings, great variety of skillfully prepared, imaginative dishes. Well informed server who knew the menu and the wine list. The food came fast and we were able to add items as we ate along. This is a keeper and we'll be back. Our goal is to try everything on the menu. We loved everything we tried, maybe 8 different plates. It's right across the street from the former Rendezvous and helps take the sting from its passing.
We met friends here for brunch on a cold Sunday. The food was very good (French toast, quiche, and burger), but the quiches came out about 15 minutes after the other meals, which was not good. We shared a pitcher of Bloody Mary's which tasted excellent. We will return again, but they should even out the delivery of the meals more closely together.
The best meal I’ve had in Boston all last year. Fabulousness
Friendly, knowledgeable wait-staff; decent food, although a bit pricey and a bit heavy on the oil/salt/fried aspect.
We loved our experience. Our server Alex was awesome and very personable. The type of server you hope you get when you're going out for a nice dinner. From the beginning he greeted us, made really great recommendations and remained conscious of us all the way through. The food he suggested was great. We loved the burger and the duck nachos. Afterwards, Alex took the time to find out that we were from out of town and gave us a list of some of his favorite places to visit, including one of their sister resturants. Food was consistent and tasty, cocktails were delicious, and Alex made sure my date and I had a great experience. Would definitely recommend!
Enjoyed our food very much and appreciated the flexibility that allowed us to add two more people at the last minute. It is a bit too dark and too loud for my taste.
Delicious tastes and choice combinations and options. Great plates to share and explore new foods. Fun atmosphere and attentive staff!
