Great boutique hotel bar experience. Very comfy bar stools with backs, or sofa's in the foyer, welcomed us into this hidden gem. (There are also ~10 tables). The staff was incredibly well informed about Italian cocktails, wine, and Amares, and they stay focused on ensuring everyone is well looked after as a team. The pizza and salad were excellent, and my wife enjoyed the gluten free options (meatballs and salad). The larger restaurant also looked fun. We will be back.

The bartender was extremely knowledgeable on the subject of bitters and did a great job explaining the different types and uses. Definitely recommend the flight if you’re curious about the uses and different flavors. I also had the Margherita pizza and it was cooked perfectly and was surprisingly good.

Food was and 8.5/10. Went during happy hour. Wasn't crowded. Would have liked music to be turned down a little. The bartender/wait staff was delightful.

This is a nice bar and restaurant, and obviously a lot of thought and design went into the concept. I think if the service had been better this would have been a much better experience. We went on a Tuesday before a show. There were a few other people in the bar for happy hour, but then it cleared out and we were the only party there. Appetizers came out fine, but then it was 30 minutes and we were still waiting for the steak. We flagged down the server to see if it was coming soon, and he said the ribeye "takes a really long time". This would have been great information for him to tell us before we ordered it, since we had a time limit. Also I've made a lot of ribeye in my life and I can't figure out what steak preparation would require over an hour. By the time the steak arrived we had to put it straight into a takeout bag. It was a LOT of steak-- way too much for two people. Overall it was just a haphazard and disappointing experience. I was also looking forward to trying one of their amaro flights since I love amaro, and that's the theme of the bar. The bartender told me he didn't know what amaros were in the flights but he would check. He never returned with that information.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that your visit did not meet your expectations. I apologize for the delays in service you experienced between the ribeye and amaro flight information. I'll make sure to highlight communication on the cook times at our next meeting, and to have Grand Amari's flight information more readily available for the bartenders in Little Bitter Bar. We also apologize for the confusion regarding the portion size of our steak. We aim to provide generous servings but understand that this may not suit everyone. We’ll take your feedback into consideration and see how we can improve. Best, Michael, General Manager

Heads up- this restaurant does not actually participate in OpenTable so it will say there are open tables but when you get there, they will tell you that you can sit yourself at the bar or eat in the lobby. Appetizers are good! Drinks are good. Pizza is super salty but good. Focaccia was delicious.

I'm so happy you enjoyed all of the drinks and food! Best, Michael, General Manager

My party and I went for happy hour and had the best experience. We had a couple of drinks that were very well-mixed along with wine, appetizers and pizza. Everything was delicious, the pizza dough was perfect and among the best we’ve had in Portland (we’ve lived here for years.) It was quiet for a Friday night, but we couldn’t have enjoyed our experience more. I think the value was exceptional for happy hour prices, and even full-price items were definitely worth it. Please check out Little Bitter Bar!

Hi Veronica! So glad you enjoyed our happy hour offerings. It is truly an outstanding happy hour, and that Margherita pizza for $10 is my personal favorite. Looking forward to having you in again soon! Best, Michael, General Manager

Working in the service industry, I know that menus and water SHOULD be on the table in the first 5 minutes of arrival. I was shocked that we had to ask our server twice for water! It took 10 min to get menus on the table. Since it was a seat yourself situation, I began moving two tables together. I got approached with a big “no no! don’t do that!” and told that customers are “not thoughtful” when moving the tables. I felt she was not being thoughtful with her choice of words. With the experience I have, I tried moving those tables like I was at work. Lastly, I felt uncomfortable by how close the server was getting to me. Especially when telling me what she didn’t want us to do. She didn’t move nearly as close to my friend, just me. I can understand completely why you wouldn’t want the clientele moving the tables. It was primarily the way she informed us not to move them. Being mindful of that moving forward could be an opportunity for great growth. Thank you for listening to me.

Hi there, so sorry the service fell short on your visit here. I regret that the lack of warmth and wait time subtracted from your experience. I will make sure to talk to the bartender on duty that day to make sure we are only delivering the best hospitality. Hope to have you in again to show you the love we want all of our guests to feel. Had a last fling of the summer type of mint spritz with elderflower liquer, prosecco, mint and soda for happy hour which was delicious and a wonderful suggestion from the bartender. Definitely one for the make at home list. The happy hour snacks were quite good. Don't miss the deep fried olives!!! I nearly ate three bowls of these alone! Very casual and comfortable. I would recommend a stop after work any day of the week.

Overall, good ambiance and service. However, the drinks were overpriced – particularly the Snowgroni, which is a small negroni frose for $17?! The happy hour prices were good.
