We got together with friends and were very pleased with the delicious food. The steak-frites are a great classic, nicely done, and the duck was succulent and well accompanied.

Best portland dining experience yet. Food was excellent - both the duck and salmon were incredible, service was spot on, atmosphere is chill yet still pleasantly posh..

All this and less expensive than a lot of joints in town consistently performing well under Lil Bird.

We love Little Bird. Such a cozy, unpretentious spot with excellent, creative, yet comforting food. I took my husband here for a casual birthday dinner - he had a beet salad and fried chicken coq au vin that he raved about and I had the chicken fried trout, which was perfect. Our server was so kind and patient, he even brought us glasses of the most divine sparkling white wine between courses. Dessert was a scrumptious tarte Tatin with peanut ice cream and a candle to wish upon- a lovely evening.

Always a great experience. Salmon special was fantastic. Pork brisket delicious. Loved the seared foie gras and Brussels sprouts.

Someone else in my party selected this venue. I didn't care for the flavor combinations (e.g., mushroom risotto with pickled topping), and it's rather expensive for lunch. If you like French food, then perhaps this would be a great place for you. Not my ideal though. On the plus side, the servers were nice and the coffee was really good.

I fell in love with Little Bird Bistro the first time I ate here! My boyfriend and I come here often for date nights and special occasions. The food, drinks, and service are always amazing! This will forever be one of our favorite restaurants in Portland.

We were happy with our experience. I think if we had been on the main floor we would have enjoyed it more. We ended up being the only people left on the top floor where the music and ambiance were more muted.

This is our favorite lunch place in Portland. The Belle Oiseau white wine is superb. The salad is dressed perfectly with an excellent assortment of greens. The grilled vegetable sandwich is delicious and the burger is superb! For dessert, we had a cranberry upsidedown cake. It was sized perfectly and the horchata ice cream was perfect with the cake.

The Good:
The atmosphere was a little loud but I don't have any complaints. The service was good and the brussel sprouts were crispy and delicious.

The Bad:
The pork rillette was cold and greasy (it would have been much better warm). The fried chicken Coq au van was good, but nothing special and that was pretty much the whole recipe along with a little sauce and mashed potatoes . The chicken was good, but a more appropriate name would be fried chicken. My wife ordered the king salmon, which she really enjoyed. I thought it was good too, but not more than anywhere else I've ordered king salmon.

Le Pigeon is one of our favorite local restaurants and we wanted to see what Little Bird was all about. We will not be going back. I can only speak for the dishes that we tried, but overall we were unimpressed.

Second time that I've been here, but this time for dinner. First time was a butternut squash soup topped with creme fraiche, a perfect baguette and a fantastic glass of wine. Simple, clean and perfectly prepared. Dinner was no different. Greeted in the most friendly way that said I'm here to make you're night delightful. Got a terrific seat upstairs in the loft overlooking the main dining area. A perfectly dry martini in a coupe glass followed by 6 huge Netarts oysters, and the chicken fried "coq au vin." I was thrown by the name at first but after asking the waitress how it was prepared, she admitted they used the coq au vin terminology a bit liberally. Wow was that good! She said it is their most popular item. It was so good that I seriously considered ordering a second. Instead, i settled for an espresso and the butterscotch mousse. OMG it was more like a light pudding, which was precisely what I was hoping for. Damn that was good. What a special evening made out of a dinner reservation before a show at the Schnitz (walkable in 11 minutes). Merci, mes amis a Le Petit Oiseau. Je te reverrai bientot.

We were provide with a preferential seating based on the reservation. The service was good, we had waiter who was knowledgeable and attentive. Food was excellent with a good selection. The price fixe was a good option. Spendy for a normal lunch but perfect for a date.

We were there for a meal for date night and pre theater meal. We arrived a little before our 530 reservation and ordered Salmon special and Seared NewYork-Strip. After waiting almost an hour for our food to arrive after we ordered we asked when our food was going to arrive. We were told it takes a while to cook a NYStrip and it would be out shortly. The waiter then went and checked on it and said it was resting and would be out in a few minutes. Ten minutes later we got our food. Now forgive me but I don't know what place in the world takes that long to cook a med-Rare steak. Pretty sure our food was forgotten and unless we asked we would not have gotten any food before our show. Yes they gave a free half glass of wine which was good because our bottle was running out because we had been there for so long. I have been to many meals that take time but you are expecting that for multiple courses. But don't lie and be upfront if you have issues I know stuff happens.

The food was excellent.

We made it clear that that we needed to be finished by 7PM. We started at 5PM which should have been plenty of time. By 7:15 we were telling the busser to wrap the desserts to go. Never finished my espresso.

We jumped in an Uber but barely made it to the theatre on time. It was not a pleasant finish to the meal.

Our waitress took several orders from others who had come in after us even though we made it clear we were on a schedule. No word of apology. My husband did not even get the dessert that he ordered.

Fortunately I’ve never had an experience like this before especially in an upscale venue. It was just not appropriate for a restaurant of this caliber.

There was a spider in my salad. They told me it’s becuase their green are “so fresh” either way it was a protein I wasn’t expecting, and I would have expected it to be taken more seriously by the staff, no manager came over to readdress my confidence, or apologize. Server did offer a free glass of wine, but I don’t drink. Huge fail on whoever was expediting in the kitchen. It also effected my faith in the quality of the rest of my food which was good. Overall I don’t know if I’d go again. Service was nice but very slow. I have a photo of the spider in the salad but I’ll choose not to share.

Wonderful small restaurant in downtown Portland-- fantastic service. We shared small plates and our server paced the courses-- never rushed us and he make great recommendations. Everything was fresh and flavorful; good reasonably priced wines by the glass. Prices were moderate for the quality of the food.

Little Bird served an exceptionally incredible king salmon with prawns on a recent visit. It was definitely cooked the way salmon should be cooked - almost underdone. The sauce spooned on top had flavours with a hint of nutmeg and cinnamon that bounced off of each other and the salmon. The wine menu was limited by the glass but the wines that we had were excellent. Service was efficient, friendly and well-timed. An excellent dinner all around.
