You could throw a dart at the food and wine list and anything it lands on will be amazing. The trout is life changing.
Shame on the chef to pickle Chanterelles
always a good bet for wonderful food and great service
You will need a reservation.. (at least for Friday evening - when we went) - but its worth the effort - and the wait (not all folks leave when they are supposed to) - and its always hard for any restaurant to resist the urge to over-book. We found the staff to be very professional, courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. The menu was interesting, without being OTT. The food was most defiantly excellent and worth spending the money on. You will enjoy this restaurant.
Lovely spot and great service. My mussel were just warm and I wish the frites might have had some aoili to go with them.
Wine Flight with food pairing was delicious
We were seated upstairs at a cute table on the balcony. The server was knowledgeable and efficient.the food was delicious!
Wonderful food, charming atmosphere, excellent service.
A wonderful birthday dinner!
I have been sick with a stomach virus and cramps since I visited.
wonderful little restaurant, amazing food, cool space, look forward to returning
Unfortunately Little Bird did not deliver. It came highly recommended by a friend. Food just didn't taste good. Service was decent (a little slow to start). Ambiance nice. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place.
I was excited about he visit as we had a great experience couple of years ago and though would be a great place to go back to. My wife has Gluten allergy so her choices were limited to a hand full of items on the menu. I send restaurant an email and also added the special request around gluten free offerings in my open table reservation but no one even looked at it. Restaurant called to confirm the reservation the day of and di not even look at the comments. disappointing.
Excellent evening at Little Bird with a visiting French colleague. She loved it, and it is the perfect spot to have great food and conversation (perfect noise level).
Really lovely little bistro . Innovative take on French classic
Great food. Appetizers through dessert. The wine list is exceptional, with variety and price point.
Highly recommended but ended being pretty average.
Fabulous meal and superb service we will return and try the dessert
Excellent wine list
Loved the whole evening
This has to be one of our favorite restaurants in Portland and we’ve been to almost all in the top 20. Very cozy and the charcuterie and dinner was exquisite.
Did not think that appetizers and entree’s selection was good. We liked the cheese board and the meat board the best.
Food was amazing. Jordan was better. Overall outstanding meal.
Sadly disappointing. Entreé was so salty, it wasn’t edible. Server delightful but scarce. Expresso pot de crème heavenly.
Great little date spot, I went there with my lady for our anniversary -- the food was excellent and, perhaps it was the time of day, but arrived to our table fairly quickly. The service was fast and friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was out of this world.
Great meal and good environment
Great food and beautiful ambiance. Excellent date spot
Tuna tartare was exceptional as was the foie grad, also the desserts. Overall, the experience exceeded expectations
Birthday lunch with my darling of 46 years. Every moment at Little Bird was what a great French bistro should be. The cocktails were well made. The menu was broad enough to cover most everyone’s lunchtime desires. The food we ordered was outstanding.
Service was crisp, accurate, polite and unobtrusive. My only carp...at $12.00 for a Hendricks gin is adding another $3 to make it into a straight up martini really necessary. $15 for a 2 1/2 ounce martini is probably a bit steep, even for this fine restaurant group.
Really delicious.... excellent service
The food was uniformly fantastic. Wait staff was superb, but it did take a little too long for the food to be delivered for a lunch meal. Would gladly return, though, as the food is just exceptional.
Had a great meal celebrating my son’s birthday! Our server Eric was excellent and took wonderful care of us.
I’ve been wanting to come to this restaurant since 2016 when I first visited Portland on a girls trip. The sign stuck out to me and I took a picture of it. 3 years later, I’m preparing to move here and had come out to see my new house. I thought to myself, now’s the time! I went to lunch by myself and ate the most beautiful meal. It’s made with love and intention. I ordered sparkling rosé, endive & nectarine salad and the gnocchi. Delicious. For my taste, gnocchi needed a touch of salt. Otherwise perfect. For dessert (of course I ordered dessert!) I chose the Bubbles & Berries which was a champagne sorbet and homemade cream over fresh berries. 2 shortbread cookies on the side. Such a treat! Great service, relaxing atmosphere. I absolutely loved every moment.
Outstanding food, flavors, presentation, variety, EVERYTHNG! Oysters, in house SPAM, halibut, steak Pom frites, desert, coffee, wine list. No faults. No flaws. Highly recommend .... you will not be disappointed.
We love the creative dishes and all the little touches that go into visual presentation and successfully joining flavors. There were a few distractions in ambiance and food. At a downstairs table for two, we were seated 1 foot away from, essentially adjacent to, another couple who were loud and boring. And I thought the duck breast was too smokey, which overwhelmed the duck flavor. Loved the endive & nectarine salad. Loved the chocolate forest cake.
Special mention to the sommelier. We were again impressed by his depth and breadth of wine knowledge. Thank you for his selections.
Little Bird Bistro never disappoints. The service and food are both outstanding, and there is a carefully curated wine-by-the glass list. The endive and nectarine salad was particularly delectable, and my partner enjoyed his halibut as well as the raw oysters.
Great food! Fantastic combination of flavors. French based.
I have been to Little Bird at least a dozen times and this visit the service was a bit uneven. It took quite a long time for a server to appear. Drinks were ordered and appeared and we ordered two "sides" as appetizers. When the server returned with the wine she asked if we wanted appetizers. We said that yes, we thought that they had been ordered. We then ordered our meals. Half way through the appetizers my plate & utensils were wisked away and dinner appeared. Had I thought of it at the time I would have asked that they take the dinners back until we were finished with our first course.
Most of the menu items are there year-round but during summer months it would be nice to have something a littler lighter. Also some changes or new items available.
Little Bird was great as usual. But I really miss their old menu. No chicken!?! I always though of this restaurant as French bistro kind of food. Albeit better. And while the food remains quite good, there was nothing on the menu that wowed us.
Our table was ready upon our arrival. Server greeted us promptly and drinks were soon delivered. We had the app special which was 3 “bites” paired with 3 wines for $20. Was SO worth it. So delicious, different, fun. I enjoyed my halibut entree and guests enjoyed the pork shoulder and Mac ‘n Cheese (which I plan to order next time!). Dessert was a unique ice cream and a sorbet. They arrived melted but the server noticed and quickly brought fresh ones.
This is the place to go to wake up your taste buds and savor every morsel.
Once again, we had a great lunch at Little BIrd. Excellent food and friendly service
