Great food and fantastic service. One of our favorites for celebrating.
Great food, one of the better steaks I’ve ever had. Great food for an even better price for what you get. Mac n Cheese was a good choice also
The only thing better than the food is the service! Knowledgeable staff and delicious food.
Roasted chicken breast was outstanding! The spring roll appetizer was also delicious, even my husband agrees and he is not a fan of spring rolls typically. The mac and cheese is a must try!
Atmosphere was great. Building was new. Restrooms are new and clean. Food was five star. Cocktails were great as well. Recommend!
The VanGogh was excellent and cooked to perfection!
Such an amazing night celebrating my parents anniversary. Food was fantastic and our server was awesome! Thanks for a great night! ♥️♥️
Great food, Great service, Great time!!
Great ambiance and superb food. We will be back again for sure
Excellent service, wine, and food.
Will come back!
It was a great experience
Fantastic food, great service, superb wine list. A much better value than Ruby's and its family restaurants.
Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The past was amazing. Appetizers were amazing. Well worth the price. Sides are shareable. Great wines.
Wait staff is outstanding….better than
Paris Rome London and we have been to all 3…..Sincerely Christine Collins
This is a quiet dining option. Although they have TVs in the bar area, they keep the volume down. The server was friendly and attentive. The wine list is exceptional and they use large glasses for the reds. We had the small filets. They were cooked to perfection and delicious. We did not order any toppings for the steaks. A good steak can stand on its own. …which was the case here. Everything ordered tasted great, from appetizers to dessert.
The service and food is always great. I highly recommend this restaurant
Fun time. Good food.
Good food, large family style sides. Great wine and beer selections.
Lisse is consistently a quality experience. The food, service, and everything else was excellent.
You can’t ask for a better dining experience! Everything was exceptional! We will definitely be back!
Great food and great service
Had a very nice date night with my wife. A cozy quiet restaurant in the middle of Main Straus. Beer and wine menu was great, attentive service staff and a perfectly cooked steak all added up to a very pleasant dining experience. I ordered my dessert to go and unfortunately the cake was stale, had I bit into it at the restaurant I would have sent it back. In spite of that I still give this place 5 stars and plan on going back.
Wonderful place to eat, great atmosphere. I felt sorry for the servers because they were running like crazy. They were so short-staffed.
I took my out of town friend here and the food was delicious but we ended up being way over dressed, so note that this is a very casual restaurant. Our service was outstanding and the food was also great. I look forward to eating here again!
Really good food in a very pleasant atmosphere. Good spacing between tables and some soft decorative touches make it easy to converse without raising your voice. Steaks were absolutely perfect. None better anywhere! Attentive wait staff.
This was a return trip for us after being away for over a year & we were most definitely satisfied with our evening. From cocktails to the Lump Crab & Shrimp Salad and on to the Flounder, everything was delicious. Add in Emily’s friendly greeting and the excellent service we received and we couldn’t have asked for a more prefect evening.
All of the food we had was fantastic with the exception of my strip steak which I ordered medium rare and it came out blue the first time and barely rare after they took it back to reheat. The manager was great and comped us for the experience. However, I would expect a steakhouse to be able to perfect a steak. My girlfriend got a filet that was nicely cooked though.
My boyfriend and I had a great date night here! We were craving steak and this perfectly hit the spot. Side portions were huge, service was perfect. Great overall!
We had a great experience here. Erin, our sever is very personable, helpful with menu selection description & was able to give some background on the owners farm where some of the produce & beef comes from. Being a hobby farmer myself I really enjoyed that. The food was wonderful. Prices were what I expected for that type of dining. I'll be back for sure!
Great food. Perfect night to eat on the rooftop. Amazing view
Had dinner on the rooftop. Our waitress, Nicole, was outstanding. Very helpful in picking out food selections. All were very good. Great night.
Overall it was a great experience. Music in the outdoor seating area was a little loud for dinner conversation.
Great food - had the Van Gogh filet and the flounder, plus an Indo-Dutch entree to go
Great service - thanks Nicole and team!
Great ambience - rooftop dining on a gorgeous fall evening at sunset
Food was delicious. Service was attentive without being intrusive.
Best steak I've ever had. Wonderful service, beautiful atmosphere.
Food and service were fantastic!
At first, I thought the place might be German, but here's the description: "Dutch Inspired American Made Steakhuis in the heart of the beautiful Mainstrasse Village of Covington KY."
This place, overall, quite possibly exceeds the experiences a hungry carnivore will have at Morton's, Ruth's Chris, and Eddie Merlot's. Moreover, the experience and VALUE exceeds our local king of prime meat, Jeff Ruby.
Now, to decode that, any of Ruby's steak restaurants will offer a slightly better steak at perhaps a 40% price premium. But, Lisse has much to offer, and it is, relatively, a bargain.
Now, for a bit of a description of the ambiance: When you enter, you see a beautiful and airy expanse painted in natural light from the picture windows on two sides of the building; there's a Dutch-modern bar with a long rich red quartz bartop to your right, with high-top tables along a center "old" brick wall with the main dining room at left. The entire first floor is reminiscent of modern Dutch or Scandinavian decors you may have seen -- open, minimalist, and surprisingly intimate all at the same time.
There's a "conference center" for larger groups or meetings on the second floor and even outdoor seating on balconies. I would imagine the view would be breathtaking considering the restaurant is in the heart of Covington's German-themed Mainstrasse.
We started off with an item my German grandmother used to make, pea soup. This was the real deal. Absolutely delicious. I had the Greenhouse Salad. The dressing was delicate and flavorful.
We both had the 8 oz. filets. My wife had the Dutch Filet, an 8oz Filet, w/Beef Gravy @ $44, and I had the Van Gogh 8oz Barrel Cut Filet+Oscar @ $55.
We shared a huge baked potato and "Lightly Charred & Glazed" carrots.
For our final course, we ordered a "Boterkoek" (sounds like "butter cake") which looks like a piece of pie and takes like a warm butter cookie w/Lisse's vanilla ice cream. Wow!
All in $201.93. Our highest compliment: Repeatable.
Very nice view of the Cincinnati skyline
This is our favorite place to go for our anniversary. The rooftop sitting area is perfect!
