   We visited the Lion & Lamb mid afternoon for Christmas dinner. There was a lovely cosy atmosphere with a glowing firebox. We were given a choice of tables by the friendly and pleasent Giorgia. The choices on the menu had something for all of us - we had no special dietary requirements so we didnt notice what was available in terms of vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free but as the food was fresh , tasty and healthy I am sure they cater for all needs. This was our second " pub Christmas dinner"but far superior to the previous one, and, cheaper! Really enjoyed the food - fresh and tasty - compliments to the chef. Great service also from Giorgia. We highly recommend this lovely place , which has its own car park.

   When I booked the table I expected it to be in the dining area, not in the bar. I would not have booked it had I know we would be sat in the bar area. I found the restaurant very cold and I did overhear a member of staff advising that the heating was broken. I needed to wear a coat as I was so cold. Because we were sat in the bar area we were very close to the kitchen and every time the kitchen door was opened or left open it was extremely noisy with music blasting out and there was also a very cold draught coming from there. I would not be rushing back here which is such a shame as the food was really good.

   Disappointing evening overall. Pub cold - we had a draughty table stuck in doorway and next to WC ; menu photocopy was v difficult to read ; poor unattentive service - staff shortage? ; food underwhelming (chicken dish dry, salmon overcooked, under flavoured and inconsistently presented to 2 of our party, sausages dish very tasty). A shame really as this was a trip down memory lane - 30 years since we last visited the area and had a very beautiful and memorable meal there.

   Exceptional food in a proper pub with character. A great treat to round off our Autumn holiday exploring Northumberland.

   Went one rainy lunchtime - lovely warm and cozy. Excellent service - the young girl serving is a credit to you. We had homemade soup - sandwiches - glass of wine - pudding and coffees. All lovely and tasty and just what we needed. Highly recommended and always best to book to guarantee a table.

   Sunday roast was amazing. I had beef and my partner had pork. The beef was delish!!

   Great food, very accommodating of food allergies/preference. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back.

    A cosy Saturday afternoon with friends. Food was outstanding and good value for the quality on the set menu.
