Linger, the second concept behind Root Down's Chef/Owner Justin Cucci is located in Denver's Lower Highlands neighborhood. Linger’s vibrant menu reflects a broad farm-to-street sensibility with a spin on traditional ethnic eats. Design elements can be described as a purposeful contradiction featuring reclaimed boxcar floors, a brick ellipse, a Lite Brite bar top and infinity windows with incredible views into downtown Denver. The food, the service, the story combine to extract a feeling. Linger is like a mixtape, and we hope it connects. We’re not trying to reinvent food -- it’s simpler than that. We hope to elicit a feeling – like you get when you hear your favorite song.

Linger Ratings and Reviews
Linger is an absolutely fantastic find! We can't wait to go back and try some more delicious delacacies. The bottomless mimosas were totally worth it! We couldn't find the bottom of our pint glasses if we tried because the amazing waiter kept circling with a pitcher of well mixed mimosas. We enjoyed the pork Benedict, the challah French toast, and sweet potato waffle fries. It was all superb! We will highly recommend to all our friends.
We enjoyed our bottomless mimosas thoroughly - the blood orange ones are the way to go! I had the wagyu sliders and they were excellent. Just the right amount of food (two sliders and yummy sweet potato fries with chipotle ketchup). Our waiter could've spoken up a little bit more; he would raise his volume if we were talking about anything related to Texas but was not heard very well otherwise. Glasses were never empty and our food did not take long at all. I prefer to have a reservation because you sit in the lower dining room, but the upper lounge is nicer for more intimate meals (it's a free for all with tables though).
Food was uniquely and impeccably prepared, and packed with flavor. The spot is very cool with great ambiance. The server was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Perfect for hanging out, chatting and experiencing the food. It was an enjoyable experience overall and down to the details.
Linger has a wonderful atmosphere and the food choices are interesting. The portions are meant for shared plates which allows you to try many different flavors. They had many gluten free options and healthy, tasty options. This is a restaurant I would definitely return to.
The menu features food from many different parts of the world.
We moved out of Denver and recently returned for brunch at Linger. We had loved Linger, but find that often things change and not for the better. We brought our family here and nobody was too sad about our meal, but certainly nobody, including us, understood why we had chosen this place as our special meeting place.
Finally got to a spot we had heard of often; and were pretty disappointed. Menu hitting a lot of different types of food but scattered, like Disneyland of dining. The waitstaff was efficient but generic and cool, pseudo-caring but forgetting drink orders and telling us pretty much everything we ordered was his "favorite". Huge hype around this restaurant, don't imagine we'd make a second visit, too many other, authentic restaurants in town.
We went here for my birthday dinner, it was 6 of us. Top to bottom it was a win. Delicious wine, enjoyed every plate we got (and we ordered like 9 different plates) the service was absolutely stellar, and the price was extremely reasonable for 6 of us! I was TOTALLY pleased and will be back again!
I'd been here 2-3 times previously and enjoyed it but hadn't been compelled to come back. This time (about 2 years later) my mind was blown. Every one of the 6 dishes we had was SPECTACULAR and there were many more I wanted to try. Service was impeccable too. Will def be back, sooner vs later.
Linger had a cool atmosphere and really good food. Quite a variety of different items. I had Pork Belly Bao Bun and Wagyu Beef Sliders while my friend had the Ramen. Both were very delicious! I'm not sure I agree with their sharing concept. I think it's a cool idea but they don't really have the menu for it . It's categorized as a tapas place but I wouldn't really agree. Just get a meal and enjoy it!
The venue was spectacular, and I loved the updated feel while being in an old building. Very cool concept and the food was prepared flawlessly. The Sweet & Sour Crickets turned out to be a table favorite, and definitely a must try for anyone dining at Linger.
This was our first visit to Linger. My daughter is a recent Navy veteran who enjoyed experiencing different dishes in other parts of the world, and requested a restaurant using locally sourced foods and ethnic cuisine for her birthday dinner. This was perfect! She enjoyed the lamb kebobs and said it reminded her of the street food she loved in Bahrain. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the dishes we tried and will be back.
I am trying out some weird food restrictions. The server asked if we had any and I told them to her. I swear the whole kitchen was involved in making sure I didn't get the wrong food. It was impressive! I am super self-conscious about being high maintenance and they made sure I didn't feel bad about it.
Thank you very much!
If you are a foodie the dishes are lack luster and just not that great. The concept is thai fusion is more of confusion. Its just not well done if you're cultured in food BUT if you're a Denver local and not picky about food this is a great atmosphere with delicious drinks!
Love love love this place. Without a doubt, one of my favorites in Denver. I love the variety offered and have never had anything I didn't absolutely love. The masala dosa was out of this world. The pot stickers and cheese curds and bao buns were all mouth watering. When I have guests visit from out of state, this is where I take them. All food is sourced locally and there's something for everyone. Very laid back environment with sweet view of the city. Interesting cool ice cream type thing for desert haha. Highly recommend checking this spot out.
