Linger, the second concept behind Root Down's Chef/Owner Justin Cucci is located in Denver's Lower Highlands neighborhood. Linger’s vibrant menu reflects a broad farm-to-street sensibility with a spin on traditional ethnic eats. Design elements can be described as a purposeful contradiction featuring reclaimed boxcar floors, a brick ellipse, a Lite Brite bar top and infinity windows with incredible views into downtown Denver. The food, the service, the story combine to extract a feeling. Linger is like a mixtape, and we hope it connects. We’re not trying to reinvent food -- it’s simpler than that. We hope to elicit a feeling – like you get when you hear your favorite song.

New Year's Eve Special Menus & Offers
Linger will be offering a special New Year's Eve menu to ring in the New Year! Menu TBD
James was a phenomenal server. He was very patient with us and had great recommendations. Hands down the best lamb pita I’ve ever had and espresso martini. We apologize as well for staying past close - Due to the storm, we were having many issues trying to get an Uber home so I wanted to say thank you for being patient and we apologize!
See y’all again soon I hope
First time here! Food was delicious - I wish the brunch menu had a few more options though. The service was great and so were the drinks! I will definitely be back.
We went to Linger to celebrate my birthday and the server was so awesome! He gave the table free drinks to help us celebrate.
Amazing food, easy going atmosphere, and very friendly staff. Will be back for the lunch and dinner menus!!
It was a fun vibe! The only thing was there is a limited drink menu and also everything was extremely spicy. It you like tapas, craft drinks, and spicy food, this is your place!
Food is excellent but service is terrible. There is a time limit to allow for all reservations, but you feel pretty rushed when you don’t even get your drink order for 30 minutes. And good luck getting a refill.
I can typically roll with about anything, especially during Covid. The food was tasty, however the service was exceptionally underwhelming. We were never asked if we would like drink refills or more food. In fact, our server never came back to our table while we were there (exception being when we ordered dessert via someone else on the floor) and the vibe was “we are tired and really don’t want to earn your business - please leave as quickly as possible”. Tried them out for a special occasion for our daughter and won’t likely go back. If you’re considering checking them out, you might consider waiting a few months...and if you go now, don’t expect to be treated as you might hope. I’ve experienced amazing service at many other restaurants during Covid and have left with a full belly AND heart, happy to express gratitude. Not here. Not today. Maybe later?
The pork belly bun and lemongrass dumplings were great; as was the sangria.
Didn’t have a good table location. Also was too small of a table for 4 people.
All great food and the service was excellent
Truly, this was one of my all-time best dining experiences. From the moment we arrived, the hostesses were incredibly welcoming and helpful in finding us a table. From checking our temps to sharing and upholding COVID safety guidelines, they had us feeling as safe as we would've felt dining at home. Out of our party of 3, we had a gf-vegan (myself) and vegetarian. While their menu is already very supportive of those with special diets, our waitress went out of her way to make special recommendations and additional accommodations. And the food was nothing short of spectacular. We ordered several shared plates (edamame, dosa, sliders, satay tofu lettuce wraps) and they were all uniquely delicious. I wish I lived in Denver so I could become a regular at Linger. HIGHLY recommend!
I wouldn’t go back to Linger anytime soon. My food came out cold. Our server seemed more concerned about getting her other tables out of the restaurant instead of servicing patrons like me who were needing refills and had menu questions. They don’t play any music so you’re forced to listen to your neighboring table’s conversation. The food itself was just okay and the mimosas did the job. If you’d like to pay $20 on top of paying for a mediocre meal, then Linger is the place for you.
Great global small plates which are filling and SO tasty. I recommend the bao buns, wagyu sliders, and dessert was amazing. Definitely try some cocktails, they were delightful. Cute atmosphere & neighborhood.
Visited Linger for brunch on a Saturday morning around 10:30 am. We chose Linger since we've been here a few times in the past and had a blast for brunch! Service was definitely lacking and their COVID brunch menu has definitely gone downhill.
Check in to meet our friends was confusing- the hostess looked up my name (the res was under my name) and couldnt find it at first despite our two other friends already being seated under my res at the time. She then told us the table was at the bar and gave no further instruction or even offered to take us there.
Our server was quite short with us and seemed like she had no patience when taking our order. She completely forgot my sister's drink and didn't even apologize when we asked about it 10 minutes later. Continually had to ask for water refill... It's water so come on!! Linger does not have the devils on horseback or the eggs benedict now (which is a huggge shame!) I got the tamiles and they were okay- the filling was flavorful, but tasted like the corn shell had been boiled- resulting in a soggy tamale. My two other friends got the bfast dosa, which i'd enjoyed pre-covid but this time the curry was so strong it was barely edible.
Overall i'm saddened that service/flavor has gone downhill at Linger lately.. I hope they're able to make a comeback soon, but until then I'll be brunching elsewhere.
Still a great place to eat, even after the view of the city was obstructed by mid-rise multi-family structures. I would like to see them open their rooftop again sometime soon.
Favorite restaurant in Denver!!! Been going for year and just keep going back. Great ambiance/fun atmosphere and the best food. Could not recommend more!
I had Pai Thai. The peanuts were ground as a side instead of peanut sauce which was different. My friend had the salmon bowl and we shared a beet salad which was delicious as I love beets.
They provided a nice mousse dessert for my friends birthday it was very sweet of then
Great Birthday celebration at Linger! The drinks were amazing and food outstanding.
The food was incredible and it’s a interesting setting. The only downside was the limited beer selection.
Best food ever in Denver. Hands down!
So fantastic. Every single thing we ordered we loved and the service was really great to match. Would recommend to everyone visiting Denver.
I really enjoyed my birthday dinner at Linger. The ambiance and aesthetic of the restaurant are top notch which out being an overly pricey outing. The bar in the lounge is a treat for the eyes as well. You simply must try the bao buns, my favorite thing that I had on the menu.
I love Linger - it's a regular spot of mine for fun drinks & unique food choices. I have a lot of friends who eat Vegan/Vegetarian and I appreciate that they have so many dishes to choose from. This last time, we were seated up on the rooftop and unfortunately had really poor service. The waitress would disappear for long chunks of time and it took us nearly 45 from when we asked for the check to actually leave.
Always delicious, I am plant based and they do a great job with extraordinary veggie dishes.
Covid menu. Limited, server with massive attitude. The food was fine just like the last time I ate there... the servers attitude of being bothered we were there took it over the top.
I was disappointed in the very minimal brunch menu. I suppose I have myself to blame for that as I didn’t investigate. But still, why not serve a lunch menu along with the brunch items. As it was, the weekend noon menu was quite underwhelming — not up to Linger’s standards.
Place is a lot quieter because of COVID restrictions but everything else is still as good as ever. You can never go wrong with eating here.
Interesting menu choice, great for sharing and trying new items.
Food & drinks were delicious 😋
Good bao buns and good cocktails, what Else can I say
Lunch was great. Felt clean. Felt safe. Delicious food
Food was overpriced and cold. Would not go again. Only thing I’d recommend is the doughnuts and “coffee”
Great views, wonderful service, and delicious food. The cocktails were on point and the Devils on Horseback is a must try!
Went for our anniversary the food was great and they gave us a free dessert which was delicious!
Very impersonal service. The food all came out on top of each other. Disappointed with almost every dish. Bao Buns were good.
Atmosphere was beautiful.
Service is great. Food was tasty and with great drinks.
Fantastic menu and inside space! It’s a huge restaurant. The food was so fantastic!
It was amazing! Love the rooftop bar and service!
The host had no care to talk to me, and she completely blew me off when I started to explain that I just got engaged and was hoping for a nice table. No one else was in line are waiting on table. Plenty of open seats, but they seemed to busy to care of customers. I couldn't even get the words out before she rudely just said "you are sitting at the bar level."
The pictures showed nice leather chairs and interesting tables lining said bar area, however the whole floor was filled with crappy diner quality booths and cheap laminate tables. Open table advertised this like as a nice quality restaurant, but we got an Outback level quality of ambiance and seating.
The server was also very aloof and didn't bother to explain the menus. As I was trying to ask questions he leaned on another table so far over my should I couldn't see him and he couldn't hear me. We felt so unwelcomed. He got one drink order but not mine before just wandering off. One drink watered down with half melted ice before he came back and took my simple beer order. He didn't even realize he screwed up.
After 4 attempts at ordering an appetizer (apparently 1:30pm does not mean lunch or dinner menus) we finally got some bao buns. We were just treated so poorly, Chef Ramsey couldn't make a meal nice enough to overcome should crap quality in table and service.
Go here to get drunk with your friends so you don't care about the seats or service. Don't go here to enjoy your afternoon or hope for a nice lunch or dinner experience. I felt robbed.
