The food at Lineage comes from a place in the past – a place where everyone gathered around and shared together the food that was laid out in front of them – food that is from the heart and filled with memories. Dishes will pay homage to those who inspire Sheldon, and will celebrate his familial roots (or Lineage), as well as the vast bounty of the islands.
We ate the Hoppin Juan’s + cauliflower Katsu + the pork chop special + the Kimchee dip from the dim sum cart.
The Hoppin Juan’s and the Cauliflower Katsu stole the show for us. The Hoppin Juan’s is a bowl of oxtail, black eyed peas, green, rice, and we ordered with the bone marrow(which we highly recommend), it is a really great dish.
Cocktails were very tasty and creative.
Would definitely return.
Service was attentive and friendly.
Fabulous original and unique cuisine, warm, fun, attentive staff. Amazing
Great service. Food was amazing! So happy to see Filipino cuisine elevated in a way that’s accessible to every type of diner. Great job to the folks at Lineage.
Fantastic food and great service! They accommodated our group of 12 with no problems! The food and drinks were fantastic and unique. We had a few foodies in our group and they were impressed with the flavors and creativity. We let our server decide which dishes to try and he did an outstanding job with the variety and amount. Would highly recommend!
Exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed watching Chef Sheldon on both seasons of Top Chef. When we were planning a trip to Maui from Oʻahu, we knew we needed to make Lineage a priority on our itinerary. On Top Chef we loved how Chef Sheldon shared his moʻolelo through his food and his aloha for family and sense of place is definitely evident in the food we enjoyed that evening. Jordan and the rest of the waitstaff were very attentive to our needs. We also scored some kamaʻāina service and perks. We appreciate places that take care of their locals too! We hope to be able to visit again and try even more of the menu!
I would say, without hesitation, this is the best restaurant on the island.
A special anniversary dinner.
Made a birthday reservation last Friday. Seated us outside next to the bathrooms (arguably this is the worst table in the house) even though the restaurant was not terribly busy. Apps we started with were just ok. Drinks server accidentally spilled cocktails over some newly purchased LV stuff (luckily, nothing damaged just all the packaging sticky). This was the final straw for me. I could take any one of these things alone but together they made for a regrettable birthday experience. They did offer to comp the entire meal but I was over it by then (and TBH a free meal next to the bathroom doesn't sound like a great time). Should have went to the tried and true Monkeypod instead.
Fantastic food and drinks.
Overall...Yum! The adobo (turkey tail) was our favorite Dish and everything else was yummy as well.
Tasting menu was amazing. Loved sitting at the bar and conversing with the bartenders and watching all the great food come out! Definitely will return.
Our food and service were amazing. It was my first time at Lineage and I definitely want to go back.
The most amazing meal Ive ever eaten! Service was beyond excellent as well from all the employees. Can't wait to go again!
I would only recommend going to sit at the bar or after 8pm. They could not handle the number of parties overlapping between around 7 and 7:30
By far the best meal that we had on Maui. Christian was an incredible waiter, who gave very personal service and great tips for the road to Hana.
While it claims to be a Filipino place, they only have one authentic Filipino dish, which is the Crispy Pata. The rest of the dishes taste like it was made by someone from the mainland.
Adobo and Chow Fun were disasters. Adobo is supposed to be salty and sour. It was drowned in BBQ sauce. The chow fun was sweet and wet like a stew.
The cart items were delicious but overpriced by 100%. I have never paid for banchan in my life. Now I have.
This restaurant is an Asian fusion rather than a Filipino restaurant. It has Filipino, Korean, and Chinese influence. I couldn’t find a traditional Filipino restaurant on Maui. This is the only place that came up on my search.
Loved the Squid luau, oysters & noodles. Good cocktails. Tables are close together so no privacy.
Came back after it’s first opening a year ago. Food and drinks were great and service was fantastic.
Our best meal yet! Hoppin Juan is off the chart good! I am a foodie and southern food raised, this is amazing! In fact, we went back for a second night during our vacation last night to both order it again! I have never revisited a restaurant on a vacation until now! Drinks and service are awesome too!
Great cocktails and cuisine all around!
Great good, nice change for the island type food.
A bit too much with the dim sum cart but overall pleasantly surprised!
Great food and service. Interesting menu with great flavors.
Chef Sheldon is amazing.
We loved simply loved our Lineage experience. The generosity, the mix of flavors, sweet and savory, fermented. The unusual cocktails, the unique presentations together made our Lineage experience outstanding. Thank you Rob!!!!
food was okay. decor was great and beautiful. service was okay. waiter was ok.
Service was beyond excellent. Food was inventive and fantastic.
Enjoyed our dinner interesting food Hawaiian local ingredients good for big parties
Tables were very tight, primary reason for not giving 5 stars across the board.
Perfekt Last Evening on Maui with the most delicious Food and wonderful Service. Would Love to come back!
Food was outstanding and Mick was a great bartender. Only drawback was that the front of the house seemed disorganized and I’m not sure the reservation and seating process is efficient. We had reservations but ended up eating at the bar. That was fine for us but the hostess said we could have a drink and she would come back when she had a table. She never did. Not a big deal for us but kept me from giving 5 stars.
I was excited to go to Lineage, knowing it was a "Shelton" restaurant, from Top-Shelf. Unfortunately I found the restaurant "average". Everything was cooked well but boring. For the price, it was only "okay"
An awesome combination of cuisines with a very inventive twist on flavors and presentation. The first time the servers will educate the customer as to what to expect. Chef Sheldon and his crew provide an incredible experience. Oh and the food is awesome!
Delicious and different food. Great service in a relaxed environment. The half chicken, chilli water with chips, katsu, squid... all amazing. Would highly recommend!!
Great food, very innovative combination of Hawaiian tastes with other Asian cultures, Filipino, Korean, Japanese, etc. some of the most interesting and tasty food we have had. And we got to meet Chef Sheldon and congratulate him on his Top Chef run.
I mean, this is a must if you're in Maui. Chef Sheldon Simeon (of Top Chef fame) has really created a great modern homage to his roots. The menu is wonderfully inventive but still accessible and super tasty. His Hoppin' Juan grew on us as the meal progress, smoked meats were YUM off the bat and anywhere a vegetable showed up, it was picked-from-the-garden fresh. Highly recommending.
Great local spot. Interesting but outstanding food
Very unique offerings all were very tasty and flavorful. The service was very good and the staff very passionate about the work they do.
I would definitely recommend.
Excellent food! Turkey adobo was amazing!
