Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience here, particularly in the area of food quality. My wife ordered a small filet, medium. It came out well-done, and very dry. I ordered the NY strip, rare. It came out very overcooked, as well. Cutting into the center of the steak (at the waiter's request), I was able to discern a small portion that was - giving the benefit of the doubt - medium rare. The rest of the steak was cooked medium. At these very high prices, we expect near perfection on doneness, THE FIRST TIME. I was given a replacement steak, which arrived about the time that my wife finished her meal. The second attempt was correctly cooked. Both first and second steaks were tough and over-seasoned. When I questioned the waiter (after the fact) whether they served "grass-fed" beef, he answered, "both ways", which to me indicated that he didn't really know. I believe that the steak was from a grass-fed, animal, as it would be nearly impossible to secure grain-fed beef as tough and chewy. The server was also a bit too "businesslike" to our tastes - though his back-up was quite pleasant. The side (Brussels sprouts) were over-charred and bitter, as well. Overall, we expect far more from a restaurant in this price range.
REAL Dover Sole, from England. Wonderful!
My husband had Ribeye and said it was in the top 5 of all steaks he’s had, ever.
This was our third visit. Service was inattentive and the food was mediocre. It was rather disappointing as our previous experiences were very good. Maybe it was just an off night.
We just love this place! The lamb is to die for and the steaks are like butter;. Service is amazing too!
Lincoln hadt amazing service and food! I highly recommend the lamb... It is amazing!
Beautiful view, great menu and great cooking.
We all loved it
Always good service & food. I do wish they had a better upscale wine by the glass list. Champagnes & white wines especially. I also wish they had more fish options on the menu.
The chef, Joe, did a wonderful job with the drunken mushrooms. The steaks are cooked accurately and perfect crust atop the potatoes au gratin. I want to go back for round 2 this week.
Beautiful view of Camelback mountain, delicious food, great ambiance, wonderful service! We had an amazing evening.
What a disappointment. I confirmed my reservation the day before. The day of I went to see if I could get in early. The manager looked up my reservation and said yes. I said I would go to my room and return. I did. My reservation was for a booth. When I returned they had given all booths to others. Yet when another table became free and I asked for it I was told someone else had been able to confirm that specific table. On of this my main course, salmon was not hot.
The service was wonderful and the food was outstanding. Noise level was way to loud. Hard to have a conversation.
Attentive service and delicious, creative food. On Valentines Day while a hotel guest. Relaxing and enjoyable.
We were here for the first time for our 38th anniversary. The space is beautiful, the service impeccable and the food is fit for any self-proclaimed "foodie". It is now our favorite special occasion restaurant and we will recommend it frequently and we will be back and bring friends!
Everything was great
The ambience is not that of a quality, expensive restaurant. It looks more like cofee shop. Such good food needs a better atmosphere. The noise level was beyond human ability to tolerate. We could not have a conversation between two people and be understood. It, therefore, was not a returnable experience
Our server Heather was outstanding!
Very knowledgeable about all the food choices and helpful with wine choices, also.
Service was flawless.
We had an spectacular evening at the JW. The food was prepared exactly to my liking. The drinks were crafted exceptionally. The options were perfect for anyone seeking a high class dinning experience. It’s a must in Scottsdale.
Poor quality for your $. Had to wait 10 minutes for the host to show up at the front. We were seated at a nice and quiet booth. Emphasize quiet, because we rarely ever saw any wait staff. Wedge salad was water and the tomatoes plain sucked. They were not ripe. Corn and bacon soup came out cold. $60 bone in ribeye ordered med rare looked like a charcoal briquette. Summoned the manager, explained our disappointment, and left without eating. Nice that they comped the portion of the meal we ate and our Chianti which was a decent bottle.
The service was not good considering they are considered to be a high class restaurant. We ordered a split fried lobster salad and it was so spicy that we could not eat it and I like spicy food. We also ordered the Dover Sole. It was over cooked but we did not send it back. After we saw the Market Price I wish we would have. Plenty of great steak houses in the valley, leave this one alone.
I wouldn't say the noise level is energetic.. it is extremely loud and annoying! Everything else was great! The lamb was amazing!
The quality of the food, sadly, was not nearly commensurate with the price. Much better to have gone to Fleming’s or Ruth Chris—even though I try to avoid chains which is why u chose Lincoln. I’m a bit of a foodie. This did not even come close to measuring up.
As most foodies know you may have to avoid hotel restaurants but when it comes to the Lincoln Steakhouse and Bar 1936 that certainly does not apply. This was our first visit since it changed from its former occupant. It certainly will be the first of many visits. We started dinner with the chopped salad, all ingredients were farm fresh. What really made it shine were the popovers that we brought hot to the table. (Yes, this was an important carryover from the past restaurant) Along with my well made margarita, I could have stopped there. For our main entrees my wife had their flatiron steak and thoroughly enjoyed it. I opted for the rack of lamb, as recommended by our fantastic server Samanda. It was 8 chops in total, two racks of 4 chops. From the beginning I knew that I couldn't finish the lamb (it made for great leftovers tonight at home). The Colorado chops were excellently prepared and probably the best I have EVER eaten, with fresh garlic spread on the top of the racks.. One of our sides was the " fried stuffed" overloaded huge baked potato, different than your ordinary steakhouse but I would highly suggest trying it. We opted to share the profiteroles for desert, filled with a delicious custard. Be warned this dessert could be shared by 3-4. Aiding our server Samanda were very attentive staff. We were not rushed, the noise level was low which made for a nice evening out. Yes, give this fine steakhouse a try, you too will come back!
First class in both food and service.
I would highly recommend for that special occasion.
We were warmly greeted and seated with a magnificent view of Camelback Mountain by David. Our servers, both Matt and James were spot on. Friendly, offering knowledgeable suggestions, quick in service, yet not "hovering".
The setting was quiet enough to engage in private conversation without interruption of background noise, or the conversation of the table beside you. Which is always nice.
The food.. You have to try the lobster escargot appetizer, delicious. Steaks came out perfect, and I doubled down on my lobster fix with the garlic lobster baked potato, which was definitely shareable.
I can go on, but just going to end by saying everything was perfect!
One of the top 5 restaurants in Phoenix/Scottsdale. Great service, awesome food, wonderful ambience.
We came in last minute and had never been. We will definitely be back!! We had a wonderful meal and could not have been taken care of any better!
Nothing inherently wrong with our dinner. Difficult to pinpoint other than to say there wasn’t any real ambiance. Restaurant was very bright. Almost no one else was in the restaurant so the energy level was just very low, even though it was a Saturday night and all other restaurants in the area were packed. Food was good but flavors weren’t really all that interesting, especially given the price.
We ate dinner on New Year’s Day (not Eve), so it was a bit subdued, but the service and food were impeccable, the prices were not usurious (though it is a steak house, so not cheap), and the wine list was surprisingly reasonably priced with good selection of domestic wines and some steaks on French wines (but no red Burgundy except from the negociants). I would heartily recommend, and I would go back. Also, a very nice bar, reasonably priced cocktails and a great patio to view Camelback Mtn and the setting sun.
We love Lincoln. The room is beautiful, the food is delicious and the service and staff is great !
The service was excellent! My son said best steak he has had! Loved the meatballs!
I ate here on Christmas Day. Open Table still had their regular menu — Mararott had other plans. The daily fare was a $100 buffet. When I think $100 I think the Wynn in Vegas. There was a wide variety of dishes from breakfast to dinner. will say the king crab legs were fresh and delicious. However, this was itching compared to the Wynn. The real disappointment was the stroll from my table through the masses and narrow corridors to the buffet room. A 15 minute trip. By the time I negotiated my way back to the table food was cold. Ok for sushi not so good for the salmon. The server cut a piece of prime rib that was mostly fat and the food became cold because of the above.
One thing that was a little irritating.. Marriott added an 18% gratuity. Let’s see, I serve myself and it costs me 20 bucks.
The am sure the Lincoln is a great restaurant. Unfortunately, this was not the Lincoln fare or service on the holiday. Way overpriced buffet.
Our reservation was originally for 7 people and when I called to add an 8th person the person I talked to was helpful and agreeable. We arrived a little early and were seated immediately. My 5 year old granddaughter was pleased to be able to mark on her menu the items that she wanted. Carrot sticks and broccoli trees were both on her menu as were chicken strips. Granddaughter is usually a picky eater but apparently found the food to be just what she hoped and ate well. The rest of us had excellent steaks and side dishes. The sides and desserts were sharable so we were all able to have a variety. Service was excellent! The cost was reasonable, especially considering the variety of food we were all able to enjoy.
for a high end hotel...this restaurant is lacking in all respects. the physical property itself is sparse in atmosphere and ambiance. the food...while priced as you expect in a high end hotel restaurant...was of marginal quality. crab cakes were the quality of those purchased in the frozen food cooler at the supermarket. the vegetables were undercooked. steaks were mediocre. overall...just another tourist/conventioneer restaurant that doesn't need to worry about repeat customers and definitely one that locals should avoid! as a paradise valley resident i was embarrassed that i brought my out of town guests to the restaurant. we should have gone to the sanctuary/elements instead!
Excellent lobster escargot appetizer and gilets expertly cooked with rosemary compound butter.
Amazing service from Samanda - delicious food.
A gem of a restaurant. An excellent menu with a variety of choices that met the diverse needs/wants of our group. The service was impeccable. We look forward to going back.
The service was non-existent. Our waiter was absent most of the time. We went with two other couples. They both ordered the same expensive steak to split. When we were served, each half of one couple's steak was twice the size of the other couple's respective servings. When we asked the waiter to fix the discrepancy, he sort of shrugged and simply walked off. The price point is high and reflects a restaurant that excels on all levels. The Lincoln fell very far short of that. If the Lincoln were a stand alone restaurant and not supported by the Camelback Inn, the owners would have declared bankruptcy long ago.
We stayed at the Camelback Resort and Spa and were looking forward to a great meal. There were service problems...
The starter arrived before the wine
The salad arrived quickly after the starter was finished
Then we waited 75 minutes for the two filets to show up and the medium one was rare.
The noise level was so high - i could not hear my friend speak to me from across the table
They did take the underdone steak off the bill because it took so long - but i still would not recommend the restaurant... if you can't hear the people that are sitting directly across the table from you - it just does not make for a pleasant evening.
The food was pretty good but the service was so bad there is just no way we could recommend Lincoln Steakhouse. We spent $240 for 2, not including tip. Our drinks were not done correctly. At a high end restaurant, making a good martini and cosmo should be second nature. Unfortunately not here. It took over 30 mins to get our first drink and both were poorly made. Our salads then came out about 30 mins after ordering them and then the entrees came nearly 90 mins after ordering. Good food but not worth $240, especially when the same $240 could get you an outstanding dinner and experience at places like City Hall and Steak 44. My recommendation is to go to these other places and save your money by skipping Lincoln Steakhouse at the Camelback Inn.
This was me and my husband’s second time here. We had family in town so we wanted to bring them here because the food is amazing!! Needless to say they were very impressed!! I would recommend this restaurant and give it 5 stars!!
One of the best steaks I have ever had! So much flavor! Having multiple allergies, I requested for them to leave things off, and it was still very delicious and tender. Very unique menu as well with a lot of options. I would definitely eat here again!
