The cuisine at Lincoln Ristorante blends precise technique with the ingredients and comforting feel of an Italian kitchen. We rely on local farmers and purveyors along with weekly visits to our neighborhood Tucker Square Green Market, while importing the essential items (Parmigiano Reggiano, San Marzano tomatoes) from Italy that are irreplaceable.

We had to get up and ask for service on two occasions and look around and signal for service on every other. The food would arrive with a big flurry of two or three people delivering the dishes together, and then it would take 5 minutes to successfully flag someone down to bring the pepper.
They charged us about $6.50 per bottle of home- fizzed tap water, which well represents the value for money. We ordered wine by the glass, taking the managers recommendation, only to find it cost more than a glass of wine at the Mandarin Oriental bar. This on top of a price fixe for just 2 dishes... I’d sooner pay another $50 pp and get the full works at Per Se. Lincoln was no where close to its price tag.
Oh, and the man who sat for a drink at the open air table next to us, had his cell phone ring no less than 6 times as he managed his business during our meal. It’s an odd ambience to be forgotten next to the man with the garish cell phone ring, and then handed a bill that implies the highest of fine dining.
Lovely setting in Lincoln Center, service attentive and pleasant. Appetizers pretty good. We had two different pasta dishes which were overly rich and even greasy.
We enjoyed the location and view, but felt sick for hours after the meal
Lincoln is head and shoulders above the usual pre-theater affair. It's pricy, to be sure, but well worth it. There is currently a $75 per person prix fixe menu, with ample choices to prove almost any palate. The wine list is varied, and wines by the glass afford disparate diners the opportunity to indulge individually. The cuisine is uniformly excellent, so I am not inclined to recommend various dishes, but I was very fond of the diver scallops. I am a red wine person, regardless of my meal, and I enjoyed a glass of Barbera d'Alba, which went with pretty much everything on the table. Enjoy!
Excellent overall, with a magical setting, blissfully spacious and quiet seating, imaginatively tempting food options, and generous portions. A few quibbles: the accompaniments to the duck breast main course on the spring menu were uniformly delicious, but the duck itself was noticeably over-salted; I would have preferred some American options on the impressively extensive but Italian-only and aggressively priced wine list; and the Sunday-evening staff was attentive but not altogether polished (addressing our table by name, but with the wrong name; announcing the dishes presented, but forgetting the name of one of them, for example). Nothing that would prevent an eager return, but not quite top-tier either. I've had fully outstanding visits several times in the recent past.
We regret we hadn't discovered this place before. So lovely on a pleasant spring day, with lunch on the terrace in front of a grand Henry Moore sculpture and the reflecting pool. Couldn't be better for a before-the-show meal. Of course the restaurant has lost Jonathan Benno, who now offers superb dining at Benno's, but the quality still seems to be very good.
Taste was not thzt great but service are excellent
Despite arriving a t 6pm and telling the wait staff we had an 8pm curtain and the restaurant being half empty, our main course seemed to be forgotten. After several inquiries they arrived with barely enough time to eat before we left. Also, the waiter continually confused which guest ordered which dish (there were only two of us. Not a big deal but when you pay $76 for two courses and sorbet I expect better. The staff made no attempts to comp part of the meal.
I will not return.
I have never had just an okay experience. Each experience has been outstanding.
This is the perfect place for a business dinner meeting. The noise level allows for good conversation, while many others in the area have high ambient noise levels. It's my go to place for business related events. The food id good, service is very good and prices are where they need to be.
Traffic was terrible and we had called Lincoln to say we'd be late. They were pleasant on the phone and very pleasant when we arrived. The service was wonderful, from giving me a taste of an unfamiliar wine to ofering a delicious amuse bouche to being understanding about providing my husband with a delicious mixed green salad that was not on ht emenu and being understanding when the steak he was served wass terrible. That steak is why I'm not giving five stars to our evening. It really is inexcuable that a restaurant that charges so much for dinner would ever serve such an unattractive, tough piece of beef. In spite of his main course we really enjoyed our evening and will return, just order more carefully.
Setting is very nice and servers are very attentive. Food so-so. And VERY long wait for main course.
This was the first night of the new prix fixe of $76 for two courses plus a desert of gelato or sorbet. The food was outstanding and there was a dinner and a desert hors d'oeuvre, plus interesting bread and spread to make things more special. The portions were just the right size so you wouldn't feel stuffed and ordering extra bread was no problem (we took home what was left). The bill was $245 for two without alcohol drinks, but it did include a coke, sparkling water, a coffee and a tea and a 25% tip. So it was a pretty pricy dinner (well, for me). That said it is hard to place a value on the ambiance of a spacious and beautiful space, superb service and the convenience of being steps from your event at Lincoln Center (all the more so as it was raining that night). The concern on the part of the restaurant was that we allow enough time there to enjoy the experience so it was a leisurely, relaxing event and it really did feel special. I only wish the gelato serving (which came with a waffle type cookie) was bigger, maybe twice as big, because it was superb, but a little skimpy, I thought. In any case, I would definitely return to Lincoln Ristorante in the future.
Expensive but serene. We were there for Mother's Day, but usual excellent service. Not everything was great. Pastas are outstanding, desserts meh. Octopus salad served too cold. And sommelier, when asked for a wine in the $100 range to match our food, produced a list of 4 $160 bottles and 1 at $120. We picked one, but were not happy at the upsell. Our fault for not re-asking the question. And wine was just ok.
Very good food overall
Service was rushed. Desserts disappointing but appetizers and main course excellent
Excellent restaurant in a beautiful setting at Lincoln Center. Perfect for dinner before or after a performance at the Metropolitan Opera, David Geffen Hall, or a ballet or theatre event.
Everything is prepared on the premises, and brought to your table with many "extras" to delight the guests. I've never had a meal that was anything but perfectly prepared and then served with panache.
Well designed space with matching service and food to introduce energy and perfected food for a family meal. Over several visits I have come to appreciate exceptional old world service standards with modern decor and an inspired chefs take on meats, vegetables and starches.
Wonderful and different cuisine for me. Would go back.
Excellent option for a Sunday brunch. I went on mother's day and we enjoy a lot.
Lincoln is the perfect solution to dinner before a performance at Lincoln Center. The food is excellent and the service is professional and attentive. A duck breast was perfectly cooked and sauced and served on a bed of barley. The salmon was lovely and the pastas were excellent. Entire table very happy. Highly recommended. It's not a bargain, but it's well worth it.
This restaurant is convenient (right in Lincoln Center), has great service and ambience (we sat outside on a nice Saturday - lovely), but very expensive for what you get, so I rated it very low in value. Still, we'll probably go back in the future since it's so convenient and a great place to sit on a Sunny afternoon.
Abmsolutely first class! Great ambiance. Terrific service. Wonderful dinner. We'll be back!
If you are headed to any performance at
Lincoln Center, this is a wonderful place to dine!
Ambiance got noisy as it filled more. Quieter in back in booths.
Food uneven: beautiful presentation but too salty for some & not enough for another. No salt/ pepper on table.
Delayed in getting bill & had to ask more than once.
Location is lovely & convenient to events.
Extraordinary service and experience. There is a reason this is considered the best of the best. On the prix fixe menu our bill was comparable with other establishments in the area. A new favorite for us.
A beautiful space with attentive service but the quality of the food does not come close to justifying the high prices. The pastas are generally good but the steak was tough and inedible.
Going to the theater
The wait staff were very knowledgeable and the service was great. The food was excellent. Prepared fresh. Highly recommended.
It is the perfect restaurant to go before a performance at Lincoln Center. We had a helpful, lovely wait person and the whole staff was gracious. They made us feel welcome. My one problem is, as a person who has a nut allergy, too many of the selections had nuts. After saying that, there were still enough appealing and delicious selections. For a special dinner in a calming atmosphere Lincoln is the choice.
An outstanding restaurant and wonderful dining experience
We arrived late (due to longer than expected opera) and chef and wait staff were accommodating - gracious and wonderful!!
Astonishing gaps in the service. Food was ok, far from outstanding. Lovely space, quiet and serene—that’s the best part.
Always excellent- the food, the service... all amazing.
Overall I liked the restaurant, but my main course lamb dish was sub par. It was pretty tasteless, and I was told the chef agreed when it went back to the kitchen. When I brought this to the restaurant’s attention, they were very gracious. They took it off the bill and gave me a free dessert.
The beautiful cherry blossoms were so inviting. It seemed the perfect place to celebrate my 70th birthday. The asparagus salad was superb in both texture and taste. The tender tasty scallops were the best I have ever had. I would recommend a few more blood oranges. When the dessert came out, it was so airy and delightful, beautifully decorated with birthday wishes. Each member of the staff was so pleasant...a shout out to Chris! Next time, I want to try the grilled octopus!
Very welcoming and professional service ... everyone who served us was wonderful! Food was delicious! Restaurant was beautiful! We had a lovely brunch. Highly recommend!!!
Reception person disrespectful and had an attitude we had a reservation at 8 pm had to wait 20 minutes for table nowhere to sit since front section was closed up even though tables were all empty. Gave us a booth in front of kitchen, request an other booth show an empty booth that I wanted was told it is for 6 not 5 all the both are the same in that section and thru the restaurant.
Gave us an oval table and saw my booth going to a couple right in front of me.
Food took a long time to come even after drinks and wine
Will not go back and will dissuade my friends to go,too many options in the Lincoln center area for the price/value ratio.
Our favorite restaura
Absolutely fantastic experience one of our favorite restaurants in the world we would return in a heartbeat I had made clear that this was a special event and we were treated like royalty Terry Lee our server was truly one of the best service we've ever had and she was particularly attentive to my sister's tree nut allergies making sure that she reassured her that her food was safe to eat
We sat in one of the cosy booths that curl around you. There are little treats - an Amuse Bouche that was delicious, and bread with a lovely sesame dip. Servers are always right there to refill, and they serve and clear together - so courteous. It’s such an elegant and delightful expert. And because we had dinner at 7:30, after the theater crowd, it was quiet and not crowded.
Food was great - service was a little uneven as it took a while to get orders in and staff was professional though not friendly. Have been here a number of times and service was always better but might have been just an off night - food was excellent
