This is a very lovely contemporary room with an overpriced menu and underwhelming food. The staff was great, but the food???? Never Ever again. I had an entree that was supposed to be a seafood soup of sorts. The base was like a very unsatisfying salsa, with 2 shrimp and a 2" by 2" thin slice of sea bass with tiny tomatoes? I won't go into what my companions had, but suffice it to say, Never Again.

We honored our 6:00 reservation and were seated promptly. We waited 10 minutes for our waiter to appear. We placed our order and waited until 6:45 for our meal to be delivered. Our waiter was nowhere to be found in the interim. When our meal finally appeared, I questioned the wait time and was given no answer. When our waiter finally made another appearance after we were finished with our meal I mentioned that the ravioli and gnudi were very small portions and asked how long it would take to order additional food. Our waiter told us to order dessert. Upon doing that, he presented the check (you must remember that he appeared only at scant intervals), before the final dessert was served. Actually, our dessert arrived very shortly after the check, and my husband wanted to order an espresso. He was served the espresso and it was not until I asked for the check that it was eventually delivered. This was, overall, a very disappointing experience, especially since we were hosting a guest from out of town. We will not be dining here again.

As usual, the Lincoln Ristorante was excellent. However, there were a few recent recent changes that have made us reduce the rating we gave it from five to four stars. For example, there had always been a delicious focaccia or a slice of bread and olive oil placed on the table for diners before orders were taken. This time there was nothing on the table. Focaccia was available on the menu for $16, but not offering diners anything while they were deciding what to order seemed quite inhospitable to us. As long-standing patrons of the restaurant, we have seen a steady deterioration in the way diners have been treated, from the elimination of an amuse bouche and a tiny tre colore sweet at the end of the meal, in addition to the bread and oil at the beginning, to nothing at all. The niceties make a difference in the dining experience. Also, while the Lincoln used to serve more authentic Italian food, even featuring regional recipes at various times of the year, the latest menu includes some distinctly nouvelle additions. For example, the focaccia is served with a red sauce rather than olive oil, and the tiramisu is served like a parfait with t cookie on top. We still recommend the Lincoln for pre-theater dining, and it remains our go-to place when we attend performances there. But we're hoping that some of the recent changes will be reversed.

How the mighty have fallen. I am truly sorry to report the demise of one of my all-time favorite places in NYC. The quality of the food in the past mitigated their ridiculously outlandish wine prices, but unfortunately that seems to be all that's left of the venerable place. The chef appears to be suffering from long Covid or is such a haliophile as to place him far outside human experience. The salad was drowned in an ocean of salty dressing which was nearly inedible. Small cakes with mascarpone and caviar tasted only of salt. Untrimmed undercooked lamb loin was salted to the point the meat was unrecognizable. Mushrooms at least were edible though drowned in oil. Foccacio was greasy with little to recommend. It is my duty to prevent others from such an expensive torture of the palate and I will save my money for more worthy fare.

Such a wonderful experience. One of the prettiest restaurants around, and so convenient to all of Lincoln Center, but the food and service and the room itself made the experience worth the cost.

we arrived in plenty of time for our 7:30 curtain. Service was so slow and staff badly trained that when main course artived we had to actually inhale it. Never had time for coffee or maybe dessert. First , the very curt reception lady took us to a table for two. We did say 3 when we check in. Then as we passed another table I asked. “ how about that one”. She impolitely said NO! Not sorry or it’s reserved. Our drinks were wrong, asked for no vermouth. They had vermouth! Just a terrible evening. We dine at your restaurant at least 6 times a year. It’s never been this bad!
