We enjoyed the restaurant very much, but we felt that the menu offered a very limited array of choices. There was only one salad - a caesar salad that would not be my preference. There was only one fish dish. People really enjoyed the pasta dishes, but for someone who doesn't eat pasta and likes a simple chicken or fish option or even a vegetarian option, I didn't think there were enough choices. We will come back to the restaurant because we did enjoy the atmosphere and the food was well prepared, but menu was very limited.

This is a bare bones restaurant with a great big price tag. The table setting consisted of a stainless fork and knife and a cloth napkin, with a small Bernardaud candle in the center of the bare table. No placemat, no tablecloth, no complimentary bread. Very unappealing. It would have been fine had we been dining in a cafeteria, but we weren't. The dining room itself was lovely, though; very handsome and quiet, with well-spaced tables. I would guess that a single glass of wine, which was very expensive, even for the cheapest pour, was around 4 ounces. We ordered pastas, which were plonked down on the bare table in bowls, with no serving plate beneath them. My agnoletti was actually pretty good, my partner's tagliatelle very mediocre due to the quality of the sausage. I will say that the service was terrific. But that's about it. The prices are ridiculous for the kind of restaurant it is.

This is our go-to restaurant when we attend a performance at Lincoln Center, so during the season we eat here every two weeks or so. Naturally, the menu doesn't change that often, but that's fine with us since all the dishes are so delicious. For those going to a Lincoln Center performance soon, the tomato tarte is an exceptional appetizer and the agnolotti has just been updated, filled with polenta and in a delicious butter sauce. For vegetarians (not vegans) like me, the update is perfect.

I have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years and have experienced its ebb and flow. Friday's dinner was right in the middle. The ambiance is always classic New York chic! Great location and lots of gigantic windows to admire it. There is an open kitchen to boot. Our server, Vicente C. was attentive, professional, and accommodating. His service enhanced our dining experience. We had a Sancerre and A Big Easy Capizzi to accompany our mixed olives and potato croquetes topped with caviar. It was a strong start. Next, we had Hamachi Crudo and Bombolini & Speck. The Hamachi was delicious and better than the last time 2 weeks ago when I had it last. My grandson liked the Bombolini & Speck. We shared a Spaghetti Alla Chitarra, which was outstanding. He ordered Halibut, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned.I ordered the Wagyu Ribeye, which was overly seasoned and salty. The taste of steak was lost. Medium rare was rapidly heading toward medium as well. The creamed spinach accompanying the ribeye was so salty it was inedible. I tried a side order of snap peas. Once again, salt dominated what seemed to be an interesting recipe. The Americano was perfect. The Chocolate Tortino was luscious, and the Cheesecake was so much more than just a cheese cake. It was so good! Although surrounded by excellence, the food itself was uneven in its quality and execution. May I also suggest a broader, more eclectic menu? It has shrunk with the years. Perhaps, a special or two for the evening? Will I eat there again? Yes, I have since it opened.
