The cuisine at Lincoln Ristorante blends precise technique with the ingredients and comforting feel of an Italian kitchen. We rely on local farmers and purveyors along with weekly visits to our neighborhood Tucker Square Green Market, while importing the essential items (Parmigiano Reggiano, San Marzano tomatoes) from Italy that are irreplaceable.

Where shall I start? Our party of 5 braved awful weather to come for a wonderful family dinner/birthday celebration.. but what happened was utterly disappointing.. the waitress breezed by our table and never came back to take our drinks order which was finally taken by a manager after more than half an hour.. she then she breezed by to recite the one special at 50 miles an hour ( could not understand a thing she said). Then we could not get her attention to take our order.. and then the food!! My escarole salad was waterlogged and barely edible, all the dishes were way over salted, the $57 venison was gristly, the lobster risotto tasteless (except for salt), the fois gras terrine was ice cold, the veal tortelini was a joke, worse than bad Chinese dumplings .. I could go on.. the reservationist had made a big deal over the birthday but after we had had our desserts and were ready to leave and they had brought.. nothing(!) they came out with a plate of inedible cubes of something .. really insulting. We have been to the Lincoln so many times.. what happened?. I miss Chef Benno .. I was relieved of a huge amount of money like an unsuspecting tourist which I am not.. for very little pleasure. Plus I overtipped the waitress who wasn’t worth a penny. And os, as for the famed nearing bar, mine are superior
Waiter was delightful. Sommelier had perfect recommendations for our dinner pairing. Exceptional service all around. We were seated in a nice cozy table by the window, facing the reflection pool. Felt private and quiet.
Excellent as ever. Fine food, great service, good Italian wine fairly priced. Brava.
We were in a hurry because of a curtain so had only drinks and a main course. Everything was done smoothly and we never felt in a rush despite our deadline. Our window table had a wonderful view of the sculpture pool. The quiet and elegant ambience made it pleaaant for conversation and the food was delicious.
Excellent food and drink. Experimented with the Negroni bar. Yum. We had Octopus. Pheasant. Venison. Salmon. And, of course, chocolate. In our Top Five meals of all time. Server was also excellent!!!
Food Del IOU’s! Olivier the waiter was very attentive made sure we were on time for play.
The service and the ambience were impeccable.
The food was good. I thought the starters were much better than the entrées.
Excellent food and location..... prices are ridiculous though. Great service was almost fast until dessert
Perfect for pre-opera or any performance at Lincoln Center. The service is outstanding. There is a three course pre fix menu 4-7.
Very professional, attentive, friendly service. Delicious high-quality food...best housemade focaccia bread ever! topped w/ onions caramelized in 12-yr balsamic & fried sage (sooo good!)! All dishes were fresh & well-prepared...trout crudo, ravioli, cod, & Amish chicken. Great mezcal negroni & wines by the glass. Older/pre-concert Lincoln Center crowd.
Went here for my husbands 40th birthday before a show. They forgot to seat us and when reminded forgot again. they don't serve food at the bar, my husband got the wrong meal and they forgot to bring our side dish. All this while the place was not even busy which made it more annoying. Not that great if you want to spend that type of money.
Never disappoints! What a great restaurant for the neighborhood. Attentive service, excellent food, beautiful restaurant. Always recommend to friends.
Wonderful birthday dinner!! We will be back. Great service, lovely ambiance and especially excellent food!
Service was impeccable.
Food was delicious.
A wonderful prelude to the Opera -Aida.
We got the prefix and it turned out to be a lot more expensive than we thought. We can live with that. Food was good. We should have read the fine print better maybe. But the more annoying aspect was they lost my scarf and we almost missed the opera waiting for the coats to comeback. And when I say almost missed i mean they were closing the doors as we arrived. They never called back about the scarf. Front of house needs work!
It was my husband's birthday and we had lunch before a 2:00 concert next door. The waiters were terrific. The young lady at the check in desk gracious and lovely. We would go again.
We had a wonderful dinner, great food, great presentation as well as great service.
Extremely accommodating to allergens
Best service possible
What a lovely place and the food was superb. We went before a performance at Lincoln Center. The staff were so welcoming and warm. The prix fixe menu was varied, well priced (for NY) and portions excellent. The wine list was interesting. It is a softly lighted, elegant interior and seeing all the lights and buildings of Lincoln Center around you was just beautiful. I had a pasta with duck ragu and then a beautifully prepared cod with small clams. Everyone loved their meal. Perfect!!!
We loved the food; because it was late, we didn't order too much, yet had a lot left over -- in other words, portions are generous. For antipasti, the pasta e fagioli was done brilliantly, and the burrata was also delicious. I then had the handrolled spinach pasta with duck ragu -- excellent -- and my husband went with two sides instead of a main course: the roasted mushrooms and the brussel sprouts. Everything was hot and unusually good and tasty and the service was friendly without being hovering. We also found a well-priced ($55) and aromatic Italian red wine from Puglia (a Negroamaro) on their extensive list. It's pricey (we had a birthday coupon so it was a bit less for us) but worth it in the end.
Allover very good to excellent. A few lapses in service (requested glass of wine was forgotten, also under filled wine glass).
My very good cod dish was under seasoned. I asked to hold onto the pepper grinder until I was able to bring the food to my taste. Request denied - only one rather worn out looking pepper grinder for the whole restaurant??? Also, had to ask twice for salt which arrived in large crystals, very pretty but unusable on this dish. I did manage to get enough pepper and the food was good.
trout crudo was delicious.
expensive but convenient location.
Visiting NYC from Australia we were looking for a pre opera dining option. From start to finish this was a memorable experience. We had a short timeframe (1 hour 15 mins) for our meal which the staff had checked as we took our table. The timing of the service was perfect. An aperitif, breads, then a starter and main course from the prix fixe menu were perfectly spaced. We did not feel rushed, and had the check right on 7.15pm, in time for a short walk to the Metropolitan Opera House. The only disappointment - no time to try dessert! An intimate dining atmosphere accompanied by perfectly cooked and presented food. The starter of spinach pasta with duck Bolognese was outstanding, rich but perfectly balanced flavours. The chosen main courses of king salmon and Atlantic cod were cooked with so light a touch every mouthful a delight. We took a recommendation on a wine pairing which also proved excellent. Highly recommended for any occasion.
We have gone to Lincoln a number of times and until this Sunday were always very satisfied. This last visit was very disappointing. For example, two of us ordered the scallops which were overcooked, dry and tasteless. Other items varied widely in quality. I have real concerns about going there again but will probably give it one more try
My husband, daughter and I were there for a pre/show lunch. Very convenient location, lovely ambiance, great service. Food was ok.
Would definitely return when seeing a show.
We have eaten here several times; with the service, food, and ambiance being outstanding. I started with the insalata di scarole, a nice sized salad which was crisp, very fresh, and tasty. My husband had the ravioli bigusto with fresh cheese and pasta that was NOT over cooked. 😁😁 For the main course I had the wild king salmon which I was very happy with because so many other places serve the farmed variety which is lacking in Omega3s. My husband had the roasted loin of venison which was so delicious and tender in a tasty sauce. The desserts are very good too.
Also, everyone there is friendly, yet professional.
As always, a lovely relaxed meal.
A brilliant dinner, outstanding service and offerings. Glorious pre dinner treats sent by chef, both very delicious and beautiful. Flavors melded truly as a gourmet dinner. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is my salmon was very lightly cooked, when I reported to waitress, manager came over, apologized and granted me a free cocktail. Quite pricey, but overall a very special pre-theatre dinner.
The wonderful thing about eating at LINCOLN is that there are no surprises the food is always excellent well presented and service is great. A wonderful meal had the venison which was so well done and my wife the salmon the same. Thanks again for a very enjoyable food experience
My wife and I had a per-theater dinner. We have known and loved this restaurant for years now and will readily recommend it to others. The food was excellent as always. There’s one thing, however, about the wine list that is a bit odd. I have noticed over the last several years that most of the Italian by-the-glass wines are ‘Indicazione’ (simple table wine) rather than D.O.C. Yet, customers are charged the same amount of money per glass they would pay for D.O.C. wines in most NYC restaurants. I find it a bit unfair to restaurant customers.
Excellent as always, it's a must when in the area for the food, wine and service.
Our second visit in a week to this restaurant. As always, the food is excellent, and the service very attentive, never intrusive. The prix fixe lunch menu is a very good option with an antipasto and on secundo dish. The wine list is very good.
I had the prefix lunch. It was fabulous. While waiting for my food I was serviced 5 spicy sticks (only ate 1) and 4 good size squares of foccacia (I had to limit myself to 2 as they were too yummy). The appetizer was a crab salad on Boston lettuce - perfect presentation and taste. My entree was the ravioli stuffed with kale & cheese in a lemon butter sauce - delicious and quite filling. The service was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is located in a lovely spot where you have lovely views of Lincoln Center. Would definitely dine there again.
I have loved this beautiful restaurant since their opening. With recent change of chefs after star Jonathan Benno left I was worried it would not be as good. However food quality, service, and experience was constant and excellent. Wonderful NYC dining experience that ticks all the boxes including a dramatic view of Lincoln Center and Thé Henry Moore sculpture and reflecting pool. We will be back on our next trip.
Food was sensational. I will 100% be back!
a truly delightful meal in a stunning venue with excellent service and a clean, simple, brilliant menu. you can enjoy a conversation and the wine pairings are perfect. a special note for opera goers: within limits (we arrived at 4, curtain at 6) the staff will pull off the amazing feat of making you feel like you're not rushing, yet still ensuring you don't miss your curtain! i had pasta with white truffles (an extra completely worth it, by the way) which was one of the best dishes i've ever tasted.
Food was definitely delicious and service was exceptional. Even if the menu was on the pricer side, everything is made with care and attention to detail. If looking for a romantic night out or just an after work dinner, this I'd definitely the place to go
The service and food were exquisite.
As always great food and nice service.
We were well taken care of for or pre-opera performance and celebration of our 5oth anniversary. Or request for a nice table was nicely taken care of.
Nice spot for a gourmet dinner before the opera or ballet or symphony at Lincoln Center.
