The cuisine at Lincoln Ristorante blends precise technique with the ingredients and comforting feel of an Italian kitchen. We rely on local farmers and purveyors along with weekly visits to our neighborhood Tucker Square Green Market, while importing the essential items (Parmigiano Reggiano, San Marzano tomatoes) from Italy that are irreplaceable.

We arrived at 1 on a Sunday afternoon and told the waiter that we had a 3 o’clock opera and needed to leave the restaurant by 2:45. The appetizers came quickly, but the main course was still not served at 2:15 despite reminding our waiter several times about our schedule. When the food was served, I was too aware of the time to enjoy it. This is unacceptable service for a restaurant on the Lincoln Center campus.
Staff executed perfectly in every way—engaging when encouraged and invisible when appropriate. Food is fabulously Italian and match with a well chosen wine list. This was our second experience, and so far, incredible and consistent!
Our experience was amazing!
Food was delicious and we were treated like royalty. The staff was stellar and so attentive.
It was quiet for easy conversation and beautiful view onto Lincoln Center courtyard. I highly recommend this restaurant unconditionally.
We had wonderful time every time we went there,
Excellent food and service. Will definitely return.
Fabulous place to celebrate time with family. Amazing and inventive food and wonderful service. We all had a wonderful time from grandparent to grandchildren. We sat at a round table and it was quiet enough so that we could all share in conversation. It's pricey (but worth it!) for a memorable evening.
Excellent food, attentive engaging wait staff, quiet for talking, convenient to opera - perfect for what I wanted
Most of the food was good but one dish was not (scallops) and another was just ok (short ribs). Service was attentive but very cold almost unfriendly. At these prices and given my experience not sure I will return.
Love the changes in the menu for the season. Super service, food and drink. Always a wonderful dining experience. Best restaurant in the neighborhood by far (and I am a tough critic).
Highly recommended, this was my first time visit and I am a bit embarrassed to say I got a little lost finding the place. Now that I know piece a' cake.
Just an awesome experience.
I will be back soon....
Great place to go before Opera or any other event.
Beautiful place with very special dishes complemented with outstanding service.
Veal was delicious and Scallops beautifully cooked , perfect paring with fine Italian wine.
Amazing food and service!
Everything in the meal was exquisite. Foccacia with whipped ricotta, arancini(gratis). Appetizers: Sardinian stuffed pasta & veal ricotta meatballs were divine. The chicken breast & sirloin steak were excellent too.
THE SERVICE AND FOOD WAS VERY GOOD. WE ENJOY COMING TO LINCOLN.
Excellent food and service
Wonderful food. Charming and attentive service. Tables well spaced
The Lincoln Ristorante is a good place to bring friends from out of town. Our Italian guests enjoyed it immensely. There was a slight mix-up on one of the food orders, and the servers were unsure who ordered which plate--which explains why the service was very good & not outstanding. Still, the attitude of the waiter and servers was excellent. The head waiter was very helpful in choosing foods to suit allergies.
I had to ask the matre dis to turn down the music; she did & all was well. Otherwise, it would have been too loud.
Perfect for pre- or post-Lincoln Center events. Good wine list. Crab meat pasta spicier than expected.
A great food experience and service is impeccable.
Lincoln has plummeted in quality. Once our favorite, if expensive, restaurant, Lincoln now seems to be in a death spiral: first cutting back its hours (closing at 9 PM at a location in the midst of multiple Lincoln Center theaters with evening performances), then converting to a pricey prix fixe menu with an overpriced wine list, and finally basically chasing away customers with some mediocre to bad food and poor service. Pastas in general continue to be good; the duck bolognese sauce was delicious. But the speekytoe crab pasta was way too spicy - more TexMex than Italian - and inedible. On a very limited menu at 7:30 PM, the restaurant was already out of scallops. The dourade smelled unpleasantly fishy, not fresh. Service was uneven at best. After announcing that he would introduce the menu to us, the waiter just dropped the menus on the table and was distracted away to another table. An order of their celebrated melanzane appetizer (at additional cost) arrived after the main (secondi) course was already on the table. (There also was a huge gap in time between when the first course was cleared, and that main course arrived.) I had reminded the restaurant 3 times that it was my wife's birthday: first, when making the OpenTable reservation, 2nd by calling the restaurant and speaking to the receptionist an hour before we arrived, and 3rd by telling the waiter while we were ordering. Yet, the dessert arrived without a candle or birthday wish/acknowledgement. There were, in fact, multiple waiters. One suggested she would wrap up our uneaten food to take home, but after we agreed, the food just disappeared until we asked about it while exiting the restaurant. And the bill -- oh, what a bill -- outrageous for this mediocre (at best) experience.
Excellent food, good service and peaceful atmosphere
The food was amazing and the staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The open kitchen visible to the diners made for an entertaining experience and we watched the food being prepared. Pricey, but well worth it.
Just a delicious and delightful dinner before the ballet
With no occasion in mind, we decided to have dinner here. In our past visits, we usually sat at the bar, which we enjoyed. We did celebrate our anniversary there a few years ago. Our visit now was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences. The food was incredible. We were not rushed and wanted time between courses, which we received. Service was top notch. Wine choices were wonderful. Sitting next to one another in a booth was the best. Will look forward to another visit to Lincoln!
Perfect for a catch-up with a good friend I hadn’t seen in a decade.
Everything was exceptional, except the rigidity of the menu. Price fixe only. $72.00 per person (two courses) plus tax, etc. Only go there knowing this in advance.
Lovely, solicitous service, though a little assertive with suggestions for dishes with upcharges to the prix fixe menu and recommendations for more expensive wine pairings. Otherwise great. Delicious, honest food made with good ingredients and not overly fussy and intellectual. Portions surprisingly ample.
Doesn’t need a review - just walk in. Great place!
The food is good and the service is wonderful. This time we had a selection of their ice cream and sorbets for dessert since it was my birthday. The flavors were to die for. Fantastic.
The biggest problem was our server. I was inclined to give the service 5 stars; I was greeted in a superb manner - a terrific set up to an evening. The bar staff was excellent, as were all of the people in between who showed us to our table, etc. Our server had an attitude which was regrettable because it negatively impacted the rest of the experience. Particularly when describing how the menu worked and about wine selection. (I thought I was paying.) ... until the check arrived. Then there was a big smile. I really wish we had a better experience at the table.
The meal itself was delicious. We ordered two pastas and two main dishes. I won’t go into detail, but my penne with ragú was a delight. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the accompaniment offered a perfect balance. The two veal medallions were cooked to perfection. They were incredibly tender and delicately flavored. Dessert was not as strong. Our server neglected to tell us the serving vessel was right out of the oven and very hot.
I strongly recommend this place because I doubt someone like our server would last very long in such a fine establishment.
Probably the best restaurant on the UWS, and without question the best near Lincoln Center. Treat yourself!
The staff at Lincoln is superb. They are so organized accommodating and they remember you from visit to visit. Which table you like and even certain dietary restrictions pertaining to your needs. I highly recommend this restaurant for an evening where you are able to really relax and allow others to take care of you.
Lincoln Ristorante offers poorly prepared, unimaginative food at outrageous prices. Pretentious and obsequious best describe the setting and the service. The place is a tourist trap ripoff.
Attentive and helpful service. Delicious menu . A perfect pre-opera venue.
70th birthday dinner. We had the lobster salad, tagliatini, and veal tenderloin. Excellent attentive service. Great recommendation from sommelier.
Great place for after or before Opera, Concert etc.
I am on crutches and arrived 15 seconds after the wait time expired because the ballet was later than expected. He told me he had given away our table and I should have called. Perhaps, but I’m juggling my handbag, a boot for my fractured foot and crutches. I asked him what time it was when we were speaking and it was 5:46.
I would never go back to the restaurant but in spite of him a very expensive meal was well served and fairly good.
Hi Kathy, I apologize for the experience that you had when you arrived. It is our goal to deliver exceptional service for our guests, so we appreciate you taking the time to bring this to our attention. We would like the opportunity to speak to you directly. I will message you privately with our contact information, should you be interested in speaking with us. Thank you again for your time.
A beautiful restaurant in an unique location, the architectural design is strking and the large windows look out on to Lincoln Center. The restaurant is large, spacious, with a glass enclosed kitchen, and quiet enough to have a conversation with your guests. The food is excellent as is the wine list. My only complaint was that only a prix fixe menu was available, which was not clear at the time I made the reservation. According to our waiter, only prix fixe meals are served before and after theater hours. I noticed a number of other patrons seemed surprised by this as well. It is a lovely restaurant; one should just come prepared to spend a considerable amount for the prix fixe and wine/drinks. I would go again.
