About this restaurant

  • Charming
  • Good for groups
  • Great for brunch
Founded in 2011 our seasonal menu features comfort food with a twist. LINCOLN pays tribute to one of the greatest US Presidents, with nods to many of his favorite foods including our signature chicken pot pie & another star on the menu, our kale salad. The menu is focused but varietal.
Our cocktails are truly one-of-a-kind. Our barkeeps have created one of the city’s thoughtful bar programs highlighted by infused bourbons and DC's first moonshine-list served in antique-style copper cups. Our patio is open all year-round, offering a relaxed, urban landscape. Don't miss our butcher cut NY Strip or the city's best Mac & Cheese. LINCOLN is the right place for your next private event with many options for private dining from 10 to 200.
Original paintings & distinctive interior design by homegrown artist, Maggie O’Neill. LINCOLN is your destination for Lunch, happy hour, dinner or brunch. We are open Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Easter & Mother's Day for your special celebration.

Lincoln in DC offers a mixed dining experience, with some patrons praising the "great food," "amazing service," and vibrant atmosphere. Standout menu items include the smoked salmon grilled cheese and zucchini chips. However, service inconsistencies and occasional food quality issues suggest room for improvement. They have a brunch menu, but at 1:30, the chef responsible for preparing the eggs Benedict wasn’t available 🤨. It was VERY quiet, which perhaps predicated the absence from the kitchen. All the food was okay, but nothing stood out: broccolini scramble (plain), brussels sprouts (needed acid), and “jumbo” crab deviled eggs (only a sprinkle of crab). The truffle curl in the chicken corn chowder was the most exciting moment of the meal. Nevertheless, the service was warm, the restaurant had maintained its style and beauty since I last visited years ago. I assume it’s still a staple for happy hour and will keep this place on my list of after-work havens.

Don’t think it was worth the Easter meal being $72 a person. It was mediocre food but wasn’t too terrible.

From the food to the service, my brunch at Lincoln was thoroughly disappointing - perhaps foreshadowed by the fact that I got a weekend reservation with just 15 minutes’ notice. We were seated promptly, but it took over 10 minutes to be greeted, and another 10 before our order was taken. Despite several attempts to flag him down, our server stood idly against the wall, ignoring us. Other diners nearby eventually got up and left due to similar delays. Our table ordered 4 drinks, 3 entrees, and an appetizer. When I asked to sub one side for another, the server initially said it would be an upcharge, then changed his mind after I pointed out both were listed at the same price. It's unclear whether he actually checked. Our drinks didn’t arrive until after the food, despite other tables getting theirs promptly from a different server. One juice came mislabeled; when we sent it back, the server claimed the first one was correct and said he knew because “he tasted it.” Whether he brought the same glass back after sipping it is still a mystery. No one drank it. The food runner didn’t speak English, which wouldn’t have been an issue if our server had been present to assist. Instead, she held the plates high, asking who got what in a language we couldn’t understand. The food was bad. Grits were coarse stone-ground, without warning on the menu. Shrimp tasted boiled and unseasoned. The steak was 25% gristle, served without a steak knife—probably because they knew it wasn’t quality. Also, it should’ve been “Steak & Egg,” since only one egg was served. The sautéed spinach was tasty, as was my Bloody Mary (though the huge celery stalk made it hard to drink). To top it off, the server checked his tip in front of me - something I’d never do when I worked in restaurants. Rude and unprofessional. Save your time and money - there are far better brunch spots in D.C.

The waiter was kind and quickly took our order. The food was absolutely delicious and came out in a timely manner. It took a little while to get our check. I would recommend leaving yourself at least an hour to eat. I highly recommend!

The food was just ok but the service--and more specifically the bartender--was excellent. Tabitha (I think that was her name) mentioned that it was her first day, but nothing about her service and level of attentiveness, felt new or inexperienced. She made sure our drinks were filled, she had great conversation. My wife and I enjoyed our experience, and even though we would have liked the food to have been a bit better, we are more than willing to come back and try again.

The service here was great in a way — our server was extremely friendly and helpful. However, the place felt understaffed. And the food was ok but not as good as the price would indicate. Overall just a so so experience. Not sure I would be interested in returning.
