Celebrated our annual holiday lunch... my friends loved the food and great service. We ordered the empanada plate, lengua, chicharrones pollo, arroz con mariscos, and three desserts. Enjoyed all of them.
Delicious and packed as always. Great place to have some authentic fresh foods, a couple drinks, and visit with friends or go on a date! 4th time here. Their “sour” drinks are yummy and strong so they sneak up on you. I had a pisco sour tonight. Soooo good! And they have a variety of ceviches that are amazing and a ‘must have’ when dining here. I crave their ceviche and have literally gone here for just that. But all the foods I’ve tried here are ALWAYS super delish and fresh. Highly recommend!
Had a great anniversary dinner here! The food was wonderful and unique. The chicken was delightful, moist and flavorful. Try the ceviches of which there are several that are quite good with a nice mix of citrus, aji and other peppers. The staff is attentive and friendly. The only dig from us is that the building has all hard surfaces that make it very noisy, so much so that it was mildly difficult to converse just over the table. All in all, a lovely time and one that we will repeat.
After work celebration with a large group. Service was great! The food was delicious. Drink and spirit selection was fantastic!
My husband and I enjoyed our dinner here. It was a great first experience! Food was delicious and service is good! We’ll be back again for sure!
We were seated 30 minutes past our reservation. We are not new customers to this location, but this time it reminded me why I barely patronize this location. The noise level was extreme, the arroz side order was undercooked, and when I asked to get a new one, I was charged for an “extra side order,” as the waiter did not hear nor understood the issue, so definitely a barrier in customer service.
My husband and I had a reservation for 7:45 on a Saturday night. 7:45 came and went and we continued to wait for a table until 8:30. During this time we were not offered an apology from staff for the delay, or even a drink! We were made to feel annoying when we asked for updates on our table. At 8:30 (45 min after our reservation) we were offered a seat on the patio- we specifically indicated on our reservation that we did not want to sit outside since it was very chilly and my husband was fighting a cold. When we denied the outdoor table wait staff became angry and short. They sat us directly next to the front door which was very cold. We asked to wait for a different, warmer table (after already waiting almost an hour past our res at the point). When we asked this, the host became argumentative and aggressive. She basically told us the table was the best she could do. At this point we decided to leave and go somewhere else. We witnessed several other people leave upset as well for the same reason. Overall very poor customer service.
The food is delicious , BUT the noise level is quite high. I’ve dined here twice and intend to return.
Amazing food. Service was so so. Felt very rushed. We had our appetizer for a minute and our main course arrived. Server never asked about second drink. Actually he never came back until I waved him over.
Used Open Table gift card which we’d had for sometime. Got questioned (polite and nice) about where we got it. This was because it did not have a chip. He took just odd the way we were questioned. Just odd.
We’ve been here 3 or 4 times and seems to get worse each visit.
Really good food!!!
This was our second time at Limon Rotisserie, and it did not disappoint. The food is simply delicious, fresh, and better than expected. The noise level, however, is deafening. We sat at a table for two, and we had to yell at one another to be heard. It's very crowded and very loud. Too bad because the food is great.
Worst service from the bartender Jose. I was there last night at 6:45pm and it was busy but not crazy and the bartender didn't even even greet us after sitting there for 5 minutes. He just asked us what we wanted to drink. I told him a pisco sour and non alcoholic mijito.. his response???? Rolled his eyes, smirked and rudely said ok. Gave us our drinks and never bothered checking on us until I asked him for the check! I’m appalled by the attitude and disappointment that we were not treated with dignity and respect!
It was a crazy Friday night in Walnut Creek and parking was a nightmare. Once we were parked, we didn't have to wait too long for our reserved table. They asked us to move to accommodate a larger group. We hadn't received our drinks yet so it was OK. We had 2 appetizers and 4 entrees for a group of 4. Delicious. Would easily dine again - perhaps outside on a nice evening.
They were off the mark the night we were there. It took us about 10 minutes to be acknowledged. You could tell the server was a little stressed. It appeared like one more server would have made a difference. We were about half way into our salad when my dates entree arrived. So it sat for about 10 minutes which was about the time my entree arrived. The real rub is when I had made note on Open Table that it was my wife’s birthday. So just to make sure about an hour before I called and asked what they do for birthdays and she said if you order a dessert they stick a candle on it. Whoppy do. So what happens the bread pudding arrives with no candle. And one final note. The wine selection is fair at best and prices are on the high side. We probably won’t be back. DC
This was a wonderful place. I wish it had more natural lighting for the lunch.
Food was pretty good as a satellite site of the original in SF.
Food is excellent!!! The ceviche was awesome and so was the chicken
I lobe Limon! The vibe and the food is always awesome! I took my mom for her bday and we ordered a few appetizers before dinner. They brought everything out all at once. We didn’t get to enjoy the appetizers first before the meal. The servers were rushing to bring it out for some reason. We didn’t even have enough room on our table for all of the plates!! I made a comment about it to the server and she said they always being the chicken out fast. It wasn’t only the chicken though .. it was everything. By the time we ate our appetizers our food was cold! Super disappointing!
Service was slow , but food came out way too fast, which means it was sitting around because chicken was very dry. Probably won’t return.
I love this place! Service is always great and the food even better!!!
Fabulous food and great value.
Good if you're in the area, but not a destination. There are three better Peruvian restaurants in the EBay, foodwise. Limon stands out for its service - waitress Delane was OUTSTANDING - but it is noisy and our hit ratio was only 50%. What we liked, we liked very much: the chicken empanada (we tried all of them), octopus ceviche (generous!), and short rib with huaycatay/cilantro sauce. Servings were sized on the generous but not overwhelming side - the ceviche was enough for 2, the short rib satisfying my DH. If you're a coffee lover do try the coffee gelato; it's barely sweet and wonderful, like a perfect (but frozen) latte. For the rest however, you can probably do better elsewhere. Like most restaurants, even in the SFBA, you have to pick your way through the menu.
Loved the food. Very, very noisy, but I’d definitely go back and maybe try and sit outside, as they have heaters.
Wine by the glass is overpriced I thought.
We've been many times to Limon - would have to say the service on this visit wasn't up to what we normally encounter - Felt our server was preoccupied. Two of the four entrees arrived about 5 minutes before the other ones - made for an uncomfortable time. When we two of the four had finished, and two of us were still eating, the server wanted to take our plates away as well. The food was very good, but given all the options for restaurants, I will give Limon one more shot.
I tried Limon when they opened in Walnut creek but it wasn’t that good back then. But i tried again few months ago and i loved it. The food is delicious, fair prices and amazing service. As a Peruvian it’s hard to find delicious good peruvian food in the Bay area, limon is the best for me.
Good food as always
Thank you for dining with us!
Had a 7:30 PM reservation and was not even seated until almost 8:10... disappointing response from hostess staff as to how long it would be. They should have offered to buy us a round of drinks in my opinion while we hung out waiting.
I ordered the Safron Rice with mixed seafood - big mistake.. there was hardly any fish in it.
I have been here 3 times probably will not come back based on my last Saturday experience. Noise level is also so loud difficult to have any sort of conversation.
Bob, Thank you for dining with us and for taking the time to share your experience with us. While we try our very best to set all guests for their reservation time - occasionally we do find there is a small wait time that we cannot avoid that is out of our hands. I'm sorry that you experienced one of those rare occasions. We strive to limit our wait times for guests and to create a fun dining experience for our guests. I will be sure to share that feedback with our kitchen team.
I noted on my reservation that it was a birthday dinner. Usually they bring out a special treat, which they didn’t this time and the server brought us the check without asking if we wanted desert.
Thank you for dining with us! I will be sure to share this feedback with our service team. I apologize for that experience you had when dining with us.
I prefer outside seating the inside is too noisy for my taste making it difficult to engage in conversation
Thank you for dining with us!
Alexa was a very nice and attentive server! She made our experience very pleasant for my son’s birthday. Noise level was high due to the cathedral ceiling!
Thank you for dining with us! Will be sure to share this feedback with Alexa's manager!
Waiter was inattentive. Other waiter got what we needed chips for ceviche , water. This was a birthday but not acknowledged pisco sour was best part. Noise on even an early Sunday still impossible .
Great food and service. Greta cocktails although a little pricey overall great
Thank you for dining with us!
This was one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in the Bay Area. Let me start by saying the wait can be long. Although we made reservations we still had to wait about 15-20 minutes for a table to clear but it was way better than just dropping in and having to wait longer. I will say if you are okay with eating at the bar the bar area was available and that is where we sat and had a drink before our table was ready. Once seated we already knew what we wanted to order. A pitcher of sangria and the ceviche trio to start. Both were excellent. The sangria was not as strong as expected but was great for a girls night out. I had the Lomo Saltado and it was delicious. The meat was sooooooo tender. My friends had the Chicharron de pollo and the Pescado a lo macho. Both were delicious as well! I taste tested. Overall everything was great! I will be coming back soon. Also this was my second visit. The first time I sat at the bar and had the rotisserie chicken. This time I was more adventurous and had a better time.
Thank you for your kind words and for dining with us at Limon! We look forward to serving you hopefully, again soon!
Food was so delicious. Will go back again for dinner.
Thank you for dining with us!
It is way too noisy in there. I couldn't hear my date who was right across from me. It took 10 minutes before our waiter came to our table. Once we ordered, food was quick.
Thank you for dining with us and for sharing your feedback. I will be bringing this directly to our management team in hopes we can find ways to improve this for your future visits!
Great service! Awesome margaritas and empanadas!!!
Thank you for dining with us! We appreciate your kind words!
We came for date night and had made reservations. We arrived 15 mins early and they were able to accommodate us, which was nice! It was pretty loud and busy. We were seated upstairs which was a smaller dining area but still loud from the noise downstairs. There was only one waiter for about 10 tables ,which made service a little slow. I had the Lomo Saltado and my fiancé had the Paella, both were good, but the lomo saltado was a little salty and we also had a pitcher of margarita and that was super strong and had too much ice so we would get a bunch of ice in or glass and not much of the margarita. I will probably come back to try other dishes and drinks.
Regina, Thank you for dining with us and for taking the time to share your experience with us!
This was my 4th visit to Limon. Everything I have had has been delicious. They roast chicken like none other, melts in your mouth. I love their Sangria too. It's a high energy place and a bit noisy but there is also outdoor seating which is quiet.
Carol, Thank you for dining with us and for sharing your experience with us! We are thrilled to see you enjoyed your visit and look forward to serving you again soon!
Delicious food! We just wish they had fresh plantains on the menu- it's Peruvian, so that's the biggest missing ingredient for me! The Lomo Saltado is delish. Our server forgot to bring our yucca fries, so that was a bummer. We come to Limon for the excellent food and drinks. It is quite loud and noisy inside the restaurant. And a bit squished and packed.
Thank you for dining with us and for taking the time to share your experience with us! I will be sure to share your feedback with our kitchen team.
The food here was excellent. I would love to go back again. I got the roasted chicken and picked the green beans and tacu tacu for my two sides. All of it was great, and the quarter portion of the chicken was perfect for one person. My husband got the lomo saltado and said that was also very good. I got a maracuya sour to drink, which was so good.
The food came really fast, the service was prompt, it was all good except for one thing - as we were winding down our meal, and we had been there for less than an hour at that point, I had at least 3 different wait staff, including our server, come up and ask me if I was done or if they could take my plate, I swear four or five times within the span of like 15 minutes. I started to feel like I needed a tennis racket or something to bat them away. It became annoying and felt like they wanted us to leave, and that's why I mention that we hadn't even been there that long. If they had just let us relax a little and let me finish my meal before asking multiple times if I was done, they would've gotten a better tip. It was stressful. Other than that, I would still go back for the food though.
Thank you for dining with us and for taking the time to share your experience with us! I will share your experience and feedback with our service team - I do apologize you felt rushed when dining with us. That is definitely not what we want for our customers and assure you I'll speak with our team to be sure that does not happen again in the future.
