With its location across from the Buell Theater, this is the most convenient place to go for lunch before a matinee at the theater.
Kitchen was struggling...butternut soup was bland, disappointing. Ordered scallops...ok, but no color on plate. Nothing special. Disappointing.
A perfect place for a pre-theater meal. They food was quite good, but unfortunately, the service was bumbling and a bit slow. In addition, the hard plastic chairs were very uncomfortable. There are better restaurants within walking distance of the DPAC.
Has become my favorite place to dine before a show
Very busy atmosphere leaves you feeling like you are dining in Grand Central Station.
Service was really slow. Filet mingon was ordered medium rare but served well done (ruined). The server noticed but we didn't have time to wait for another one. No discount was offered for this mistake and one of us left hungry as a result - it was so tough he couldn't finish it. The red snapper was almost burnt on top and very dry and the warm vinegar sauce was overpowering to everything else on the plate. Portions are smaller, which is okay if the quality is there but it just wasn't up to par. The prices seem very high for what you get! I won't go back anytime soon. Kevin Taylor's at the opera house is pricier but the food and service are worth it.
Our visit was incredible from start to finish. Our request to get a seat near the windows was accommodated. Kim was an incredible server that gave us plenty of time to enjoy our drinks, appetizers and meals. Delicious food
We totally enjoyed are evening at your restaurant. Our waiter was great and very attentive. The food was extremely tasty and prepared how we ordered. Thank You.
Perfect for a light dinner before a show or concert.
Food was excellent but service was slow throughout the meal. Long wait to take order, long wait between salads and main course, long wait after we finished our meal. Sat down at 6:30 and was asked if we wanted dessert at 7:50, not possible with an 8:00 show to make.
Everything was good except my ribeye was tough. The flavor was nice, but a little tough. The tomoato soup was superb.
Read several bad reviews but was more than pleasantly surprised by the wait staff who inquired about show time we were seeing, then paced our service to match it. Exceptional customer service and knowledgeable, food was very good and price was about what I expected. Management made the rounds several times and were very friendly. My martini was very good and the bar woman even made a minor requested adjustment for me on my second one.
Great for groups and for two. The service is always friendly and attentive no matter how many there are in the group.
Of course the food is always good and we have tried most of the menu. It is the perfect restaurant to visit when doing anything at the DCPA! Get in park, eat, and see the play, etc., and you don't have to park again and it is good to get parked for the theatre early anyway!
Poor service, under staffed, over priced food. Would not go back.
Great place to sit and enjoy the pre show entrance time... good food, nice environment and nice attentive staff.
Very nice. Pleasant staff, great food
This above average restaurant is super convenient for diners who will go on to a show at the Denver Performing Arts center in which it is located. They try very hard to be a fine dining restaurant and hit that goal about as often as they miss it in their dishes.
Always a wonderful experience!
The food at the Limelight was very good but the service was extremely poor. While the waitress was polite she definitely had no sense of urgency. Our food was delivered late and we had finished the entree before she delivered the wine. We had to change from a bottle to 2 glasses in order to make it to the show on time. I would love to recommend this restaurant to our friends because we frequent the Buell theater but could not with clear conscience.
I have eaten at Limelight before and found it very good. I was not so impressed this time. The food was ok, but the attention to detail was missing. I also thought it was over priced on drinks. $4.00 for a cup of tea! My choices were Celestial Seasonings and for caffeine--Lipton! Coffee in a small cup was $3.00, and according to my friend, nothing special. We asked the server to put designated amounts on each credit card, including tip from each of us. He did not tell us until he came back with the credit slips that he could not put tips on the cards. I had the amount on my card that I designated, but my friend had less than half on hers. The entire tip than had to go on her card. It was a bit confusing.
Convenient if you are attending a show at the Denver Center for Performing Arts.
Excellent when you're attending a show at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Excellent all the way around. Plan on an early dinner (as we did last Friday) and parking is no problem. With five shows currently running, the parking garage fills up and leaves you to scramble for a parking space.
Very nice, conventient and pleasant place to have dinner before the theater.
My hisband, daughter, and grand-daughter enjoyed a great pre-Nutcracker dinner at the Limelight Lounge. The staff were super. The food was great and arrived quickly. We plan to retrun again soon.
Great if you are going to the theater, opera, or ballet. My sea bass was good, my husbands steak was overdone.
absolutely the perfect place for a quality dinner before theatre. reasonably priced, excellent food, gracious service. we wouldn't miss it on theatre nights!
Our waitress was in such a hurry she didn't offer or point out a wine list. She only served 3 out of the four of us wine. We had to ask for it to be brought before the meal. It was such a bother we didn't point out she had missed one diner. When it was time to see if we were satisfied, she asked as she sped past our table without waiting for our answer. Not everyone who dines there is in such a hurry that they don't need or want service. She knew our show started later and did not need to treat us as 'fast food' customers. Thank goodness the food made up for the service.
As my husband put it, Kevin Taylor should be embarrassed to have his name associated with this restaurant. They were out of more than half of the items on their lunch menu. Which according to our waitress is pretty common on a Sunday. Whoever oders the food supplies for the restaurant isn't very good at their job. Unfortunately what they did have left was mediocre. My husband ordered the lamb gyro plate and had to ask if it was roast beef. The lamb wasn't good at all and tasted nothing like most lamb in gyros. The only thing the restaurant had going for it was the location to the theatre. We won't be wasting our money at this restaurant ever again.
It seems that the quality of their food has declined with the prices. Are you now actually getting what you paid for?? In addition, we had to keep asking for silverware, glasses, etc. Wouldn't you expect to receive a steak knife either before or at the time your steak is delivered??
We have been to Limelight several times - we enjoy the food and the atmosphere; the decor is lovely, and the staff always friendly & welcoming. On this particular visit, however, the staff seemed harried & rushed - they were extremely busy, and service wasn't quite up to par. Nevertheless, the food is excellent, attractively presented, and we will go back.
Great if you are going to the Buell theater! Great people watching.
Solid "A". The proximity to the theater brought us in, but the service and good food will bring us back. We were seated right away and the wait staff was wonderful. Thank you Patrick.
We have eaten at the Kevin Taylor restaurants and always been very satisfied in the past. We have even eaten at the Limelight many times before and were happy with the food quality and service. However, this past dinning experience was not very good. We got there at 6pm and they were already out of some of the entrees, and the service was real slow. My wife's meal was ok, but mine was horrible. I got the scallops, and they were exceptionally salty, and the sauce appeared to be substituted from what was described on menu. Since they were running out of things, I am not sure if they decided to substitute the sauce. Also, the entre only came with 3 scallops, and I felt this was very skimpy considering the price of the entre.
For going to show, this location is perfect. Paying for the convenience and ambiance more than for the quality of the food.
Good, great, wonderful, we love everyone that works there. Very special, delicious, tasty, even thrilling!
My favorite restaurant!
Went for brunch before the ballet.
Food was very emdiocre. Chicken sandwich was overcooked, dry, cold. French fries were also not hot. My daughter got mac and cheese = penne with a bland sauce, other daughter had an overcooked burger. Service was slow.
would not go back.
Great stop pre-show! Great menu selection! Service could have been a bit more friendly, but we didn't let that bother us too much.
The food was very good. However, one in our party received a dinner that could have been warmer. In addition, the soups ordered were both lukewarm, not hot.
This is a great location and an excellent choice for pre-theater dining.
Excellent food, prices and the location is great for attending productions at the DCPA. You are always greeted with a welcoming smile and seated immediately.
We had a nice experience at Limelight. It was very convenient to the theater, which was especially helpful on a chilly night. Our waiter was nice, but a bit slow in attentiveness. He complained about how "crazy" things were going to get - almost trying to give an excuse for slow service. The decor and seating are basic, not as elegant as the food. Dinner averaged $80/person, including appetizers, à la carte soup/salads, dessert and wine. The food was very good. Our complements to the chef.
