We had pork tenderloin, which was the toughest and most tasteless piece of meat we've ever eaten. Also, the lava cake was frozen as were the berries that were on it. The cake was so unenjoyable my wife didn't eat it. We'll never go back.

I cannot recommend this restaurant. Obviously, it's so very convenient to the Buell so we were excited to dine there. Checked their website and the four of us were excited to try their crab bisque. When we arrived, the bisque was no longer on the menu and the scallops were $2 more than posted on their website. The very nice wait person forgot to give us our appetizer plate so we received it some time after we reminded her of our order. Two of us ordered the scallops which consisted of 3 scallops for $30.00 (the price of each dinner) that were in no way exceptional. It was edible, but that's all I can say about it. I wanted to make these comments to them, but I couldn't find anything on their website that would allow me to contact them other a general phone number. I am happy that open table will provide me the opportunity to communicate directly with Limelight. With so many exceptional restaurants in the area, it will be difficult to return.

Portions way too small and overpriced. The food was of good quality and the service was very good considering they were very busy before a show at the Buell

Convince is the major reason for the Limelight. I have been there before and it was always okay. On Friday, March 2 they were busy but there were tables empty.
Our food was served after others who came in after us. We both ordered salmon which was over cooked and the other items on the plate were at best room temperature. I suspect it was ready quite a bit before our being served. I only took a few bites, it was just tooooo dry.

Great place to eat before shows at DCPA. Very convenient, and staff accommodates and understands need to get out on time for shows. Lemon Buccatini is good, and Short Ribs are good, too! Nice, but limited dinner and cocktail menu. Can get busy before a show, and everyone is on a time crunch, so meal comes out quickly, but you might not see your server for a while! We eat here every time we have show tickets and would recommend it!

Theater night. Your chef has made some impressive changes; the food was a delight. Unfortunately, the poor, slow, and inattentive service detracted from the meal. On several occasions , one of us had to leave the table to track down our server.

Our server was attentive and good. He did his best to take care of us. The downfall was the kitchen. The wedge salad should have been titled "What" salad? There was nothing on the plate except for some smeared dressing, a few bacon bits and 5 leaves of lettuce, my rabbit would starve it was that small......and at a big price $10. The Chicken red bean soup literally had broth and two pieces of carrots in it. Had to send that back and after asking if the chicken and beans were pureed in the soup or what? The soup returned to our table with chicken, beans , carrots and fixins in it. The salmon was seasoned perfectly but overcooked and dry.
But as I said our server was excellent and saved the dinner from being a complete disaster. I would recommend this restaurant, we did dine before the Hamilton play and it was busy. I 'd give it a second chance but if the salad portion comes out the same way....... "Forget About It!"

7:30 Hamilton preceded by 5:30 reservations at Limelight. Limelight provides just what you want only steps (like 10) from the Buell Theater. A decent meal, served efficiently with good value wines and beers, full bar, decent atmosphere. A bottle of wine with heavy hors d'oeuvres at the sidewalk table before Frozen was awesome as we watched the costumed kids AND adults coming to the Buell.

We have been going to this restaurant for several years now since we got our DCPA Subscriber tickets and normally it is a very good place to eat before a show with fast, friendly service, but this time around it was a total mess. Our service was EXTREMELY slow even though people were coming in after us and getting their food almost immediately and in addition they tried to seat us where we specifically requested not to be seated. The manager did listen to our concerns and took 25% off the bill as well as a round of drinks, but still I would be very hesitant to go back there for a while.

I would not go again! The menu that everyone had in the dining room reflected lower prices than we were charged. The staff knew about the problem however did not proactively tell customers. The only way we knew to check the bill is because an older couple sitting next to us were arguing with the waiter. The staff did adjust our bill, however shame on them for how they handled it!

Have dined here pre-theatre many times, but was disappointed this time. Quality of food and service was fine, but there were really no light lunch choices in the current menu; even the bread was uninteresting. May not return unless there are some menu changes.

The staff was very friendly, but a bit overloaded and not very timely to respond to a special request, like added sauce or a second glass of wine. We had asked our waitress to watch the time for us so we would not be late, but she did not, but fortunately we used our phones to make sure. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience and the food was really good, with lots of GF options for me. We really appreciated the "farm-to-table" source and use of many organic ingredients.

Two of us dining prior to ballet. It was a slow leisurely meal. Our wait person was attentive, however both our entreees were over cooked and under seasoned. There are many good restaurants in the area and the Limelight is a last resort.

Very disappointed. We ordered salmon (med. rare) and pork tenderloin. The dishes came out together after a 25 min wait. The salmon was well done but edible. The pork dishe was cold.
They did return it to the kitchen and brought it back about 10 minutes later, it was hot in some places and barely warm in others. The pork was dry and somewhat tough. The fruit topping was ice cold.
In short, not someplace I would return to.
Service was very slow, but our server was very pleasant, I do t think the delays were her fault.
In their defense, they did comp my dinner,

Our food arrived lukewarm. Hubby's meal was not prepared well. Pork was chewy. Mine was very good (rib). This was a pre-show dinner and even though we allowed plenty of time the slow service made us rush dessert and coffee. Hoping for better.

Location is great for the venues at DCPA. Food is good except for the Pork Tenderloin. Ambiance is good. However, we have received lousy service every time we have eaten there. You need to make sure you have at least two to two and half hours to spend for dinner before any show. This restaurant is terribly under staffed. I feel so sorry for the servers. We will never eat here again.

Limelight obviously is extremely conveniently located for theatre goers, which we appreciate. We especially enjoyed the rich, fresh tasting tomato soup, a fresh wedge salad, and delectable creme brulee. We were disappointed that the charcuterie plate was not on the menu as we enjoy combining a few light dishes to share rather than choosing entrees. Burned bacon on the salad was really the only mistake. Service was friendly and efficient, and the quiet atmosphere is a plus.

Our food took over an hour to arrive. We ordered two different kinds of soup both were barely luke warm. Our entrees took over an hour to arrive. When they did arrive my medium rare beef tenderloin was almost well done. Both entrees were cold, and the polenta on my husbands meal was refrigerator cold. We only had a few minutes to wolf down cold, and not prepared how we ordered it food as we almost missed the curtain time for our theater tickets. We made our dinner reservation two hours before curtain time to allow ourselves time to enjoy a special Valentines dinner before going to the theater. We were given a $50 gift card to come back to give them another chance. The gift card will almost not quite pay for dinner for two. Honestly it was so terrible we don’t want to risk ever going back even with the $50 gift card.

We were headed to the show Stomp and were so excited to be able to finally got to go there.

The hostess was tremendous and very welcoming.

We didn't see a waitress for 20 minutes. We rushed to get our drinks. We asked for tree quickest items on the menu so that we wouldn't be late: scallops, salads and bisque soup.

Unfortunately, the bisque was watery and not flavored, we never got the crispy garlic crouton that it comes with and the salads were the last to come out.

The table that sat after us and ordered after us received their salads and drinks first.

The service was ok but not really attentive and were almost late to the show even after giving ourselves an hour and fifteen minutes and taking the waitresses suggestions on quick items to make sure we'd leave ar 7:15

Next time, I'll recommend Oceannaire or even Sam's #3 instead. Which is disappointing. We go to Buell allot and thus would've been the best place.

This is the second time in the past couple months that I've eaten at Limelight before a show. The food is delicious and the atmosphere pleasant. The staff are always outgoing and looking to make the dining experience a great one. While the food was very late coming out to our table making us have to hurry in order to make our show on time (we had 5:45 reservations and a 7:30 show) the staff were very apologetic and gave us a take away dessert bag of homemade cookies as a compensation. Even with this delay (not experienced the first time) I would still return to Limelight. It's an awesome place to dine for any occasion.
