Limelight Supper Club & Lounge Ratings and Reviews
My friend and I met for lunch before seeing A Christmas Carol. The restaurant was so clean, the staff very friendly and accommodating. We had originally reserved 1115a, but found that too early to eat. The staff changed our reservation with no problem and we were seated at 1145a. The menu was really interesting (brunch menu) and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and drinks. Thank you so much for a grand time, we will be back.
I made reservations several weeks prior to date. We were seated in the room by the bar. I was very disappointed we were not seated in the main dining room. The food was fine but nothing special as I expected for a Kevin Taylor restaurant. I will stick to having drinks here before he theater and have dinner elsewhere.
Sad night at the Limelight. It took a long time over 10 minutes for anyone to address our table. She finally arrived and took our beverage order. They didn’t arrive for 20 minutes. She dropped the beverages off then left. She finally returned to take our dinner order. When the first course of soup and beef tartar arrived it had been 45 min from our original arrival time. The tomato soup was fine. The beef tartar was very plain hardly any seasoning and lacked of any garnish. Our meals of pork tenderloins were delivered which were dry and overdone. The side dishes were a poor quality and also lacked flavor. I ordered the bread pudding which was served late but only in time for me to sample as we had to leave for our theater reservations do most of it remained on the table. This restaurant has had a good reputation in the past but this visit was poor at best.
This is great downtown Denver eating spot! Nice and easy location, convenient parking, not to mention great food and our wait person who was fantastic. And, only about 50 feet from the entrance to the Buell theatre. My wife and I loved it and had a perfect evening.
There were four of us and we all felt our food was just average. Nothing special. Same with the drinks and service. Very disappointing. Location to The Buell is excellent. Wish the food was better. Prices were high for poor food. Presentation was good but taste was not.
We LOVE eating at the Limelight before a show. The food and service are almost always great! But there always seems to be an issue with getting our check in a timely manner after we are more than ready to leave. It often seems like after our server drops off dessert, we don’t see them again for far too long. Could just be the pre-show timing? But you’d think you’d be ready to get us up and out. This is a consistent area for improvement that we’ve noticed at your fine establishment.
We had a delicious early dinner here before seeing a play. We split a lightly dressed Caesar salad that arrived on a wood plank. The scallops with corn succotash and green beans were delicious. My husband enjoyed the tuna steak. Service was good and we had plenty of time to get to the theater right outside the door. We made reservations for our next night at the theater as we left.
This is the place to have a gracious lunch before an opera or theater at the DCPA for sure. This particular Sunday they were short handed but managed to do an excellent job nonetheless. New chef needs to learn to keep the burgers thick for a medium rare order and not smash them down into pancakes. :-)
Pork chop was raw in the middle and sent it back...came back still raw. Chicken under cooked as well. We arrived 1-1/2 hour before the show so there was no time pressure. Aside from that service was good, waitress very friendly. Overall..food was poor.
The thing about the Limelight is that we go there as a pre theater place to eat because it is pretty good and the most convenient place, but we go so often that I just wish they had more choices. Even a sandwich menu or more sharable things. I would like a really good burger or Monte Cristo or better salad for an option. Even a couple pasta dishes would help. The new one is hohum. It is always fine. We do seem to have good service. They just need to change it up a bit.
Terrible service. We had a show to go to and made early reservations with an hour and a half for dinner. We watched tables (small and large) that came in 30-40 min after us get served. My guess is that our server forgot to put in our order. Chicken came out barely cooked, and we were nearly late for curtain call with no apology or explanation. This will be a last for us.
I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing everything was, from food to location to wine choices, to ambiance. We were there for my guys birthday and he said it was the best Ahi he has ever had. A definite score for both of us. I'd recommend this, especially if you're catching a show. It's so convenient. WE will definitely dine there again.
I hadn't been to Limelight for many years. In the past, it was a sort of hit-and-miss place, somewhat disjointed and inconsistent. Physical improvements and redecoration have made it much more comfortable. The menu was simple but large enough for choices. The service was terrific. The brunch menu on Sunday was perfect for our 2 p.m. matinee at the Buell.
I requested vegan, gluten-free meals for our party of four when I made our online reservation. Not only were our meals delicious, but our server asked what time we needed to get to our concert and made sure we were on time. This is an attractive restaurant that serves excellent food and gives the diners an excellent overall experience.
I make it a habit to reserve a table at the Limelight prior to attending a show at DCPA. The atmosphere is pleasant and quiet, and the wait staff is polished and professional. The menu selections are limited to a few entrees, a few appetizers, a few salads, so that the meal can be served promptly and patrons can get to the theaters in a timely yet relaxed manner.
As theater patrons we informed our server about our showtime and we assured we had plenty of time. Our drinks and bread came out on a timely manner, but 40 minutes after we placed our order we had to tell the hostess we hadn’t received our order. Finally our server brought the appetizer and explained her tablet’s orders weren’t received on the kitchen. That appetizer was all we had time to eat.
