Limelight Supper Club & Lounge
We cater to serving Dinner prior to evening performances, as well as a Social Brunch Buffet prior to matinee performances, it is perhaps most popular for a quick intermission cocktail.
Join us on Friday and Saturdays for post service serving small bites, desserts, and cocktails after the shows.
Grab a drink and bring it straight to your seats (for Buell, Ellie, and Boettcher guests)
Unfortunately this was nothing like past experiences. It turned out to be a $22/person buffe before we saw Phantom of the Opera. The food was mediocre and cold. There were very few choices and no fresh fruit. I also ordered a Russian mule and the waitress corrected me and said it was called a Russian in a somewhat snippy way. (It can be called either). The drink ended up being horrible. I did not enjoy this meal at all and felt they were taking advantage of people grabbing a bite before the show.
Lunch before seeing Phantom of the Opera at the Buell
I was disappointed because it was a buffet! I like to be waited on and have a menu to order from! I didn't think the food was very good and not very hot! I didn't like the selection.......... Please go back to menu before a program on Sundays.
The wait staff was excellent!
Changed the menu from traditional appetizer/main dishes to bringing out all items in any order when ready. Ours happened to be brought out all at the same time and not paced throughout the meal. Felt very rushed to turn over the table before a show. Food was cold as if it was sitting in the back ready to go when ordered. Unfortunately, the quality has gone down tremendously and I would prefer bringing a packed sandwich instead of returning. Hopefully, others feel the same and they can reverse the huge mistake of this new menu and service style.
Service was slow. Food was very good. The salmoon and short ribs were excellent. Value was very good for a place so close to the venue. We will return. We do not like the predominance of share items.
We were very disappointed with our dining experience at Limelight. Their menu is now geared to small plates and appetizers. It is not creative in any way. I feel the offerings are inappropriate for a nice dinner before the symphony or theater. The food was flat and without much taste. Our waitress was very pleasant and efficient. An overall rating for Limelight is generous.
I would only recommend it as a convenient place to eat to get to the theatre on time.
The new tapas style menu is ho-hum.
Like for convenience to theater, but they changed their menu...I wasn’t a fan of it. For the prices and the menu change, wasn’t worth it. We will go somewhere else next time.
The new version of Limelight is such a disappointment. The new concept of bringing plates out as they are done is ridiculous - impossible to have a lovely dinner. After years and years of patronage, I will not return.
The staff are great. The food is delicious --were we to have eaten it hot. The new "family-style" service is terrible. Food comes out of the kitchens one dish at a time. We were a party of 4 and my 93 year old mother waited nearly 15 minutes after we were all served before she received her meal. On the table, we had salads and appetizers piled-up, entrees were constantly being maneuvered to fit.
Terrible dining experience for a pre-theatre meal. What are they thinking?
The Limelight is a favorite of ours for DCPA events (season ticket holders for over 10 years). We go to the Limelight about a 7-8 times a year. We will NOT be back until the service changes to a more traditional one, where the entire table gets their meals at once.
As usual dining at Limelight is a delight. The environment is always warm and inviting. The food is always delicious and creative. The convenience of Limelight's location to the performances at the DCPA is perfect.
The only good points about Limelight were its location, convenient to the Buell Theater, and our waiter (Ryan), who tried to make our visit pleasant. Tapas style food is not what we enjoy eating and there were very few options for traditional American fare. The prices were very high, especially for what we got, with the bill for only two of us over $100. While our waiter was kind, professional, helpful and timed our dinner well, the others on the wait staff were rushing around the tables banging into us and creating a very rushed and chaotic atmosphere. We most likely will never eat at Limelight again and will certainly share our disappointing experience with our friends.
Limelight is very convenient as far as location. The service was very good, our server was attentive without being over-the-top. I would return, but only for the above two comments. The food was rather bland. Next time, I will only order a starter.
If you are going to the theatre you cannot beat the location. The food, was very good, the service was great, the price was fair, what else could you ask for? By the way we enjoyed the new menu.
We have been to Limelight Supper Club many times before and this was the first time with the new "tapas-style" menu. We found the evening very confusing as we ordered what we thought were our appetizers, which were almost immediately followed by what we thought were our entrees. There was no way that our table was even big enough for all of these dishes and, frankly, we were not ready for our entrees. We just wanted to sit and enjoy our appetizers. Then, while still eating our appetizers, a server (not OUR server) tries to deliver two of our three entrees again. We finally had to explain that we wanted to finish our appetizers before our entrees were served. This seemed to distress our server, who was concerned that our entrees would get cold. When our appetizer plates were cleared and our entrees served, one of them was indeed cold. We just ate everything and left very unsatisfied with our experience. We have LOVED Limelight Supper Club in the past and had only great meals there. We would highly urge the management to go back to the way the menu was done before and stop the "tapas-style" approach. The food was mediocre at best and the service pretty bad. We had to ask twice for bread before we finally got it. Limelight - you can do (and have done) better than this!
The menu has changed to emulate a tapas restaurant. The menu is limited and not very appealing. Only 2 dessert offerings. We paid $90 plus tip for a meager meal. Could have had a traditional dinner elsewhere for the same amount. Won’t be back.
Have been there more than 50 x. Season ticket holder DCPA. Convenient but wildly changed. Menu is terrible. No meat? In Colorado? Meals all coming out different times. Waiter (or kitchen) even screwed up the desserts (all the same) came out in three passes. Done!
The food was awful. Thank goodness they were small portions. No steak or chicken on the menu, even though the online menu showed it it. Metal chairs were very uncomfortable. Very expensive for meals that were terrible. We paid $97 with a tip for 4 people. 3 of us could not stomach the food. My son in laws food portion was so small he finished his with about 4 minutes. The food all came out at different times.
$111.00 for tiny tapas. Ridiculous menu. The Salmon was tasty, but the pun is that all you get is taste for $24.00. The deviled eggs were good and 5 for $8. Brie overbake. Had to ask for friends seafood meal. Smh. Eat a good lunch before you go because it is small, small plates. Not our idea of going out to dinner, but some people might like it.
The new menu is terrible. No varied choices, no vegetables, and the quinoa was tasteless.
We enjoyed the new menu. Service was great.
I got busy so our server forgot us. Waited to pay
New menu, more of a tapas style. The was good, though.
Over the years the service and menu have steadily gone downhill. Either the kitchen is too small or the wait staff is too small. Or both.
Convenience is the most pertinent description. The service is fine, the food is .... ok. It’s a bit pricey, but expected for the location. On the weak side, our first drinks had flat tonic and had to be sent back. The bartender acknowledged same and sent out replacements. We ordered two appetizer and one was nice. The other was supposed to be fried goat cheese but had been over heated and was overly crunchy and unpalatable. Regardless I would try again for the convenience. Too bad there isn’t another venue at PAC to keep the all around quality up.
Love the location. Portions are perfect. In and out in time for the performance!
We went before a night at the Opera and were looking forward to this meal after having an amazing dessert there a year ago. Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations.
The bread and butter, Smoked Deviled eggs and the Trumpet mushrooms were very tasty.
Was able to get a wine to go.
The wedge salad was pretty but could have used more dressing as it was dry.
Server forgot to put in our order of pomme frites.
The Short ribs took a long time and we had only 5 minutes to eat it before the show. It worked out because they didn't taste good and we left all but the 2 bites on the plate. Unfortunately we did not have time to do anything about this as we would have missed the show.
From where we sat the kitchen seemed in disarray and our server seemed overworked.
A new menu had been introduced the week we dined there, and the service was a little slow as a result. Apparently the kitchen was not fine tuned to the demands yet, but we had allowed enough time so it was not a problem for us, and the waiter kept us informed all along. The new menu was good
While the food was perfectly fine, it was not exceptional. What was excellent was the lovely ambience and the attentive service. We will definitely go there again when we have Sunday matinee tickets for the theater, a concert, or an opera.
We were not pleased with the new menu and will likely not go again until the menu is changed.
Good place. It has been a while since I dined there. Kind of weird was the cheap plastic chairs.
We were very disappointed that one of our favorite restaurants has made the decision to create a new menu that moves away from traditional yet creative and delicious meals we were used to to a menu of primarily appetizers and non-traditional meals. I had a sort a lamb stew, and the lamb was chewy. We are looking for a different pre-theater place to eat.
New menu selections are very good. Rather limited, which is not always a bad thing
The Limelight has a new menu--more of a tapas bar kind of place with lots of small plates to share. My group of 4 shared 5 plates, and it was perfect for a pre-theater meal.
The thing about limelight is it is approximately 20 feet from the entrance to the Buell Theatre. You can check your leftovers from limelight at the Buell Theatre coat check. You can bring drinks you purchase at limelight into the video. The food is good, maybe four out of five stars. They never answer their phone. You are able to walk in unless it’s a super high popularity shell.
OUR DINING EXPERIENCE WAS EXCEPTIONALLY ENJOYABLE IN EVERY WAY.
I ENJOYED SHARING IT WITH MY DAUGHTER, WHO WAS VISITING FROM OUT OF TOWN.
I love Limelight so much! It is currently my favorite restaurant and has been for awhile! I am always looking for excuses to go! I even have a favorite server and I love how the staff recognizes me as a regular.
The hostess was very friendly, but our server, Mira, was awful! She was rude, impersonal and acted like we were inconveniencing her when we asked for anything. After she complained and got rude when we asked for a cappuccino after our meals I had enough and asked for the manager. The manager, Matt, was extremely professional and apologetic. He took care of us for the remainder of our time and went above and beyond to take care of us. I was never planning on returning to this restaurant because of the terrible experience with Mira, but Matt was so awesome that we will definitely be returning. The food was delicious and highly recommended. If you get sat in Mira's section I highly suggest you request another server to be able to enjoy your food.
It was conveniently located next to the theater. But it was very overpriced airport food. Our server was funny and kind. It was a good evening at the ballet with my kids regardless. Just will not be going back here ever again.
Very convenient for the theatre. The Short Rib is always good. This time the Salmon was a little dry.
