The food was great and our service was excellent! Our group ranged in age from 5 to 87. The staff could not have been kinder and accommodating.
Was expecting something a bit nicer, like table cloths would be nice. More of a family place, lots of kids, not that I don't like kids but was hoping for a more adult theme. He'd three different waitresses, which does not lend to a personalized experiences. Got my mom's order wrong, so the rest of us had to wait till they made her a new plate. Ours got cold. They didn't even give her an extra scallop for the trouble. Better places to eat within walking distance. Will not eat there again.
Not happy this time. The last time I ate at Limelight I had the Lemon Ricotta Bucatini and it was awesome - so much so that my wife and I decided to split it this time around. Well, it was totally different. Rather than some scattered sliced mushrooms, this dish was inundated with huge chunks of mushrooms. Rather than a lot of the lemon ricotta, there were three small dabs. The last time I remember a few more cherry tomatoes as well - this time I think I had two complete tomatoes. A very yummy dish was turned into a heavy and almost unpalatable dish this time around. What did you do, fire the chef who did such a good job a few months ago?
Excellent job as always in getting us to the show on time!
Very nice pre theater appetizers. Was convenient ( especially because of the rain)
And service was very good.
Seated immediately and friendly staff, ordered appetizer and drinks and they arrived pretty quickly, however it took an hour to receive our actual entrees in which the salmon was raw and the quinoa had hard pieces. The lettuce was wilted in the salad. The wedge only had dressing on the plate and not on the actual wilted wedge. We were expecting better quality for the prices since we have been to this restaurant in the past and had a good experience. Disappointed on this visit.
We reserved for 5:15, but due to a perfect storm -- commuter rail out of service for at least 45 minutes and awful Friday afternoon traffic, we were an hour late. We kept them advised, and, incredibly, they held our table for us. The meal was delicious, and the servers moved quickly to ensure that we arrived at our symphony concert on time, notwithstanding the foreshortened time frame. Would strongly recommend for both food and service.
Great service and excellent food. So many delicious options, it was hard to choose.
Pre- theater dinner - our server was great! She made great recommendations and made sure everything was served in a timely manner to get to our show on time. Our food was delicious !
Was’nt as good as the previous time fish was dry the did cook another piece it was better
The wait staff was very nice!!
Great service, very attentive waiter, great food, and loved watching the people walking to the Buell!
My daughter and I have an annual mother/daughter dinner here before attending the Mrs. Colorado pageant. Sometimes it's just ok, one time it was not so great....but this time was fantastic! Everything about our visit from the food to the service to the ambiance was perfect. Great fun to watch all the people coming and going to the theater events too.
Prices are very reasonable for dining downtown, and so convenient when attending tbe theater. Highly recommend meat & cheese platter, short ribs. However lemon pepper pasta had no taste.
Great for dinner before the Theatre, with fun specials that mirror the current shows. Our server, Brian, is always fantastic every time we go! He's one of the very best! Go early before the show, because they do get busy closer to curtain!
Excellent service! Great food! Our server was excellent! Very attentive! Seating was very prompt and on schedule for us to get to the show!
I was very disappointed in our experience. My granddaughter ordered the pasta dish and I ordered the roasted chicken. When our order came the server brought two pasta dishes. Then I had to wait another 15 minutes or so for the mistake to be corrected. When I got the roasted chicken I thought that it was too salty. I think the meals were overpriced for the quality. I also felt that some adjustment in the cost ought to have been given me because of the mistake in my entre.
We have season tickets for the Broadway Series and have been coming to the Limelight for lunch before the show for more than five years. We have seldom had a problem with anything until this past Sunday afternoon. We sat at our normal table by the window and our waitress took our order right away. My friend always gets the children's mac and cheese with fruit. We were advised the fruit now costs $3 if you get mac and cheese, but is still one of the three side choices if you get one of the other items. After half an hour, we finally asked another waitress if she could check on our food because we hadn't seen our waitress since she took our order. Never have we had to wait so long for our food. When we finally got it, I had ordered the chicken tenders and fruit - but I received chicken tenders and French fries. When I asked about my fruit, she went and got it, but it was all honeydew, not the watermelon and honeydew as we were originally told. (A side note - the serving of fruit was very overpriced at $3.) We had to ask for our bread and butter. Our glass of Mimosa was a little less than half full, when in the past it has been 3/4 full. When we were ready to go to see Aladdin, my friend asked for a box for her food and requested her name be written on the box and we would pick it up after the play, as we had done for EVERY play this season and there had never been a problem. Our waitress said that was something that has never been done at the Limelight and she would box it but we would have to take it with us. We left wondering if we should cancel our reservations for the rest of the season and find another place to eat. We would rather keep coming to the Limelight.
And by the way, I thought Kevin's corn chowder was never to be taken off the menu, but we haven't seen it or been able to order it for over a year!!
Good place to have snacks or dine before a play or musical. Very convenient to go early, easily fine parking, and prepare for the show.
The filet has been replaced on the menu by steak frites, a lesser cut of meat. If the chef knows how to prepare it, like Bistro Vendome, it can be delicious. Limelight should go back to the more forgiving filet mignon.
Our group of 6 friends had a wonderful time. The service - Brian - was outstanding as always.
Went to Hamilton
This restaurant has excellent food and service, a great wine list and quiet so that we can hear one another! What's not to love. Plus, we went a few feet to see the show afterwards!
Good service and excellent food .
Very accommodating when we were late for our reservation. Excellent food and very nice service.
The service was great. Loved the food.
Awesome! Great food, service was perfect and on time as we had tickets to Hamilton after dinner.
Service was absolutely outstanding. We enjoyed the appetizer, entrees and desert very much. We were 30 minutes late because of traffic and our reserved table was held. The only issue I have with the Limelight is that there is no weather screen between the front door and nearby tables. On a cold day/evening, every time the front door is opened, all of the tables in the immediate area of the door get a very cold breeze. Makes it uncomfortable since customers are always entering and exiting. When you make a reservation, ask that your table be located as far from the door as possible.
Had their hummus and roasted vegetables, they were great. Entre was roasted chicken, fingerling potatoes and green beans. Perfect.
Before seeing a show at DCPA of course.. Drinks were great, food was wonderful, service was attentive, really nice time. Thank you.
Great service and great food as well. A casual, fun ambience. A good place to have dinner before going to the theatre.
The evening started off with a full glass of water being spilled on my lap by the waitstaff. They left to bring some towels and after what seemed forever they came back with 2 dinner napkins that were useless. So I spent some time in the ladies room blotting the water out of my sweater and pants and spent the dinner being chilled when the door opened and cold air came into the room. The food was very good though - the salmon and a pasta dish with a walnut pesto sauce were both enjoyable. The bill came without any compensation for the wet clothes. After my friend mentioned it to the manager, they were apologetic and comped me for my meal. This is a convenient place to go before and after the theater. The food is good - the service could be a bit better when mishaps like this happen,, especially when they were responsible for spilling the water on the customer.
The appetizers were creative and the main dishes plentiful for the price. All tasted yummy. The seats were a little hard and our server, while well-intended, brought the wrong wine and delivered mimosas in red wine glasses only about 1/4 full. When challenged, she provided a second one at no additional charge so all was well in the end. I’ll definitely dine there again.
This was not as good of an experience as we've had in the past, our waiter was not very attentive, I had to ask for my wine, and we didn't get bread for the table without asking as we usually do. I think the waiter was new. We had intended on dessert and coffee after the meal, but it took so long for anyone to notice we had finished our meal, we had run out of time before our show. That is the first time this has happened at this restaurant
Great menu for both kids and adults. The food was incredible. I love that there are no televisions in the restaurant. So rare and so appreciated. Great dining experience.
The food was average. Not worth the price. The ribs were dry and the rest of the food was nothing special
The hot food was lukewarm, I could see the waiter carrying our food to our table, then for some reason, turned around and went back, then about 5 minutes later, it came out again, but was almost cold. My pasta was very dry, needed more sauce. The steak was tough. We didn't have time to wait to send it back. The staff was very friendly and kind.
The best feature of the Limelight is the convenient location for a pre-show dinner. Other than that, the food was overpriced for the quality and the service was spotty. I returned a water glass that smelled of chlorine but never got a replacement. There were strange, brownish carrots or potatoes served with the salmon that looked most unappetizing. As we were finishing up, we heard a loud argument coming from the kitchen. We will avoid this restaurant in the future, show or no show.
We were seated on time. Our server took orders for drinks and food. He brought three of four drinks and never did bring the fourth. Other tables were filled their orders were taken, dinner served and they exited BEFORE we were served. Three of the four entrees were acceptable and quickly eaten, the fourth was completely inedible. When the bill came the waiter apologized, charged for everything except the returned meal, and we exited directly into the theater, quick bathroom stop, and to our seats. I know they were very busy, but that is their business and what makes that site lucrative. We went in to see Hamilton and I ate a light meal when I got home.
The service was absolutely the worst I have ever experienced in the Limelight. I had to get up at least 3 times to go find a wait staff person to find out where our food was since my appetizer never came and it took over an hour to get our entrees. By then it was too late to order dessert. I was totally embarrassed in front of my out of town guests, whom I had promised a great meal experience prior to going to see Hamilton.
Went to the theater and had dinner. In the past this restaurant was mediocre at best, but now, food, service and ambiance excellent. Would hope more people other than theater goers would come. We will have more pre theaters here in the future.
