The staff was friendly and the atmosphere pleasant for an open restaruant setting in a hotel. We had a group of 8 and were seated together at a hight-table in the center of the room. While the restaruant wasn't full (three or four other smaller parties) there was a bit of delay on the arrival our dishes. They did bring out various entree dishes as they were ready, instead of all at once, if that matters to some diners. Overall a great expereience for a celebratory lunch with coworkers.
We chose Lily and the Cactus for a small group dinner meeting of friends from 3 countries and 4 states. Everyone at the restaurant was friendly and helped make dinner a delightful experience.
The $20 express lunch (select Appetizer and Entree) is a pretty good deal. Service was pleasant and the food was good. I would come back again for a business lunch. Only other option around here are fast food joints so it was a nice break eat properly .
And interesting and tasty menu & our server was attentive & super friendly! I’ll definitely be back!!
It was busy and loud, but a great spot for a large business lunch. Food was absolutely excellent for the third time in a row, the “power lunch” option is highly recommended. The gazpacho was addicting. Service is generally prompt and the food came out mostly timely; servers seemed a little frazzled/rushed and distracted by the noise and pace of the lunch onslaught. Perhaps they’re not normally this busy at lunch. Even so, it didn’t affect service overall.
I wanted this to be better than it was somehow. Food was vegetarian, which was different, but preparations were uninspiring. Service was average. Setting, not fault of the restaurant, was a hotel anywhere in the US.
Went there for lunch. The food was great. They had this lunch special for $20. Exceptional value. The Chipotle shrimp and the chicken quesadillas were delicious. Would recommend getting that combination. I will be back.
The service was superb! Monique was extremely friendly and accommodating. The scallop appetizer was tasty, the salmon was good; however, I wouldn’t order a steak because I ordered Rare to medium rare and got well done. I ask for a new one and it was the same steak that was well done just now charred. Who does that? So I said just give me the salmon because the other person at my table got it and it was very good. Mine was ok, a little over cooked but a lot better than the how the steak was cooked. No manager showed up and I was surprised to see the salmon dish on the bill. My guest had to sit there and watch me it because they were already done. The bottle of wine served was a different year than what was listed on the menu. I have had meals at other Hilton’s and they have been really good and reviews looked good; however, it must be hit or miss.
Poor service and hostess did not know what opentable was about. Wanted to charge us $1.00 per bread roll. The wine and drink price was higher on menu . They said they failed to update the prices of drinks. Now how hard can that be. Before we got into restaurant we were bothered by two homeless men asking for money . Not cool
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience. It is not our policy to charge for bread, however it is an item that we only only serve with breakfast and the server did take it upon herself to charge for it. I do believe that item was removed from your bill. It's an incredibly easy process to update a price however the server also rang in the incorrect wine. Please let us know if you were still charged incorrectly.
Very good food. One of the few sit-down dining options in NOMA. Will go again!
We went once before and thought it was good enough to try again. We were not disappointed. Food was delicious and service was great. Will go again.
Lily and the Cactus is one of the few sit down restaurants in the neighborhood and we go there often for lunch. The staff is friendly and efficient. The food is dependable and served fairly quickly. Their Cobb Salad is always a wise choice!
Thank-you for sharing your experience with us Mary! We do change our menus seasonally, we will be sure to share with our chef that the Cobb Salad is a neighborhood favorite and should be a staple on our lunch menu.
Mediocre food in a bland setting.
Good Evening Team Slang, We are sorry that you didn't enjoy your meal. We understand that taste is subjective however if we prepare a meal that is not to the guests liking, if told we do our best to try to redo the meal to the particular guest taste. I'm sorry that you did not elect to tell us you were dissatisfied because we would have done everything within our power to correct it. We greatly appreciate your feedback and we will share your comments with our front and back of house staff.
It was pretty noisy when I dined. There was a large group at the bar for happy hour and they were 'lively'. I typically sit at the bar when dining alone but it was too crowded so I sat inside the restaurant which was a bit quieter. I came to check out the banquet space and patio for an event I'm planning for the spring. The arugula salad was pretty large for an appetizer but good with segments of oranges and apples. The tortilla soup was nice and creamy with a hint of spice. I also enjoyed a sorbet trio for dessert, scoops were a little large and the plate was decorated with berries and biscotti. Great banquet space and huge enclosed patio. Will use for upcoming events.
this restaurant hidden inside of the Hilton is easy to miss. Service is friendly and the food is fantastic. It was very slow when I dined but I was happy to have discovered it and since I live in the neighborhood I will definitely be back. Try the cashew crusted chicken and apple creme brûlée.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We will share your praise with Merry. Come join us for Valentines Day weekend where are chef will feature a special menu from 2/14-2/17
Great food! Enthusiastic staff! Don't let its location being in a hotel deter. Quality, delicious!

Great overall experience!! Highly recommend it. From the food, to the service, to the decor, to the location. I will be back.
This restaurant provided some of the most disappointing service that I have had in a long time. Long Waits, mistakes with the food and drinks, and then charging me for drinks that I didn't have. There were miscommunications and misunderstandings all around. The table next to me complained vociferously about the service as well, so it wasn't just me. Perhaps it was an off night, and I get that. However it was definitely below standard service.
I stopped by for lunch and was not disappointed. I must say that when I hear about a dish with chicken I don't get too excited, but the chile cashew chicken was great. I definitely recommend it and will get it again. The service was fast and welcoming. I would recommend this place for lunch.
My night at Lily and the Cactus was exceptional. The environment was nice, quiet and cozy. The food was delicious and the bartender working that night named Lamar was excellent. We usually sit at the bar because that's where people tend to interact and converse most. Let me tell you, Lamar did not disappoint. The conversation was intriguing and the drinks were on point. The food came fast, hot and was delicious. If you are looking for a good place to eat and someone that will make sure your needs are met Lily and the Cactus is the place. Ask for Lamar, I promise he won't disappoint!
This was an awful meal. The chili cashew chicken was tasteless. The potato puree was not so pureed; there were huge lumps. The spinach had some kind of interesting sauce but was so over salted as to be inedible. My wife said the best thing about her salmon over rice of some kind was that "it was calories."
Perhaps the only thing worse was the service. With a nearly empty house, the waitress practically barked at us twice if we were ready to order before bringing the drinks. Again with a nearly empty house, meals that didn't belong to us were brought over. We had to beg for second drinks. At least we didn't have to chase down the check; it was tossed on the table before we were done.
Desserts were delicious and attractively presented.
