When the weather is warm, diners can relax around mosaic tables on the terrace patio. On cooler days, the hardwood floors, candlelight and exposed brick inside make for a snug retreat. Brunch is served on both Saturdays and Sundays, and offers options for health-conscious patrons, such as a Greek yogurt parfait, and for those looking to indulge—say, in the Nutella-smothered French toast.

We were very pleased. Good menu selection. It was a quiet night and one lady was the waitress, reception person, bar tender. She handled everything efficiently. Food presented very nicely. Yes, will return.
I liked the bar service where I was like a private client for a drink, bar bite and dessert. The rest looked pretty beyond the double doors.
Lillies never disappoints. Cozy, intimate atmosphere. Took my sweetheart there for a New Year's Eve dinner. They had reserved "our" special table that I had requested on Open Table. Friendly efficient servers seated us immediately. Started with a handcrafted martini made by the owner!! From the appetizer of great Hummus to the well prepared entrees of shrimp pappardelle and trout everything was delicious and well prepared. Topping it all off was their Lillies brownie sundae with a perfect cappuccino.
I can't recommend this place enough. Give it a try...you will like it!!
The main reasons some of our evaluations were not all 5 star: serving staff was slow to remove used dishes and glassware; a nearby table was excessively loud with rambunctious children. I realize this was New Year’s Eve, so we had reserved early to avoid later crowds, the loudness was understandable but often irritating. Nonetheless, the food was excellent.
I thought it was expensive given the portion sizes.
The waitress consistently reached over in front of my daughter, without apology. At one time, she even touched her drinking glass with her arm. We did not feel that the food and service justified the exceptionally high final bill.
What a marvelous experience! Excellent Italian food made with love. Service was spot on too. It's dark, cozy, and romantic. Nice neighborhood restaurant in Woodley Park that can't be beat.
Authentic Italian fare with a family ambiance. Pasta is excellent. The wine list is short but the wine selections are very good. This is a great value inn half off Bourke of wine nights.
We went to Lillie’s for an early dinner on Christmas Eve. The restaurant was nearly empty. The service was great, friendly and prompt. The food, however, was just fair to average. The crab mushrooms tasted more of bread crumbs than crab and the eggplant was very cheesy and rich, but missing other flavors. The seafood pescatori was generously portioned. All in all an ok meal, but a pretty expensive one.
Food was great, home cooked taste and worth the value.
I was visiting my son in DC and was happy to have found LiLLies. We were delayed getting to the restaurant and they had no problem holing our reservation and sat us immediately when we arrived. The staff was courteous and very attentive I’ve. The food was very good and offered great choices. It was a great experience overall.
I took my work team of 12 for a Christmas dinner, the food was very good and the price point was spot on. I had the lamb over risotto and it was very tasty. I would also recommend the meatballs and the calamari to start.
Had a great time here on Saturday. The location is great and the food was fast and wonderful. We had two different pastas and the eggplant rollatini was fabulous. Would definitely return.
Had two meals at Lillie’s. Lunch and dinner. Both were excellent and a fair price. Salads are expensive. Walking distance to National zoo and Marriott Wardman. Lovely European type evening atmosphere. Hope to dine here again. Food was excellent and ample but not too much portions. This is a small cafe type restaurant
A hidden gem. Good food, convenient location and a nice atmosphere
We had a large group, and Lillies was extremely accommodating. We had great food - I had tortellini with chicken - and the atmosphere was quite comfortable.
Great food and service. Nora is efficient and gracious.
We met some friends for a 10:00 am Saturday brunch. It's a lovely setting, pleasant and relaxing. Good service, with a very friendly hostess/server and a discrete and sensitive bus boy. When we arrived at 10:00, the dining room had only one or two other couples, and the noise level was not an issue. By 11:00, other diners had arrived but they did not raise the noise level in any noticeable way. I became concerned when tables were pushed together to accommodate a group of 10 or 12 right next to our table, but they did not prove to be much of a problem. Noise levels increased, but it was not a situation where reasonable conversation became impossible. Background music was appropriate to the setting and never a distraction. As you can see from my comments, I give great weight to a restaurant where friends can converse without shouting and cupping ears to hear responses. Way too many "finer" DC restaurants fail this simple test.
The food was good for a Saturday morning brunch. Decent poached eggs and nicely balanced hollandaise sauce. Good omelets and remarkably good coffee. I don't think it's reasonable to give an overall rating to a restaurant kitchen based on its execution of a brunch menu, but I'm certainly going to return to sample its dinner menu. I don't think I'll be disappointed. Overall, a lovely experience.
Food was amazing and the staff was super nice
Was very happy with the food and service at this neighborhood spot.
Lillie's is always wonderful. The decor embraces each person the minute they walk through the door. It is the perfect neighborhood restaurant with good food at moderate prices and a terrific staff.
I have hosted parties there for 40 people and had dinners for 20 people (could have seated more if needed). A group of 20 or so of my colleagues gathes from time to time at the bar for a lively happy hour.
It's is a lovely place to lunch or dinner.
Very nice Italian restaurant. Staff was prompt with everything. Atmosphere was lovely.
We had dinner for our son’s 21st birthday. All five of us loved the food, great service and nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
Great vibe for our family of 10 adults. Pescatore, eggplant Milanese, spinach ravioli were stand out dishes. Enjoy.
Overall the place was great!
My veal was a little over done but the rest of the food was amazing.
Lillie’s was able to accommodate our large group and increase the seating from 12 to 16 just twenty five minutes before our arrival. The food was great and the dining area was very attractive. Our server was very accommodating to split our bills into 16 checks and we really appreciated the extra effort. Everyone seemed pleased with their meals and liked the restaurant. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.
Had a reservation for five that included a five year old. Seated no problem, and I appreciate the extra step the restaurant took to reserve our table. Prompt service, great atmosphere, good food. This is a great little neighborhood gem.
Service was abysmal, waitress was terrible. Had a reservation for 5 and place was totally disorganized when we came. Forced to eat outside. Waitress came over after about 10 minutes and asked if we were ready to order food. This restaurant is not good, the food is tasteless and very overpriced considering the quality of food. Don’t waste your time and we surely won’t be going back.
The food was mediocre at best and the service was disgraceful. We had a reservation and when we arrived for my sons birthday / drop off to college good-bye dinner they acted like it was an inconvenience and sat us at a high-top table for 4 people when we were a party of 5.
We sat for literally 1 minutes when they came and asked if we wanted anything from the bar. We didn’t even have time to look at the menu. We said we needed a couple minutes then it took them an additional 10. We ordered a cocktail and appetizers. They immediately came back to dale our dinner order, simply asking what we wanted. There is no “selling the menu” here. Look and order. For a family owned restaurant the food was Olive Garden quality. The service was ridiculous and when we were done we asked for our check. No asking if we wanted dessert or offer of it, yet we were celebrating. Took another 15 minutes to get check and pay.
Restaurant is a total waste of time and money. Don’t bother.
My husband had the Tour of Italy and I had the Gnocci and Italian Sausage, both dishes off the specials for the night. The service was great and we went early, around 4:45 on a Sunday night. We were one of two couples there and it was quiet. The food was fantastic. Service was FAST and friendly.
I had the gluten free pancakes which were great. I thought they'd come as the regular pancakes -with fruit and powdered sugar. I also thought the $4.50 for any side was outrageous and I wouldn't do that again. The menu online said brunch cocktails were $8, but in person were $9. My bloody mary was like drinking tomato juice. Couldn't taste the vodka, wasn't even slightly spicy, and there was zero hint of horseradish, hot sauce, anything. It wasn't busy, but it was too much for one waitress, who was hard to flag down once we wanted the check.
Fantastic food and wonderful service. Will definitely be back again.
Quaint spot for a fantastic meal. Our server was friendly and attentive and the food was outstanding. Lillie’s will be on my list during our next visit to DC
The food was decent with small portions. The waitress was rude as well as the hostess. The hostess demanded to know when and how we made a reservation and was mad that she had to set up a table for the 4 of us. The only time they were happy was when we were getting the check. The food was also different and had extra ingredients than what was stated on the menu. Overall it wasn’t terrible, but would not go back or recommend.
Very poor service and poor food quality. Ordered seafood and some of mussels came dead that should have been checked before serving. It’s advertised as an Italian restaurant but it’s more of a tourist trap. I recommend staying away from this restaurant. Overall, overpriced and overrated place.
We enjoyed excellent service. The lobster risotto was delicious and not heavy at all (no cream).
There is so many restaurants in this area and its still slim pickings.
They are not even trying. The menu is stale. Food is obviously not fresh.
Very noisy at first. Less noisy as families departed. Sound deadening materials could be installed.
Everything was pretty good except for another table whose two children were running throughout the place, and the parents didn’t seem to care.
Food was good and came out quickly, and my 83yo dad liked his panda pancakes. :)
