Our brick, wood burning, oven was handcrafted by a 3rd generation Neapolitan oven builder, brick by brick. It features real lava from Vesuvio and through a unique double dome design, recycles heat to reach near 900 degrees.
What Insiders Are Saying
Whatever your restaurant need, Lil Frankie’s can probably solve it. This is the ultimate utility player.
The food is great, but this place is very loud. They have parties in the back, but sit small tables there as well which is really not fair to the smaller tables because they squeeze three people into two person tables next to giant parties. You and/or the staff can’t walk by without shoving people in the tables. The noise level was so bad (even for NYC). I know they want to pack as many people in the place as possible, but if they are going to host parties they should reserve the entire area for those who want to be exposed to it (aka other large parties).
New family favorite. Went Sunday with 4 people and then Monday with 7. Both nights were stellar.
Service was FAST and super friendly. Food was rock your socks off. Def would recommend getting plates to share so you can try everything. If you can, try to get a table in the back room with the plants or by the pasta kitchen. Super cool.
The pasta is al dente perfection. So fun to eat. Mouth feel was liiiiiiiit. Past/spagetti limone was so good I stole some from my mom on mother’s day.
Pizza was cooked to greatness. Oven is incredible. They do this whole eggplant that I think gets cooked in the pizza oven; awesome awesome. Put it in right when you sit down cause it takes a hot sec.
Pizza is amazing! Very pricey though
This place never disappoints. Must get: spaghetti Limone pasta!!!
Overall, the food was pretty good but our waiter (or lack of waiter) ruined our experience. The waiter did not know the specials and didn’t have the print outs so we had to get up and memorize the specials written on the chalkboard (da fuq). Then he disappeared after handing us our bottle of wine. Also, the prices on their website aren’t the actual prices so bring more cash. I wouldn’t come back as I wasn’t blown away by the food and would gladly spend another $10 for a much better entree and experience.
I always love going to Lil Frankie’s! It is my go-to recommendation for dinner and it never lets me down! The food is always delicious, service is good, great options for wine. Their staple menu has delicious options but the specials are always outstanding. It is loud in there for a small space but I personally do not mind it. I will keep coming back!
This is a tiny place in a very old building. The pizza was pretty good but the noise level was intolerable!
Placed in the front section of the restaurant, which wasn't great.
Big birthday party group - took a long time for us to get drinks - we were all confused about who was our server and who was just bringing/busing drinks. 20% gratuity factored in. Wound up being $55/person for shared pizza, shared salads and 1-2 drinks per person.
Food was great as was service, but wasn’t very happy with table location (right next to the kitchen) especially given I had made a reservation beforehand.
Poor service. Very slow and had an early dinner at 645. Food was good but price was too much for service quality. Cash only
Possibly the best pizza I ever had! Also recommend the fire roasted eggplant
We had fun there and the food was really great. I recommend this restaurant.
Fantastic food. Service was incredibly slow. It took 25 minutes for a server to take our drink orders and we had to wait 40+ minutes for the check to come out, with our server no where to be found.
Big scene, so expect to yell at whoever you came with. We waiting 40 minutes before a waiter came to take our order. Tricolore salad was simply chopped vegetables, not even to bite sizes, unmixed, undressed, unsalted. Pizza was really good, but pretty much the only thing acceptable about this place. "Wine deal" is basically a scam, since our waiter poured more in our glasses so that he could round up to charge us more.
Great pizza and we enjoyed the pasta as well. Cozy place that is fun for a casual date. Bring plenty of cash.
As the rest of Frank’s restaurants AMAZING!
The food was great and service was helpful, but it was wayyyy too loud.
So loud! But delicious as always
This is usually one of my favorite restaurants in New York. The food is always outstanding. I was very disappointed tonight when I realized they raised their prices by several dollars. Please be advised that the prices on the menu online do not match and it’s actually much higher. Overall disappointed but still pretty decent food.
I would appreciate an explanation as to why I did not receive points for this reservation.
I booked via Open Table, I received a follow up rating request from Open Table, yet no points from Open Table. How come?
Awesome food. Atmosphere was spot on! Will definitely be on our rotation of favorites in NYC
I wish the waiter had told us it was cash only before we ate. Food was fine. Waiter also included the tip without telling us.
Great service, incredible food, good times all around.
Delicious food. Frank is a legend.
The food was fast and fantastic. I can’t wait to go back to enjoy what seemed like a great brunch (and 3 for 1 mimosas!)
10/10 every single time!
Long wait even with reservation. Food delicious.
Loved the atmosphere and the food! Great experience!
They forgot our salmon. When we asked the waiter about it, he screamed, “FU**ERS!” We were jammed into a corner. Very tight on space in there, but still cute. Waiter had too many tables. He was running around and very flustered.
Great hidden gem
You’ll pass this place as signage is poor (almost non existent) but the food and service rocks
A throwback to the tenement times where the layout is railroad style, connected buildings and multiple dining areas
Absolutely try it
The food was really good and the products definitely a good quality. The atmosphere was nice but really dark, more than a cozy place should be. The staff was interesting... they do the job but not super friendly.
Così e cosi
Very good old school red sauce Italian food .big portions I would definitely recommend this restaurant
Best service ever! We were encouraged to stay and truly enjoy our time (2 hours we were there) which is uncommon in nyc where you’re alwaya rushed!
Lively atmosphere and good food!
Let’s face it, it’s a scene. Went early for simple dinner and food was okay. Everything was okay, but nothing special. If you’re into bar scenes, sit at the bar and enjoy. Otherwise, find another place to eat.
