We just shared a pizza and a few draught Sixpoint beers and enjoyed both. The pasta dishes we saw coming out of the kitchen had too much say for European tastes - in Italy, sauces generally coat the pasta and not swamp it. This is a good example of where less can be more.
Wood visit again but stick to pizza
Aurel is wonderful....Friendly, caring and helpful
I frequent the restaurant because of Aurel and also love the menu
This last experience was such a shame. I had been to lil Frankie's a few times and always recommended it to friends so it made sense that when we wanted to get some family together we wanted to take them there. BIG MISTAKE. I had made reservations for 5pm and when we got there the hostess was incredibly RUDE and took us to a table that didn't even fit all of us. Then we were moved to another table where we were bumped into by other staff members and customers. We had no idea who our waiter was and was rarely checked on. We then waited 25 mins for the check and at that point had had enough. Maybe it was just the staff that night but I was really disappointed in the quality of service.
One of my favorite spots in the city! Casual vibe and great food.
Fabulous! Great pizza, best arugula salad I’ve ever had (adult arugula, not baby like in CA) and Eddie, the bartender had the most amazing playlist. Too bad their service was so fast, I would have stayed all night.
Great staff, really attentive and warm.
We all had a great time!
They include 20% in the bill so they don’t bother giving good service.
The food here is top notch but the service, starting with the confirmation of the reservation and continuing through arrival and the meal, left something to be desired. The hostess who confirmed our reservation sent a rather rude text when I asked if we could move up our reservation and our server was inattentive. We loved everything we ate and were saddened that the rest of the experience didn’t match up!
Not a fan of cash only establishments.
Just bloody excellent
Really busy - great otherwise
They didn’t have chick parm platter ( w/ spaghetti). on the daytime menu but it was listed online so I asked if they can just convert the chick Parm sandwich ($13.95) to hold the bread and give me pasta instead. They obliged which I am thankful for but they charged me $22.95? It’s online for $17.95?
It was very good but I was expecting exceptional. It’s good but I think I would stick to the pizza. The brunch items all looked fabulous though so I may have just ordered the wrong thing? I would try them again
Great food! We were happy to get a last minute reservation. Diverse menu and really lively atmosphere. Only down side was that we felt a bit rushed to leave before finishing our wine. However we will definitely be back.
Lil Frankie’s has been a favorite and staple for years. After moving out of NYC after a decade a few years ago, I was delighted to know Lil Frankie’s hasn’t changed a bit! A group of friends and I enjoyed all of our favorites and had an amazing dinner!
Went for my parents anniversary. They brought out cake to celebrate. Food was great!
Food's amazing but the service is absolutely awful. Had a reservation but was forced to wait outside in the rain for 20+ minutes. Sat down, no silverware on table. Took waitress 30 minutes to come over to take initial order. No waters, wine list or menus. Failed to come back and check in at any point in time to see if we needed anything else. We would have gladly bought many more bottles of wine but there was no one to ask. Ruined our night.
Really delicious Italian spot. Only flaw is that it's pretty loud.
Birthday dinner with 9 people. The service was so poor, they were obviously understaffed. Would throw the dishes in the receptacle behind our table every 5 minutes and all we would hear is smashing of dinner plates. The food was good, nothing exceptional. The ambiance was great. It was an experience, wouldn’t go back.
We came for a birthday dinner with a group of 7. The food was amazing - everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The restaurant is small and pretty crowded, but with the quality of food that’s not surprising. Definitely make a reservation here if you want some good Italian food at a reasonable price.
Great food, great service, great for a group of 12 for a 40th bday.
We came here for Valentine’s Day. We love the quality of the food here and always come for the Spaghetti Limone. The only down side was that it took 35 minutes for us to receive our fire-roasted eggplant and 25 minutes to actually get our check after asking for it multiple times. However, we had a round of drinks taken off the bill because of it, which I thought was more than accommodating. We will be back!
I went here with my dad while he was visiting to give him a little taste of the East Village and the amazing food that resides there. Lil ' Frankies is one of my favorites and the food does not disappoint. 100% order a pizza and pasta because they are both delicious and great to split. They also have a great dirty martini if that floats your boat.
Food and service were very poor. This was our second time at this restaurant and I would not dine here again.
Lil Frankie's a true gem in Manhattan - with the most delicious housemade pasta at reasonable prices! My husband and I sat at a little table along the wall, across from the bar and it was perfect. We shared a great bottle of Nebbiolo, a slice of the garlic bread (YUM), gnocchi of the day (spinach gnocchi with gorgonzola cheese sauce), and spaghetti limone. The gnocchi was handmade and cooked perfectly - little pillows of heaven especially in that cheese sauce. The spaghetti was not housemade, HOWEVER, it was cooked perfectly and I loved the simple lemon sauce it was tossed in - such a lovely meal. The waiter was super friendly and everything came out at a reasonable time.
Perfect neighborhood style italian restaurant with authentic food.
Really liked this place. The only thing is that the menu prices on Open Table are not accurate... everything was $2-4 more expensive per item when we got there. Still not pricey, but we were expecting cheap!
Great food and service. Would recommend to a friend.
Some of the best homemade pasta i’ve ever had and the pizza was delicious too! Can’t wait to go back.
Amazing food and service!! The spaghetti lemone was simply outstanding
The food was amazing. This was my fourth time eating at lil' frankies. The food, service, atmosphere are consistent and delicious. We ate the black truffle pizza, the fire roasted eggplant, spaghetti limone, the penne pomodoro, and a gnocchi. It was so good!!!
Food was great. Due to some big parties and possibly where we were seated, service was slow and we requested twice to place our order.
A good place to catch up with friends over a bottle of wine and delicious food.
Really good. Disappointed that there wasn’t any ricotta due to inspection problems
So delicious!!! Great night with the gals :)
I bring everyone from out of town to Lil Frankie's and it always blows their mind! I love this spot any day of the week and go here more then any other restaurant in NY.
Lives up to it's sister restaurants "SUPPER" and "FRANK".... excellent food, good services and no frills.....It is cash only....tip included in large parties....
they tried to charge us $50 over what our bill should have been - luckily we checked the bill and asked them about it. the table next to us was overcharged as well, it’s hard to imagine it was a coincidence...seems like overcharging is a common practice here unfortunately
Great place for large group. Good food and reasonably priced.
