   I have been dining at the Lift for several years and it has always been 5 stars with food and service. The view is impeccable.

   This review could be 6 words: You are paying for the view. If you'd like more detail, the next layer would be "Its fine. $200+ for 2 people fabulous? No. But fine". Staying for the full story? Good for you. After over 35 yrs of being a vegetarian, I've decided to make an attempt at pescatarianism. It's a big deal & Saturday was the launch of this 'new' me. My extremely thoughtful Significantly Significant Other thought that this would be an excellent occasion to try Lift, which markets itself fairly heavily on the fish. The server announced that Halibut Season had just started. perfect. That was exactly what the Thoughtful One had hoped I could begin this journey into fish-eating with. We split a lovely Caesar salad to start, which was tasty (and definitely large enough to share) before moving onto our $48 Halibut. The $48, 6oz Halibut had been described as "on a cassoulet, with clams, mussels, salsa verde, mushrooms & burst cherry tomatoes. Sounds delicious, right? And while technically correct, a more accurate description would be: "Halibut with what is definitely More than the daily recommended amount of white beans (so many beans) with 2 clams, 2 mussels, 2 mushrooms and 2 tomatoes". So while the description was true, it still somehow felt a little misleading. Speaking of misleading, one other odd little thing: We ordered 2 (5oz) glasses of Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc (a classic pairing) at $14 each ($2.80/oz). Our helpful server suggested a 1/2 litre (17oz/$41) may be a better value & provide more wine over dinner ($2.41/oz). We agreed. When the wine was served, she brought 2 glasses. When the wine had been consumed, the server announced that she had "forgotten" that we had ordered the 1/2 litre and asked if we would like 2 more glasses. There was no attempt to 'make this right'; ultimately, we spent $56 on wine instead of $41.The view was great. The food left us a bit disappointed. Might try happy hour instead. Have I mentioned how thoughtful he is?

   After my husband specifically asked for no liquor in a raspberry lemonade. They served my husband (who is recovered alcoholic), a raspberry lemonade with vodka. Unfortunately, a free dessert can’t make the situation better

    Our waitress was outstanding. Gave us some great recommendations from the menu. She even wrote a list of things to do on the way to and in Whistler! (We told her we were headed there the next day)

    Last nite was perfect for my birthday. The Mac & Cheese with crab is to die for! The prawns are a must as well. Matteo and Savannah made our dining out so much fun. The place "Lifts" you up! Patricia H

    Terrible service. I think the waiter saw 2 women - myself and my daughter- and wrote us off immediately. Barely gave us time to answer his questions, looked out the window while we answered, generally ignored us all evening. We may have ordered more food if he had ever checked in with us. Too bad he underestimated the tipping generosity of these 2 particular women when we’re happy.

    This is one of my favourite restaurants and regularly go. I dined with my sister who has allergies and they were so extremely accommodating. Our server was amazing. Lift never disappoints and they were really fantastic about the allergies. Beef tenderloin was fabulous and the salted caramel cheesecake was perfect.

    Great food and good services. It was not a busy night. We had a nice window next to the water. The chef was very nice to replace the seafood pasta dish with fresh seasonal veggies. Everything was perfect.

    We were there just when they opened on Thursday morning. The place is in the most beautiful spot in the harbour and you feel like your floating on water. We got the humbolt to start which was good the side veg which were cooked perfectly, and the halibut fish and chips which was soooo good! Like delicious. Our server (wish I got her name) was so wonderful. I’ve never reviewed service before but was the nicest person lol. Great suggestions for food and drink and was just really great overall. Next I’m in Vancouver we will be back.

    Came to the restaurant for Dineout. Always walked by here and couldn’t wait to try them. Food was great. The pallet cleansers were a surprise. That sticky toffee pudding was amazing!

    I had some executives visiting Vancouver and wanted to have them sit by the water and enjoy a wonderful experience. I requested a table by the window and we had a beautiful view of the water and Stanley Park. The food was excellent! My lamb shank amazing. Definitely returning again.

    Dine Out Vancouver: the annual prix fixe event whereby participating restaurants offer a limited selection at a lower price. We two chose the pork belly and scallop as our appetizer, the lamb shank as our main. Both dishes were outstanding. Desserts were “Chocolate Mess” and Sticky Toffee Pudding, also very good. $65 x 2, so far: excluding tax & tip. We chose a Lariana Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, from the Okanagan Valley. One of our favourites. $97 + tax. With taxes and tip, the meal came to $305. Bargain? You decide.

    The Lift is a great restaurant with great views from all tables. The food was excellent and never disappoints. Our server was attentive and helpful with recommendations and tips. We visit the Lift every time we are downtown Vancouver - This restaurant has taken over from Cardero's as our top go to spot - their food is updated and the service and views are far superior.

    Great food, service and views of the waterfront. We enjoyed the traditional Benny and Crabcake Benny, the fresh bakery basket and fruit plate. It was a delicious brunch and easy access to Stanley Park from the restaurant.
