Almost 50 years ago, the Lieu family migrated from Asia to the United States. Since then, they have owned and operated full-service restaurants in cities across the country, including Seattle, Atlanta, Athens, and Greenville.

So, where do the great flavors and tried-and-true recipes come from? The patriarch of the Lieu family handed down his amazing recipes to his eldest sons, David and Peter. Just as good brothers do, they worked together with their father to ensure success for their restaurants. Lieu Family owned and operated “Lieu’s Chinese Bistro” for twelve years on Woodruff Road, came to an end in 2014 when the family sold the business to a Korean family who has now sold the restaurant to another family. We still license the use of the name to the Woodruff Road operators, but you can only get the true Lieu’s Chinese experience and recipes at our latest concept “Lieu’s Asian Bistro” on Beacon Drive off Pelham Road which is a partnership with our friend David McCraw.

I had the peppered steak and wonton soup from the lunch menu. Very average for both. The peppered steak was somewhat bland and was not hot enough. The service, on the outside patio, was very attentive. We were there at 11:15 am on a Tuesday so the place was basically empty.

Had a great business dinner here. It was a party of 12 and the service was very good. Some language barriers but we got past it quickly as the server jumped into help. Excellent recommendations especially around spicy foods.

Mike served us exceptionally well. He is very knowledgeable of the menu and never left us hanging with empty glasses or anything we needed. He is an asset to the restaurant

Nothing like the Lieu’s we loved from years ago in their Woodruff Rd location. Atmosphere felt more like a fast food restaurant as well as food. Our service was good which is the only positive thing we can say.

Order was messed up, had to remind them for drinks. Late to deliver plates. Felt they were not attentive at all. Definitely wouldn’t recommend and recommend going to the Greenville location off woodruff rd. Also no need to reserve a table. They weren’t full at all and I can see why. Definitely didn’t live up to the name I’ve known for years. Food was subpar and dips seemed like it was out for a while as it had a film on top.
