I went there with my friend to celebrate her birthday. The service was nonexistent. I had to go get my own salt and pepper, because she didn't come to the table after she dropped off the food to ask if we needed anything or how the food was. The restaurant was not that busy. Anytime I needed anything I had to go into the restaurant to ask for it. We were on the patio. I would never go back there again.

The service was terrible and the food and drinks were subpar at best. Skip the “small bites” from 3pm- dinner service.

We came to celebrate a birthday party of 8. Our waiter did not get our drink orders correct. It took a LONg time to get our drinks. We ordered appetizers the food was good our favorite was the cauliflower appetizer. He took a long time to take our dinner orders, then forgot 2 orders completely. The 2 people were waiting while the rest of us ate. We
Had to ask for our table to be bused. The petite filet
above average. No compensation the forgetting 2 entree orders. We had to remind him that we were celebrating a birthday. He brought out 8 spoons and I am not kidding half a scoop of ice cream! There are way too many good restaurants with conscientious service in Newport I will not be back it was that bad. We started at 7:00 pm did not “finish” until 9:45 due to the delays in service.

Due to travel plans on Valentine’s Day, I wanted to have a special dinner the night before to make up for it. After reserving a table ahead of time and requesting a rose and champagne, the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Even after my flight into LA was delayed and pushed back our arrival time at the restaurant by 30 min, the staff were able to make it work. At the end of it all my date and I had an amazing time and she loved everything. The food and location were great and I couldn’t be more thankful for the service they provided us. Thank you

What a surprise. It's been a long time since I've been out to dinner and enjoyed such a great meal. Original twists on some classics like beef stroganoff and tuna tartare that were amazing. The service was great, friendly, and knowledgeable. Ambiance was perfect for date night. Highly recommend!

Wasn't happy at all. We went in for restaurant week lunch and we got there right before 3pm and they decided to quit serving off the menu and said we could only order snacks. They said they tried to call us to last us know. They did not leave a message and called last minute. They also did not have a full liquor license so not hard liquor, just wine and beer. Will not be coming back here.

Food was amazing - really enjoyed the Newport Restaurant Week course menu. Server was not a very enthusiastic person, seemed to just be hired for the "Newport look" rather than personality. However, that didn't dull our experience as my boyfriend and I enjoyed each other's company and the amazing food. The chocolate mousse, drizzled with olive oil, sea salt, and chocolate malt balls, and the Caramel apple cashew hand-spun ice cream were the highlight of our course.

The food was pretty good, but the small-plate/sharing format makes it so you're spending way more money on way less food. That being said, the food you get is pretty awesome and very unique. More full entree choices in the same theme would be better. The beer menu isn't really close to what they make you think it is, but the wine selection is pretty wide open. Patio dining is not what it should be. The view of the water is "semi-obstructed" at best and the patio was swarming with fruit flies.

Service from the waitstaff was way above par, but the hostess was very condescending, aloof, and borderline rude.

We’ve been to several of Newport’s top eateries and most of them multiple times. It was time for something new and we were not disappointed. Uber dropped us off right in front and we had our pick if tables for our early reservation (5pm). Super boss little dining room with a good sized bar surrounded by outside seating. We were treated to a casual yet delicious dining experience through attentive and knowledgeable staff who were casual but professional. We were lucky enough to sit next to one of the owners and his family and it was clear the staff, food and overall vibe took on his vision and personality. By 6 pm, the place was full of people enjoying happy hour at the bar and high tops as well as couples like us out for date night. Our server explained the concept of the menu and we followed her advice. We started with the “croquettes”, I had the yellowtail (Dory Daily) and she had the steak. All of it was so good! Lots of savory flavors added to familiar tastes that resulted in something new. Great beer list with something for everyone and tasty craft cocktails too. I read a previous complaint about the bill. All I can say is that it must’ve been their first time dining in Newport! We were treated like family, drank merrily and ate well. Happy to pay for that any day of the week!

The food and the service were top notch, however for $35 I got only a few thin slices of (admittedly delicious) pork. I left hungry. The menu described carrot puree and fois gras - both appeared as smears on the plate. So disappointing! My friend got the fish special, which was also delicious and well proportioned.
Luckily, she shared! LBW's advertise themselves as offering ideal wine and beer pairings with the food, but there were no suggestions on the menu. The location is hard to find, so maybe that's one of the reasons for the lack of customers. I hope this place lasts. Interesting places to eat are few and far between in Orange County. But I think that portion sizes need to be identified for those of us that are more hearty eaters!

This was our first time at Lido Bottle Works, we found through Open Table and Yelp maps. It is a quaint, meaning small space, rustic feel, on the edge of water docks. We were seated outside, to our surprise as it was a very rare California Frost Alert evening! The staff was prepared with blankets and heat lamps. It was still very cold, heat lamps were not enough but we tough-ed it out. The food was exceptional. Presentations were excellent. Unusual cooking techniques, flavor combinations, and excellent knife work made the dishes so much more enjoyable. All easily shareable dishes as well.

Our third time at Lido Bottle Works, and I'm afraid it has struck out with us, except for the perfect serving person, who handled all parts of our order and service in a courteous and yet inconspicuous manner. But the no-name wine by the glass is appallingly overpriced and the limited menu offers what appear to be creative cuisine, but in truth it turns out to be just a jumble of different flavors. We never get out of the place without the total bill costing $ 75 per person. Worth it only for the highest end Newport Beach restaurants. And the noise level is like John Wayne Airport on the runway!

We went for the Sour Fest, but there weren't as man sour beer options and we'd hoped (considering it was a fest). Regardless, the food was delightful, the server explained what the dish was thoroughly and it was exquisite. My only complaint is that I had asked which vegetarian dishes were warm, and she said that the Garden was warm since it was made up of raw and cooked vegetables. It was not warm at all. The view of the port was gorgeous, Lido is just a great place to walk around, very romantic, peaceful, and lots to look at.

Our food was very delicious!! Everything was thoughtfully prepared. Our waiter was great. The hostess needs training. She pointed to two tables, told us to pick one without taking us to the table. The music volume got louder and louder as the evening progressed. This was not the demographic for that choice. When my friend needed a fork as she did not receive a place setting, and while trying to get the hostesses attention, she looked at me, gave me eye contact and ignored me. I then had to get up and grab one from another table. She watched me and said nothing. She could definitely use a lot more training.

Appetizers (bao buns & poke) were amazing, but main courses (burger, steak, pasta) were all letdowns. Steak was overdone and burger had odd flavor. Pasta was just so-so. Another friend ordered the duck which she enjoyed. Long wait between appetizers and main courses. They were pretty swamped that night, would consider trying the restaurant again when they aren't as busy.

My experience was mixed.
First, this is a very cute restaurant in a great location.
Having said that, my experience was mixed at this restaurant.
Though my wife and I had reservations, we had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated.
It’s understood that such things happen, so we weren’t bothered by that.
Our discomfort began once seated.
Unfortunately the tables are high relative to the bench seats.
Though it was chilly outside, the windows and doors were left wide open and the A/C was on, making it also chilly inside.
Our waiter was nice enough to offer my wife a blanket.
I noticed others eating with their jacket on.
Finally the food left a lot to be desired for the price.
Our meal was small and our bill was large.
We left unfulfilled.

Wow, this little gem blew us away! The OC Register article really hit the nail on the head when they reviewed this place recently. The buratta cheese appetizer (which apparently changes frequently) was outstanding. The combination of cheese, pairs, persimmons, pomegranate seeds, and numerous other delicious ingredients served with lavash made this irresistable. The portion is enough for four honestly! I was pretty full at this point, and opted for the cauliflower entree, which is truly a work of art! Four different colors of vegetables, sweet and savory and again enough for at least two. My hubby had the burger with bacon jam and fries, and it was perfectly cooked and minimal in a gourmet kind of way. Delicious drinks and service on point. Not to be missed. Plus check out the Lido House Hotel across the parking lot after for a great roof top bar!
