Lido Bottle Works
American cuisine . Sophisticated, yet casual and approachable, LBW is
an unexpected surprise with an ambiance only those who have visited can describe.
Terrific location, limited menu and full bar may be required
Great patio experience overlooking the harbor!
It was wayyyyy to loud... hard to enjoy your conversation inside.
Only critique is that the menu is not separated between dinner and appetizers. Our waiter tried to explain that to us by saying somewhere in the middle of the menu the appetizers become full sized meals. We ended up ordering 3 different appetizers so we had enough food. The curried meatballs and short rib croquettes were absolutely to die for, we just wished they were meals! A little pricey, but it is Newport after all.
Great evening at Lido Bottle Works! We celebrated a friend's birthday with out of town guests and everything was perfect. The small plates were creative and delicious. We really loved the steak, the pork bao bun, the cauliflower salad and the great wine list. We'll be back.
This is one of our go-to options when we want to sit outside, drink a bottle of wine, and share some small plates. It is the perfect combination of laid-back and special. We were there on a Monday night after a long weekend, so the restaurant had sold out of quite a few of my favorite options, but it was still good.
Nice spot on the marina. Limited brunch menu but food was good. Had mentioned when reserving it was a special occasion (birthday) but server didn’t acknowledge.
Was looking forward to pleasant brunch, but immediately seated by table with yelling children, only to be replaced by others when they finished. Food was good, but they didn't have everything on the menu, including only being able to make only one of their form of "bloody Mary's," although on the menu. Restauarants should only ever run out of "specials" not menued items. Disappointed and unlikely to rush back.
I want to love this place so badly but the service was just horrendous tonight. They should have had at least two more servers - and a smile or some warmth from our server would have been nice. We waited forever for everything... though the food is good overall with some really great things it’s just so hot or miss otherwise. Inside is dark crammed and incredibly loud but outside is lovely. Just wish they had the service to match - super disappointed.
The flavors of each of the dishes we chose were outstandingly flavorful
They were a bit short staffed; waiter did a great job considering. Food was excellent and nicely balanced in flavors.
It was my birthday and me and my girlfriends had a reservation and that sat us in the way back. I felt like we were in the kitchen. We asked to be re seated out on the patio and there was no place they could put us. It was disappointing to pay waterfront prices on the ok food while not even
Seeing the water. It also wreaked of fish. I get we are on the water but it smelled in the restaurant. I won’t be coming back. As we walked back to the car we saw the other two restaurants atmosphere looking much better and wished we went there instead.
This was a spectacular restaurant for my birthday dinner! Fantastic, creative food and wonderful service! Great wine and beer selection too!
The spot is cute, the ambiance is great, the food was amazing, but the service was very sub par. We had a reservation and couldnt find anyone attending to the front of the house. The service took forever. Our drink order was not taken for at least 10 minutes and the wait for our food order was quite a bit longer. We got no questions from the waiter - "Is this your first time?", "Do you have questions on the menu?" and he couldnt recommend anything. They weren't that busy and there was only one waiter and he checked on us once - we ordered another drink - which he forgot about. At the completion of our meal he didnt offer a togo box. When I spend a little more money, I just expect more attention and more pride in their restaurant and menu.
Very noisy! If you are seated near the back, be prepared to have all kinds of people browsing through the beer and wine fridge, about 6 inches from your table while screaming over the music etc..
Great little place definitely worth a visit. Great staff too...
We have always enjoyed this restaurant although this last time dining the food was really tasteless
Everything was great except bartender decided to save all bar seats for his friends- which turned into feeling like being at a Mutt Lynches party... we don’t come to lido to feel like we are at some noisy college bar.
The Bottle Works is just fun no matter where you sit! The menu is eclectic and the small plates quickly add up to a delicious meal, the wine and beer selection is robust and the staff is just the right mix of friendly and knowledgable.
we have sat at the bar, on the patio, and in the dining area and have had a great experience every time, and the public boat dock makes it convenient to pile into the Duffy and buzz over last-minute, even on the weekend!
Huge disappointment. Had been looking forward to trying this spot. Walked up to reception. One table of 2 was seated on patio at 6pm. The entire restaurant and patio were empty. Quiet Tuesday night. Said we have reservation would love to be on patio. She said I’m sorry I have a party coming in. 2 girls came in seconds behind us with no reservations and asked for patio and were seated there. We left our table and walked down to Zinque which was packed but the hostess offered (without being asked) “I can seat you on patio but need to turn table in 2 hours” we were thrilled. Had a fabulous experience at Zinque - food and service. But we’ve been there a bunch and weren’t surprised. Bummer about lido Bottle Works. Only have one star on review because we had to give something
we had a great time!
We had a reservation and they sat us in the back by the kitchen under an air vent. No view. How can you even put a table there??!! Insulting. So we left.
Great food, Great drinks, perfect outdoor atmosphere.
Nice ambience, great food, good service, and live music was enjoyable, but cocktail drink could have been more tasteful.
Great food, great service. Love the atmosphere and personal attention. Pork belly buns were awesome!
Great date night spot. Small space, but utilized well, both indoor and outdoor, was perfect for a summer night. Service was attentive, food was VERY good! Disappointed that they had run out of the fresh fish special of the night, but our reservation wasn't until 9 pm. The iberico secreto was amazing! Was a very good experience! We will be returning.
The food and service was great, but we had a reservation at 8pm and were not seated till about 8:40! We were starving by the time we got in.
Our server was a wonderful guy, paid attention to detail and his recommendations were on point. However, this is not a restaurant that stands out, it's just ok.
Our experience was amazing! Enjoyed trying different plates and being able to share with our party of 4. Great view. Staff is amazing and welcoming. Never felt rushed even though we were the last guests there at 11 pm. Thank you Lido Bottle Works!!!
This is one of our favorite places in Newport Beach. So good!!
It was wonderful! I love the Bolognese sauce they use! It’s delicious!
Mean was fantastic and we had an awesome server..I believe his name was J.T or T.J. ..it was an initial... he recommended a splendid orange beer which was perfect. Outstanding luncheon
This place was great! Awesome location, delicious brunch menu. Good drink list—but only beer and wine, no hard liquor. The cold salmon avocado toast was amazing!
Great environment and the staff are amazing and accommodating!
Food comes out really fast but most of it was cold.
We love this place! Creative menu, on the bay with a great view, open to the outside (some patio seating), friendly locals, fish bought that morning from the local Dory fleet...there's nothing not to like.
Super nice staff, great ambiance! Food varied. It was a birthday dinner and 5 of us dining. We ordered several plates to share. This is the consensus: short rib balls some loved, 2 said just ok. Cebiche (aka ceviche): VERY bland and boring. Steak frites: amazing! Burata dish: had a lot going on, but delicious! Can’t remember the other dish. Wines were excellent. We were unpleasantly surprised that they didn’t bring a little sweet bite for the birthday girl at the end. So....We went to Lido House’s Captain’s table for wine and dessert:)
Had a great brunch with friends this weekend. We sat on the patio with a view of the harbor. Our waitress London was super attentive and gave great recommendations for food and beers! The food was great, everyone enjoyed their meals.
We were there with friends, and sat outside. I'm glad because it was so noisy inside that we wouldn't have been able to have a conversation. Food and drinks were delicious, and service was excellent.
We had a reservation for 8pm but they had no tables available, waited 40 min.
