Lidia's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Annie was our waitress. She was attentive, without hovering. Pleasant and personable. Knew the menu and very helpful. Both the food and wine were, as always, consistantly superb. As out-of-towners, we always schedule an evening at Lidia's when visiting Kansas City.
The service staff was great about making my mom feel special from beginning to end since I brought her there for her birthday. The server was great about explaining things to us and helping me pick out a wine. Mom liked her pasta trio and tiramisu and my gnocchi was perfect. Overall an enjoyable experience!
Took my nine-year-old daughter there for a daddy-daughter date night and made reservations for 9 p.m. and didn't get seated until like 9:35. So I guess I'm wondering what's the purpose in making reservations if you still don't get seated until 35 minutes after your reservation time....
Booked this for a special birthday, weeks ago. We love Lidia, but usually go just the two of us. I asked for a round table, but we ended up sitting in the covered patio. Really cold, party of 20 next to us. Disappointed, expensive. It’s challenging on holiday weekend
Food was fantastic but our waitress was horrible. She forgot our drinks —she placed our order so quickly that we could not even enjoy or try to finish our first course and then a server wanted to take it from us. Then when it came time for the bill she brought us someone else’s bill.
Good in buffet was not at correct temp. Soup was cold. Frittata also cold. My trio was wonderful. My sisters lasagna was burnt. My mother asked if she could change her order moments after it was taken and was told no. We then waited at least 30 minutes. Lots of people were having very slow service. To be fair they were very busy, but it's not their first time to be this busy. I love lidias and was sharing it with my sister. We were a little disappointed.
we weren't waited on for the first 10 minutes. Once we notified management they were on it, apologized for the mix up and a waiter was there right away. Then they brought us two free appetizers which were unexpected and very good. We appreciated their effort.
We were there for a birthday celebration. First time any of us had been there and it was great! Service was excellent although I marked it as very good simply because between appetizers, main course, and dessert, there was a delay that seemed to take a little longer than necessary. Our server was great and did an excellent job, so we were not sure if it was the kitchen or other processes causing the delay between service.
Food was excellent as we all tried each others dishes. The appetizers were really good! Highly recommend Lidia's and hope to go back for brunch. We heard a lot from our waitress about brunch and how good it is. We all agreed we want to go back for brunch sometime.
Lidia’s has been a favorite of ours whenever we travel to Kansas City but this time we were very disappointed. We ordered the three-course pasta special. The dressing on the Caesar Salad had way too much lemon juice in it, making it watery and tart as opposed to rich and creamy; the butternut squash ravioli was bland...Lean Cuisine’s rendition is much more flavorful; the angel hair pasta with shrimp, scallops and broccoli had no flavor; and, my meringue with berries was so tough I couldn’t even cut it with my fork. Needless to say, the bites I was able to eat were so chewy I thought I might pull teeth loose. The next time we travel to Kansas City, we will not be dining at Lidia’s.
We have always loved Lidia's and decided to try it for our Thanksgiving meal this year (recommended to us by friends). It did not disappoint! Wonderful food, excellent pace of the meal and excellent service. We find the space is a little louder than we would like, however, we had the last seating and by the time we got through the first course, the noise level had dropped considerable and was just perfect!
We took advantage of the Thanksgiving 4 course offerings for supper and had a great time. Thank you for staying open on Thanksgiving Day and spending your time away from your own loved ones to ensure your guests had someplace wonderful for a meal today. We'll be back!
Our family celebrated our Thanksgiving meal at Lidias. The service was impeccable; friendly, knowledgeable with a true desire to make our experience noteworthy. We enjoyed having several options to choose from on the menu. Everyone truly enjoyed their meals with the accompanying wines. Delicious from beginning to end.
