We were meeting at for a special occasion. It has always been excellent! Our food server was fair at best kept talking very fast and would leave the table before we could respond. I tried to order she walked away. When she came back I tried to order again she walked away again. Third time she came by after a long Period of time finally took our order. She was not customer oriented at all not our normal experience at this restaurant. Service poor. Food service excellent once we finally had our order placed. This food server would be more suited to the barbecue restaurant next-door rather then a fine dining experience.
Excellent , Brunch . Well thought out choices for our second item . I would highly recommend .
The brunch was fantastic. The all you can eat antipasti was delicious--the Caesar salad, the crab salad crostinis, the prosciutto, etc was perfect before the all you care to eat pasta!
Lidias never disappoints.. the food was amazing!! our server however was running his rear off… had so many tables to attend to and still did a great job! Will definitely return!
It was okay but not up to past experiences. We were disappointed to see very little mitigation in place during pandemic: not all staff wore masks, no extra spacing considerations with table placement. Food was just okay this visit. We both got the trio, 2 of three were quite bland. Service was fine giving grace knowing everyone is short staffed, but our waiter did not tell us what the trio was but heard him outline it for other tables. Also our bread was brought out wrapped in paper and just placed on the table, other people had their’s brought out on plates (perhaps dish washing was behind?). Not our typical Lidia’s experience but it also is not typical times.
Food was excellent and our server Matthew was top notch!! Highly recommend the chef's pasta trio and tiramisu.
The food was delicious. Service was good - it was a great time
Our food was delicious, wine was great and service was fantastic! Can’t wait to go back.
The food was pretty good. Service is what makes the place great though. A little pricey but worth it
Been here a few times. Absolutely enjoyed the food again (Order the trio, it's worth it). Will once again come back.
Food was excellent as always but service was terrible. We had to ask for bread and even for water refills. Our server never tried to interact with us and was very unfriendly. When he brought our checks he didn’t say thanks for coming in or anything - just dropped the checks. Very disappointing as this is an annual outing for us that we missed last year and we’re really looking forward to tonight.
We indicated that it was for a birthday and no one said anything or did anything. Not sure what the point was of indicating that in our reservation. Our meals were good for the most part, but not the best we've had. The risotto was kind of bland and presentation looked like a bowl of oatmeal. When we got there the place was fairly empty as we were eating early...but they sat us all together even though most of the restaurant was empty.
Phenomenal fresh-made pasta, good selection, good wine, and service. I'll go back in the future.
Love this restaurant!
We decided to celebrate our 36th anniversary that night at Lidia’s. For the first time in a long time I enjoyed all three items on the pasta trio menu. Also, Matthew did an amazing job taking care of our dining needs.
We arrived early to enjoy a couple drinks at the bar before being seated for dinner. My wife really enjoyed the Lemon Drop martinis.
We wanted to sit outside on their new patio, but it was closed. So, they put us in a corner to minimize exposure. The food was amazing as always and the service was friendly, responsive but not hovering.
If I was Lidia B I would be ashamed to have this as my restaurant, I remember the days when it was a great restaurant , but not any more, sorry to say look elsewhere!
We always enjoy our dinners at Lidias. Service and food are great.
We really enjoyed our family dinner at Lidia’s . The food was great as was the whole experience. Definitely will Plan to eat there again.
It was our anniversary today. We had a great time at Lidia’s per usual. We ordered Sunday brunch with pasta trio. Food was delicious and the server was kind. Thank you for making our day extra special.
The brunch is outstanding! We enjoyed a lovely variety of salads, breads, antipasto, and desserts. The service was superb!
Lidia's Brunch was GREAT. Everything was delicious, ample in quanity, and beautifully presented. Two of the best meals I've ever had have been at Lidia's KC Brunch and Commander's Palace Jazz Brunch in NOLA. Two excellent venues run by two super restauranteurs. And service by Peter was also top notch.
We surprised my Mother with a trip to her favorite TV chef’s restaurant and it did not disappoint! There were plenty of really positive things to highlight including the overall ambiance of the entire restaurant, the staff at the Hostess Stand was friendly & attentive, our minimal wait for a table in the bar area was highlighted by the polite and knowledgeable bar staff, our server was a wonderful woman from Ireland who had worked there for 20+ years truly made the experience special for us as she was funny, professional, well versed on the menu, and made us feel special, the quality and quantity of food was also fantastic and highlighted by the homemade lasagna which we would all highly recommend, and the overal value for the meal and experience was well worth it.
The couple areas for improvement would be the food temperature, as a few dishes did not come out piping hot. And the bus staff likely could have been trained better (likely COVID related); we had some minor silverware and table clearing miscues.
All in all, would highly recommend Lidia’s to anyone looking for a great ambiance and Italian food experience.
Was very dark the hand blown glass it was not even turned on
I loved the Thanksgiving menu.
We were really seated too close to everyone; kind of jam packed tables;
Food and service were great, table location quite frankly sucked, but would go back again.
Thank you for another wonderful Thanksgiving meal!
We always love Lidia’s and had a great time having our Thanksgiving celebration there. We loved the antipasti, pasta and dessert courses. We all felt the main course courses (our table experienced three of the five offered) were not what we usually experience at Lidia’s. We weren’t sure if that was due to staff shortage or supply chain. Overall the meal was enjoyed by all.
We had an amazing experience at Lidia's. Excellent service and exceptional food.
Used to have more ambiance and better quality of food.
The food is always quite good and tonight was no exception. Our waitress was fun and knowledgeable. Our group had the Osso Buco, the braised short rib and the trio. Salad was quite good and our appetizer, a combination of calamari, shrimp and roasted veggies was excellent.
Went for my husbands birthday. Had the Sunday Brunch and there was more food than we could eat. It was all wonderful!
Wonderful food. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere.
Pasta was dry not very flavorful and took a long time to get out. For four people, the antipasti and desert portions were small. Our server was great, but the food just wasn’t up to the standard I have come to expect. No worries- I’ll be back soon, and hopefully we can be back to traditional brunch by then
Perhaps my disappointment was only with the brunch. It was upsetting to have such quantities of food brought to the table! The appetizers and the desserts were fine. However, since it was our first time at the brunch, we took our server’s recommendation of the pasta trio. The raviolis were exquisite, but the other two spoiled the look and the taste. The dish with a few very small shrimp was supposed to have broccoli. But it only had little flakes of something. The fettuccini with creamy red sauce was likewise salty and overwhelming.
Everything about Lidias is amazing. One of our favorite places to go
We loved the service and the ambience, but the pasta came out a little hard. Unfortunately too hard for our liking, and according to our waitress “Al dente” (Italian for hard, I’m assuming) is how the past is served.
The appetizers were delicious, wine was good, and dessert was spectacular.
Our waitress was awesome as well. Good experience unfortunate incident with pasta but service made up for it
Lidia's is an outstanding restaurant, great selection and atmosphere.
2nd time to dine at Lidia’s. Great as we remembered. Sat at the bar & had excellent service. We make a point to stop on our next time thru KC
And will recommend to our friends
